I ordered door dash and my fruit was forgotten, when i called the store to let them know what had happen, a very pleasant young lady answered the phone and asked if I would like to talk to her manager about the situation. The manager was extremely compassionate and was more than willing to fix my order. Not only that but he drove his personal vehicle over to my work on his shift just to make sure one of his customers was satisfied. I greatly appreciate their generosity and understanding. My friend and I wanted to get something to eat after she got off work at 11pm, so we picked IHOP. Granted, we've eaten here before and the service was always decent, but last night it was phenomenal! We sat down and started talking about what we are thinking of reading and a moment later our server, Darby, came to get our drink order. We ordered our drinks and while waiting on them finished deciding what to eat. Our server came back with the drinks and asked if we were ready to order. So we placed our order and continued to talk while waiting for the food. Some time into talking, my friend was almost finished with her drink and out of the blue, our server had brought a new drink for her, which was awesome. Normally, that's about when service for me takes a dive and isn't so great, but not last night. It was amazing! It seemed our food came out quickly and it looked/smelled delicious, which it was! After a couple bites of food the manager, Christina, asked how it tasted at the right moment (not mid bite haha). And we told her it was delicious. By the way, I recommend the banana bread French toast. The whole time there, our server knew exactly how close we were to finishing our drinks and either brought one out just before or right as we finished them. When my friend and I were getting finished eating, our server brought out my last drink and asked (very professionally) how we wanted to handle the check, so we told her how and she said happened to have it ready right then, so she placed it on the table for us and my friend asked for a to go box. Hands down the best service I've ever had! Darby was so kind, polite, and professional! The manager, Christina, was awesome. Decent food. I ordered the crepes that had chicken and spinach (without the mushrooms and onions), and I think they tried to make up for it by putting more spinach into it, which made it a bit more bitter, but it's my fault for asking for it without onions, which would have sweetened it up a bit. I actually really like IHOP generally but my service last night was terrible, the waitress(Cassandra )completely messed or orders up, brought out the wrong stuff. Didn't give (2) of us out of party of 4 the pancakes we ordered with our with our meal , and had an attitude when asked about the pancakes, when we paid for our food she just piled up all off our receipts with our credit cards and put them on the table and walked off, I legitimately didn't want to ask the mad waitress for my pancakes because I felt like I might get extra ingredients. The waitress was so stingy refilling my water I thought they had to make scratch H2O in the back every time I asked her to refill my stained glass. We love IHOP overall and were very disappointed in the service of this location. The restaurant itself wasn't terribly busy for a Saturday afternoon and the hostess seated us right away. Once we got to the booth, our wait increased tenfold. In fact, after nearly ten minutes of no acknowledgment of our existence, we got up and left. Not one server, and there were several standing around, came to take a drink order let alone greet us. A simple, "I'll be right with you" would have been sufficient. Terrible, terrible service. Usually packed, so expect a wait. The food is hit and miss. Some is pretty good, others are downright terrible. We've been here several times, and I accept that its a busy place, that the service can run to slow. But today was just ridiculous. We only had about a 15 minute wait, which was fine, and our server was very polite as well as fairly timely in getting our orders. The food was the issue. My order was actually alright, the chicken and waffles is fairly hard to mess up. but my wife's order was a hot mess... She ordered one of the specials, a blueberry ricotta pancake thing. Firstly, the pancakes were underdone and practically mush, and this isn't the first time their pancakes have been served seriously undercooked. Secondly, the ricotta is advertised to be sweetened. I'm a pastry chef, that was ricotta right out of the tub. Bland and plain, which is just lazy. Her over medium eggs were barely over easy, they were so undercooked, and her hash-browns which were specifically ordered as "Please, cook them crispy, well done throughout" were burned on top and that's it. RAW all the way through. Does anyone here want to eat raw shredded potato? I know I don't, but you can never get a well cooked hash-brown, no matter how hard you try unless you go to Waffle House it seems. The server was very nice about our issues with the meal, it wasn't her fault of course that it wasn't cooked correctly, so my wife re-ordered, two eggs, scrambled and wheat toast. Easy right? Can't mess that up, right? WRONG. The eggs were dry and essentially flavorless and the toast wasn't toast. Seriously, it was bread! They didn't bother to toast the toast! Oh, and when the manager brought them he was frowning, grumpy and practically dropped them on the table. Not a word of apology for messing up the order, not any bit of care, and that's just as bad as the rest of it. If you don't care enough to apologize when your cooks mess up an order, then just let the server bring the food, she was at least friendly! Again, service was fine, but the food? When I go out to eat I expect some form of quality in exchange for the money I spent. This is not it. Not at all. I'm pretty sure the McDonalds has better tasting stuff. I had a half order of the blueberry, and a half order of the cinnabun. Blueberry was boring and tasteless. Cinnabun was very sweet, but I wouldn't say it was delicious. The staff was super nice and friendly, but the cooks were crap. We ordered it to go and they did NOT do a good packing job. I am very dissapointed in this location. Running out of menu items is one thing (it happens). You do not leave someone waiting 45 minutes for a carry out order and not tell them you don't have what they ordered. I wonder how long they would have left me sitting there (after I paid) if I hadn't heard them telling another customer they were out. If they had told me I would have ordered something different. My experience was so bad here I plan to actually write Ihop about it! We were sat right away, we were greeted by our server right away and he was very polite and at first attentive, and that is all the good I can say for this visit. We both ordered breakfast and coffee. I asked for bacon instead of sausage with the biscuit and gravy breakfast and he said ok and repeated that back to me and I aked for onions in my hash browns and he repeated that back as well. Off he went and in about 20ish minutes he returns with our food and here comes the wretchedness folx...... 1st there are 4 sausage links on the sausage gravy plate so I had him take that and get me bacon to which he replied that I told him I wanted my sausage well done.......2nd we bite into our food and it is not even warm, hashbrowns cold (and shocker my onions non existent) nothing worse then cold eggs, he comes back with bacon and my sausage gravy and biscuits, now he runs away and my sausage gravy is even colder then everything else, so I send it back (I am a server folks so I try not to do this sorta thing, but I also can't stand eating cold food) furthermore when he came to the table my honey told him that all the food was cold but the server chose to only pay attention to my issues. After he left a manager came out and told us he would remake our eggs and hashbrowns and why would we want to wait 20 more minutes for food we have already decided to just eat, so we said no thanks and as he walked away he said he would personally make sure my biscuits and gravy came out hot.......took at least 20 mins (why not just nuke it folx at this rate it couldn't suck worse) 20 mins!!! and it was colder then my first one! and we asked for a box and ugh just the worst all around service and food experience I have had in a long time. So the manager never bothered to even tell us how he would fix it, but he did take 50% off of our bill and we had a 20% coupon so at least we didn't pay a fortune for horrid food and service. My honey wasn't going to tip and me being a server I couldn't not leave him something even though he wasn't very good so he got a $1ish. Anywho my parents finally went over the past weekend. And there experience was disastrous. They were about to finish eating when they spotted a cockroach on the wall of the restaurant. Tonight we went in 30 minutes AFTER we were quoted 20 min and the cashier said they never got the order.... when i called and placed the order over the phone. Let me start by saying that I have always loved Ihop and was very happy to hear about their new location on Renner Road. I've been here twice and both experiences were vastly different. First, I'll mention my initial (good) visit. The second visit was awful. Visit 1- No wait for a table. We went on a Thursday at around 9pm. It wasn't too crowded but there were a good number a folks there. Our server, Mary, was great! She was on top of everything and was very nice. The place was clean and the manager made sure to stop by our table to check on us too. I ordered the ham and egg melt with french fries and a Pepsi. My friend, who came along with me, got a coffee and the french toast breakfast. Our food came pretty quickly. It was warm and everything was just as we ordered. I left full and happy. However, my next visit made me reconsider this place. Visit 2- What happened, Ihop? I mean, really? My friend and I (the same friend as before) visited about two months later on a Saturday at around 7pm. Again, no wait for a table and the place wasn't too crazy. I hoped to have Mary again but she was not there. Instead, we had a young girl who seemed a bit clueless. I ordered my Pepsi and my friend ordered a coffee to start. When she got her coffee is was cold. I mean, not even warm at all. We asked for another and the waitress brought more but still, it was just luke warm. My friend just decided to drink it anyway. When we ordered, I got my usual ham and egg melt with fries. My friend, a vegetarian, wanted to try it too but asked to have it with no ham (so it would basically be just sourdough bread, egg, Swiss and American cheese). The waitress gave her a snide look, like my friend did something wrong. We ignored that and patiently waited for out food. I don't know why but it took forever! When the food finally came, it was cold!!! We brought it to the waitress' attention and she took it back. I think she just popped it in the microwave and brought it back out to us. By this time, we were starving and were just ready to eat and leave. Well.....that's the last we saw of out waitress for a half an hour and I am NOT exaggerating. My drink was empty, we were finishing up and wanted our check. No sign of the girl. Other waitresses were serving their tables. Finally after 30 minutes our waitress came back. Turns out, she went on a smoke break and decided to call her boyfriend while she was gone (that's really what she said). I think she thought we'd be okay with basically being abandoned. Anyway, we got our check (all on one) and paid with cash. Our total came to $32.20 and I gave her $35 (1 twenty, a ten and a 5). As I waited for my change she returned to our table with $2 and said, "Here's your change, I know it was suppose to be $2.80 but I just don't have .80 cents to give. Have a great day." What? My friend and I just looked at each other in disbelief. Did this girl just keep my .80 cents as a tip or something? Not that .80 cents is a HUGE deal but really, what was that? I was so confused. We left as very unhappy customers and haven't been back since. I'm going to give them some time to get it together. read more

Came in this morning and notice there were no servant to greet you or ask for a table this place is -10 I gave it , when you want breakfast you expected to be service , but when there is a lack of poor service means they don't really care about there job they just there to collect there pay checks but not about there jobs that they are suppose to do . But when my 14 year old niece got a hair in her Mac N Cheese, the manager said sorry, but did NOT do anything for us in terms of the bill. Her meal was a few bucks. We shouldn't have had to pay! Yes, they replaced it (she ate less than half), but most places will replace your meal and also take it off the bill because of the inconvenience. We've gone to this place several times. We do not live in the area, but make a point to hit this place when we are in the area. The atmosphere is pleasant and there's plenty of space. The servers and hosts have always been pleasant. The food is great if you like this kind of food. I'm from Houston and they have these all over, so it's a special treat to go here and the food does not disappoint. It's an IHOP with typical IHOP food, so no surprises there. The one thing that sets this location apart, however, is the lack of staff and/or the lackadaisical attitude of those actually there. My family has eaten dinner here on three different occasions, and each time it's been disappointing. Twice we stood at the entrance for 5 minutes with nobody there to greet us, and the other time we waited 10 minutes for a table in a nearly empty restaurant. Once we've been seated, the service is always slow regardless of the lack of other customers. The only reason we keep coming back is because it's never busy in the evening. The food is decent enough, but the service is terribly slow. It took me 3 attempts to call in an order. The first time I was immediately placed on hold and waited for 5 minutes before hanging up. I called back and let the phone ring for a solid minute before giving up. I called a few minutes later and was immediately placed on hold again, this time for 7 minutes before giving up again. The third time I called, they tried placing me on hold again, but I told them I had already waited nearly 15 and wanted to place my order. The girl told me she was just a hostesses and couldn't take my order, and that she didn't know why the servers weren't coming to the phone. I asked to speak with a manager. Again, I was put on hold, but at lest he eventually came to the phone. I asked if I would be able to place an order with him and he said yes, then immediately put me on hold again. Fortunately he returned a few seconds later, I asked if I could place my order, and 3 guesses what happened? At this point I'm convinced they're trying to train me like a pavlovian dog, and one that's clearly glutton for punishment. I refuse to wait again, because these guys place more holds than suspicious activity on my debit card. He takes my order. I think it's over, but like the stupid blond girl in every horror movie, I'm realizing there's still a threat. We (my boyfriend and I) arrive 20 minutes later to an only half full parking lot, and we can see in the windows that only about 1/3 of the seats are occupied. Surely we'll be in and out. And we were, 25 minutes later. My food sat there for 25 minutes. There were 10 tables (that's being generous), 1 hostess, 1 manager, and 4-5 servers, and somehow it took 25 to help us and get food that was already sitting on the counter to me. Each time I call in orders here I receive terrible service. If I wasn't pregnant and could find another option that sounded appetizing I would have avoided this place like the terribly serviced, sad over-the-pants hj of a plague it is. Over an hour later, I'm finally sitting down to "enjoy" my food. But I'm sure the sequel, "I-nope: I-hop's Revenge" will be waiting to screw me one last time like a 37 year old prostitute as soon as I open these boxes. Cheers to cold eggs! read more

We just left the Hilliard Rome location and we had such a bad/embarrassing experience. My friend used to work for IHOP, but at a different location. He commented to our server that the manager there (Penny) was rather mean to him when he worked for her. Our waitress goes to the back and tells Penny what he said. Then Penny (the manager) comes out and starts going off on my friend in front of the restaurant. It was so unprofessional and awful that a lady talks the way she does. I used to live up in the Akron area which has about 3 Ihops within a 30 minute drive area, so when I heard that there was an IHOP being built in Hilliard I was stoked. I've been to this location twice since it opened and both times have been an utter disappointment. From the non-caring waitstaff to the 40 minute wait for food, I was completely unimpressed. I went with my family both times; Once when it first opened, and the next just last night. After the second time, we decided we will not be coming back, and instead will be going to the Perkins right across the street. I can forgive our first visit since it was when they first opened and it can be hectic and people are still new. So I will be writing about my second visit. When we first arrived the hostess didn't really seem to care that we were there, not saying hello or "welcome, in fact she didn't say anything at all. Our server, though was at our table almost immediately to get our drinks (although we only saw her twice more and that was it). After waiting for the server for another fifteen minutes to take our order, we began our long wait for our food. She came by once to refill our drinks and tell us they were backed up and it would be "a few minutes" for our food. About 40 minutes later (right before I was ready to get up and leave) they finally brought out our meal. The strange thing is, is that it seemed like our food had been sitting out for about 20 minutes because it was the furthest thing from "fresh". My kid's eggs looked dry and hard (like they had been sitting out) my eggs were covered in grease, and my wife's fried steak was chewy. Not to mention the bacon could have cut diamond and was practically burnt. However the pancakes were good, and my french toast was decent. If you're hankering for some pancakes or cheapish food then you would be better off going to the Perkins across the street as I can't recommend this place to anybody. Perhaps the service will get better as the staff gets more experience, but I won't be coming back unless they get their act together. read more
