Was just refused service at iHop in Banning because my service dog (as I'm in a wheelchair) was coughing(which is from a bone he had the night before). Male Hispanic host was rude as soon as we got through the doors. They have patio seating, which he didn't even offer, so we took our business to Ruby's Diner, who was very accommodating and with pleasant staff. While our server was pleasant, they were apparently short staffed. We were seated right away, and our drink order taken. The greeter was less than friendly, no smile or discernable personality. It also took about ten minutes for a shake and an iced coffee. Another 10 minutes to order. The food was good, hot etc when it arrived. Asked for water refill, she brought two fresh glasses. The only saving grace were the pancakes. I'm not ever going to an IHOP on purpose, only on a dare or in a group. And that's if we don't have any other choice. The reason I came here was out of curiosity and the need to charge my iphone. Also, the coffee was not good and had a strange film on top of it. I had some pancakes with plenty of syrup and some sausage links and hash browns with lots of ketchup. I ate some jelly too. There was no toast either. It wasn't all bad but everything that implies coming here was a sobering experience. Kids yelling or crying is inescapable here. When I was young nobody ever told me, "Want to go to IHOP?" It was only after I went on my own was when I figured out what this place was like. There was this old couple sitting in front of me. I'll be honest I didn't want to sit next to them but it was the only place closest to the waitress and the coffee fountain where my iphone was charging. The waitress was kind enough to allow me to charge it there. I gave her a nice tip for that. But back to the couple in front of me. The woman was using a cane for whatever reason and the man was large and looked in poor health. Both looked in poor health actually. One of them had a cast but forget which. Instantly I thought of the health system in America and the people who are on drugs to keep the pain from overtaking their happiness in their lives. I got sad but powered through. Then, in front of me, beyond the couple and beyond the other patrons in the restaurant, past the street was a house. On this house was a banner. The banner said: 'How to treat high blood pressure'. I shit you not. It was where you go to get information on heart disease. Perhaps it was on purpose? I felt bad for eating here and for not ordering a salad or something green but that hasn't stopped me before at other places. It's been a few years since I have eaten at IHOP and things have certainly changed. They don't have much of a selection in their menu save for the breakfast. My grandson ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, I ordered a chicken steak with gravy, house salad and minestrone soup, my other grandson ordered the tres leches pancakes and hash browns. The minestrone soup was thick and salty, the house salad came with PACKAGED low fat Italian dressing, (I did not request low fat) and the chicken fried steak was just ok and the gravy left a bitter aftertaste. My grandsons tres leches pancakes were dry and the sauce was tasteless. Unless you have low expectations when eating out, I do not recommend wasting your money at IHOP. read more

My stuffed French toast came out very good in fact better than most IHOPs however the customer service was mediocre. Charge me $1.99 for cheese on my eggs. Understandable. Well when my food comes around no cheese. Doesn't come back and check on us the whole entire time. I finish my food. Except for my eggs. I got was a "sorry let me tale off the charge for the cheese". The eggs were part of the $10 and some change on the menu. And I didn't eat them. No one seemed to be concerned with the fact that I couldn't eat my entire plate. For reference I have provided the receipt number of my bill (0000000048033). To start off, we (brother and father) were seated and waiting for a server for more than 10 minutes to get our drink orders. As we ordered our food, it took the server(Tracy) more than 40 minutes to bring our order out while customers who had walked in after us had already been served. When our order was brought out, it was partial because they had forgotten to bring some of our food items. Rather than wait for Tracy to bring us the rest of the food, I walked to the cooks counter and asked Juan(manager) for my toast. The toast had been sitting there for quite some time according to the manager. The server lacked in all aspects of customer service. She made our experience very unpleasant, which resulted in us not eating any of the food and leaving. I am not sure as to why we were treated worse off as compared to the other customers, but it was evident that there was some bias towards us; maybe because we are a military family. Please be aware: do not go to this location, you will not be serviced properly. If you were wondering, yes I did pay the bill regardless of the service. read more

On Dec 30th I ordered breakfast (eggs, bacon, and hashed browns) at the IHOP in Banning. As soon as I got in my car I started belching. It got worse the next day so I contacted IHOP corporate and filled out a form on-line. By Jan 31st I was so ill I went to the doctor to see what the problem might be. Major indigestion, gas, nausea, and more belching. Was put on 3 different antacid pills and liquids. It's now Jan 9th and I'm STILL belching. Something I ate there made me very sick. I believe it was bad oil used for the hashed browns. Guess what? After a week and a half corporate FINALLY got back to me. I didn't want anything from them other than a call to check and see if I was ok and they couldn't even bother to do that in a timely manner. Instead, after a week and a half, they offered me a free breakfast which I adamantly turned down. I will NEVER eat at IHOP again. IHop is one of my favorite place to get breakfast anytime. So I decided to take my 8 yrs old grand-daughter here for dinner since she has never been to Ihop before. The food was good but service was very dissapointing. The food took a long time to come but we were patient. My grand-daughter said - whats taking so long? I told her that they still catching the cow for our steak. She laugh. We finally got our food. So I ask the server if he can bring water that my grand-daugter order and also napkins, A1 sauce and hot water for my tea. He came to bring the water but we never got the rest. I waited and waited. I can understand if he was too busy helping other customer but I see him chatting with another server and getting himself a drink and completely forgot to bring me the item's I asked (A1, napkin and hot water). I was less then half way with my food waiting for A1 and very irritated by this time so I decided to ask for to go box and pack our food and take it home the next time he passed by. I will not be returning to this location again. Hopefully, they willl improve service here for other customers. I have been to a lot of IHop first time i had such a bad service. read more

This is the second time I have had to leave this restaurant without food. This time, I wasted one hour. I went in this morning with my son around 10:45. They seated us in a booth in the corner and it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come by and another 5 minutes for her to give us water and take our order. One hour later other parties had come in half an hour after we did and been served--still no food for us and no sign of our waitress or anyone else to ask what happened to our order.
