Food and drink wise, I got a hot vanilla latte & classic 90s sandwich with no meat/added protein. The croissant was bigger and more stuffed than I anticipated so struggled trying to eat it using my hands and instead opted for utensils. I was walking around Old Towne and came across this quaint little coffee shop and market. The service was courteous and friendly. Just got Chai Tea latte and it was really flavorful the spices tickled my tongue was very flavorful. My friend had a Matcha that she shared was really delicious and we also Ordered an avocado Toast, and it was one of the best I have had the avocado Was fresh and had eggs, pistachio nuts and mint on it. Fantastic study ambiance! The gorgeous flowers on the ceilings, the unique ice cream bars, and the tasty pastries. I adore working remotely from here and would highly recommend visiting here for either a cafe date or a study place. The only downside is that parking is paid. After a certain hour, the pastries are also half off! I ended up getting a baked good for about $1.50. Parking: paid street mobile parking. The latte, was a disappointment. It tasted burnt, and could not enjoyed it as much as I would loved to. I am hoping this was a one time thing that happened. About their menu, is decent enough for a cafe. Don't expect fancy shamamcy stuff. Is a cafe and not a restaurant. That stated, it will be great if they provide more cafe food items to accompanying your coffee. Maybe a biscotti, or a madeleines. Although, the present offering is great . As for tea, maybe is because I am too demanding with cafe la for guest who want to meet someone over while the other party enjoys a cup of coffee it will be great if they provide some tea offerings that aren't brew in a tea bag but with leaves instead. Met some friends here for coffee on a Sunday afternoon (this was my first visit to Mae's). You order your food/drink items and find a seat (or vice versa). When your order is ready, they'll call your name or number for your hot beverage(s) or they'll bring your food items to you. Since breakfast was over when I arrived, I ordered the italian grinder and an oatmilk chai latte. That oatmilk chai latte was probably the best one I've ever had!!!!!!! It was soooo good and it had cinammon on top, which I love. The customer service was also great. When it was time for them to close, someone showed us that we could sit in the atrium (?) and that was a nice vibe also. I would definitely come back again! I knocked off one star because the floor, I sat on the side with the bar, was FULL of crumbs and food wrappers. Much more than just usual messiness, in my opinion. I like trying new cafés and maze was the closest one to me after my workout class. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautifully decorated it was. Walked by this spot and had such pretty decor that I felt like I had to walk in. That was a trap and I fell for it. Pretty decor with outdoor and indoor seating. Once I walked in I noticed the music was a bit loud however I was planning to sit outside so that wasn't a problem for me at that moment. Noticed the outrageous prices for meals to go that definitely looked like they weren't made there which was odd. Proceeded to arrive to the counter and there were two employees speaking Spanish among them and they didn't feel welcoming whatsoever with a good morning or what can I get for you today? What really killed it for me was the outfit that one of the girls was wearing she had a crop top and all her stomach was exposed leaning on the counters and the area where they have their pastries. Didn't look very sanitary at all, so went just for the coffee. Upon ordering my coffee, it had no sleeve on and it was pretty hot. When I asked for on one I was told we don't have. I just grabbed my coffee and left didn't even care to sit and drink my overpriced coffee at their outdoor seating area. Do not fall for how aesthetic this restaurant looks because the service and quality of food does not match the decor. Lesson learned! read more

The coffee/tea is pretty expensive also and parking can be a tiny headache. The environment is more for meetings over coffee rather than focused work in my opinion. Mae's Market and Cafe was a pleasant surprise on a recent overnight stay in Old Town. Here's why: 1) Food: They sell breakfast pastries, lunch and lots of goodies in the market. We found something for each of us, including our five-year-old daughter. 2) Coffee: Brewing Counter Culture, it was good! Our iced lattes were delicious. The one complaint was they didn't have simple syrup at the condiment bar. 3) Space: It's spacious and the aisles are well marked. I have been on the look out for a spacious place to sit down, have tea or a bite to eat and be able to work. Atmosphere, aesthetics and ambiance was key for me. This cafe checks all of that. I can sit down and not feel cramped. I can choose to face the street and watch the activity outside when I need to space out or be more present. There are tables outside for the warm weather option. Overall I am delighted to have found this cafe. And it's next to two yoga studios I frequent. I appreciate that there is a LOT of open space, making it feel very airy and light. There are some tables next to outlets if you like to work at coffee shops like me, but only a couple. It's a very cute setup. I find the prices a little steep, but I guess in line with what I pay at Foxtrot down the street. I'll definitely be back. My oat milk pumpkin spice latte was in the top three best I've ever had. Unfortunately for me they didn't have any vegan options for food. My friend got a very tasty, looking almond croissant and she enjoyed it (as well as her coffee). They were served in very cute cups. I did buy a chocolate bar that was vegan in their little market. It was just okay and definitely not worth the $15 that I paid for it. They had some other cute items at the café market for sale, like dried flower arrangements but I didn't have any additional room in my luggage to snag any. The only downside was the bread was very toasted on one side which made it a bit difficult to bite into. The Blt salad was yummy but a little heavy on the dressing.
