Great little spot just off the 10 freeway in Banning. This restaurant has been here for years at least 20 that I know of. Staff have always been super friendly and accommodating. This isn't some yuppie, big city, let my count calories food. This is exactly the type of food you want when you need a big comforting hug. It is hardy stick to your ribs comfort food. Of course like everything else the prices have gone up but the portions are still huge. This location is right off the 10 freeway in the city of Banning . Upon entry we were warmly greeted,which is always nice. We were seated promptly and order was taken. The serving sizes are large. The food is delicious. pancakes were buttery fluffy perfection ! The oatmeal was tasty had all the great sides like raisin brown sugar and cream. The waffle was gigantic topped with strawberries, whip whipped cream!So amazing grandma did a great job. Grammas is a decent local option that's a step above Denny's. Servers are nice but they run a lean shop which meant that our servers checked on us once after we got our meals and thereafter we had to advocate for any other needs. It's a solid option if you have a large group. Their cinnamon buns are pretty good but everything else feels like they are just decent or overly sweet and syrupy. Hours are different!! They open until 3pm on weekends. They were incredibly nice and friendly. We came in about 2:30 thinking placed closed at 4 but they welcomed us so nicely. They have a variety of things in the menu but we went for breakfast. It's all fresh. My omelet was amazing. She offered salsa and it's made fresh. Soooo good. The place gives you a county feel . The decor is like grandmas kitchen as the title states . Service - they sat us down right away yet forgot about coming over and it seemed to be a confusion as to who was covering our table . The server finally came and apologized for taking so long. Once they took the order and brought the food they just leave you alone and really didn't come back. We came on a Sunday at peak brunch time, and were seated immediately. Everything was so fast and efficient, as we were given our table, had our orders taken, and also received our meals in about 15-20 minutes! The veggie eggs benedict was perfect, with the option to choose how you want the poached eggs (they said standard is medium, I asked for extra runny) Their hash browns were the best I've ever had: so crispy but not burnt. And they give half of an avocado, which is very generous compared to other places that barely give any. The bacon cheeseburger came deconstructed, which was fun to add the vegetables in. My bf said it was really good! It was also very filling, as he only finished half before needing a takeout container. The burger comes with a choice of sides, my bf got the seasoned fries which were "crispy and delicious" in his words Everyone in the staff was friendly! From the host to the waiters to the cashier Alice was our waitress and she was so wonderful! She was extremely helpful telling us of the daily specials that were not on the menu, offering to give us a drink refill to take to-go, and I also overheard her give another table extra hash browns for free because their plate looked a little lacking. She was sweet and bubbly, even complimenting me~ The interior is gorgeous! It feels like you're inside a home with curtain decorations, posters, shelves full of utensils and souvenirs! This was my experience. The service was 7/10. The environment 9/10 I enjoyed the old school American vibe, but the food was 4/10. Compared to the photos I've seen from past reviews the food quality has definitely gone down, the butter didn't taste like butter their chicken and waffles use to be a chicken breast but are now replaced with tenders and the sweet cinnamon roll tasted like nothing, very strange.
