The lights were on and delivery was available on doordash so I presumed it would be open. I get there and the door is locked but I noticed the lights were on and there were workers inside. I've been here several times and always a decent experience. Last time waitress was *super* nice and staff really gave tables a good clean after customers left. That was actually comforting and surprising - you don't think of ihop for it's cleanliness. The food is average, nothing gourmet about it. But it's always pretty quick and consistent. This IHOP will continue a two rating on my behalf because first the hostess was unprofessional, rude and snooty. The wait was 30 minutes not problem but after the 30 minutes we were still waiting. My wife spoke to the hostess and we waited another 15 minutes. They sat us down after 45 minutes as we were approaching our table I counted 7 empty tables. Several waitresses were talking amongst each other so how busy was this place. On a positive note our waitress (Ms. Kahai G) was very professional, always smiling. Apparently we walked into a "situation" in the kitchen, we saw an employee rush out of the restaurant as we were coming in, in retrospect we should have taken it as a sign and left. Despite that we were seated, ordered and the proceeded to wait. We waited as everyone around us were served food, mind you it was not busy, and we could see inside the kitchen. We were seated by our server (who was very nice), we were told my sons high chair couldn't be in an isle. Which was fine; we moved him into a seat next to my husband. So now, after we've been sitting here about 5 minutes our waitress comes over and tells us we need to be moved because we are in an apparent "fire escape area". Even though my son was on the inside of the table and we were out of the way. Also, if this is a restricted area why have tables there?? (Please note the pic of the area we were seated in) We were seated at the very back of the restaurant away from any other customers. We were the only party. 5 minutes later, two other parties joined the wait, filling up the front waiting room. After 2 minutes everyone decided to leave. We all stood, another employee looked over our way and did nothing. We decided to take the hint and leave too. We walked over to another restaurant nearby and we're seated, have our drinks and an appetizer all in the same time we waited at IHOP. I'm thrilled to be able to update with five stars!! I haven't been to this location in years after some pretty bad service previously. I had a craving for pancakes so we decided to give them another try. 7p on a Sunday night. Immediately greeted and seated. Drink order taken and promptly filled by our server, Jake. Order taken and arrived just minutes later. Everything was hot, correct, delicious. We were checked on just enough, and all needs were anticipated and met. Check was dropped off without having to ask for it, and we were promptly checked out and offered drinks for the road. The restaurant was clean, service was impeccable, and the food was perfect. My self and my wife live in Burnet, Tx and were in Cedar Park mid morning doing shopping. Decided that we treat ourselves to breakfast at I'Hop, since we have never visited this location. We were very disappointed and probably never visit again. The Woman's restroom was filthy and the food was not great. The hash browns were over cooked chewy and hard, the bacon was also very chewy and hard, the eggs were good, but the waffle was undercooked and felt like I was eating paper.
