Oh where to start.The food that came out was not made correctly. It was supposed to have red smashed potatoes and bacon w a cream sauce. They brought hash browns with my steak and the server tried to say they just didn't smash them enough. She became angry and unfriendly as did the manager. They said it was a new cook. Didnt offer to fix the problem just asked us to leave. So bad service from management all the way down to servers. read more

I wouldn't even give them a star. I've been to a lot of iHop's in my time and they are all poorly managed, the staff is slow, and they continuously mess up the food. But this takes the cake. I'd have better luck at McDonalds. Just so y'all are aware, the lady you refused to feed, even though her food was paid for by Melissa, deserves your job more than you. All she was trying to do was a feed a homeless woman. Enjoy ruining people's day with your terrible customer service and lack of sympathy. I have to say I was very disappointed in the situation. Would give negative stars if I could! May have been my worst dining experience ever! Note that it was NOT the server - but rather something more insidious- a problem with the operation of the whole restaurant! Let me explain. My wife and I went on a Sunday morning about 10:30 and was told the wait would be about 10 minutes- which it was. So seated at approximately 10:45 - having looked at the menu beforehand, we placed our order as soon as the waitress arrived. Nothing "not on the menu" or requiring special preparation- just pancakes and eggs!! At 11:15 it had been approximately 1/2 hour since placing our order - no food. At 11:25 we noticed that a couple who had come in about 5 minutes after us had received their food - not us. The waitress meanwhile was very apologetic and said she had been checking on our order. 5 minutes later - now approximately 45 minutes after placing our order we noticed a table of 3 who came in about 15 minutes after us was getting their food!! A couple - sitting across from us- who came in about 20 minutes after us was grumbling about the wait and was rather loudly remarking about leaving....when the kitchen doors swung open....our server with food in hand....for the couple sitting across from us!!!!!!! We promptly got up and told her we were leaving....again she was very apologetic and made some vague comment about there being 2 kitchen "halves"(?). One was apparently working....the other obviously not so much!!! I cannot more strongly advise against patronizing this establishment!! Won't be back! read more

The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because I feel bad for our sever. He was obviously new and left to the wolves. It wasn't busy. We were the only table besides 3 others at 8PM on a Thursday. We came for all you can eat pancakes.. 4 the first time, and 2 the second time. If it's all you can eat it shouldn't be limited and it shouldn't take over a half hour in between plates. I think management probably needs an over haul. Good thing I wasn't starving and good thing I didn't have an asshole child with me making a scene. Definitely won't be back. read more

I just sent the letter below to IHOP corporate... So the "Charity" the Hilliard, Ohio Location chose for today's National Pancake Day was PDHC? I came and ate today because my friend is a Mason and a Shriner, who expected we'd be donating to The Children's Miracle Network or something similar. I can't tell you how appalled we were to find that this restaurant and it's owners (franchisees, I'm assuming) chose a very right-wing, pro-life, anti-abortion organization disguised as a Pregnancy Help Center. I'm not a liberal nut or a rabid complainer by any means. I'm not looking for anything for free. I just think it's bad business to publicly support an organization that cloaks themselves as a "Woman's Help Center". The Woman who visit these centers are often at their most vulnerable and in need of real help...not anti-abortion propaganda. I will never visit this location again, and will make sure I tell everyone I know about my experience. I'm a local business owner here in Columbus with 6 locations, and can't even wrap my mind around the fact they made such a poor, poor business decision. read more

We have been to the Renner Road IHOP several times since they opened but it has been a couple of months since we were there. Decided to eat there last night. The first clue that something was wrong is that there were only 7 cars in the parking lot.....at 6:45pm. After being seated right away we waited 10 minutes for our waitress to make an appearance. We got our drinks and place the food order, nothing complicated just eggs and pancakes, then waited for the food. After about 10 minutes waitress assures us the order is almost ready. After another 10 minutes waitress comes around and assures us again that the food is about ready. After another 10-15 minutes we manage to find our waitress, who is avoiding us by now and we ask her if there is any food being delivered to our table in the near future; she runs back to the kitchen. We wait 5 more minutes...no waitress and no food. We left and went to another restaurant that actually knew how to serve food. Message to IHOP corporate management...fire every freaking soul in that store and start all over again. To the general public, if you are in the Hilliard area and have a craving for pancakes go to Perkins. I'm giving them 1 star only because I can't go any lower. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast and had a terrible experience. We have never had an issue at any other Ihop in any other state. We ordered pancakes and waited 35 min for them. When they came out they were cold and my boyfriends were rock hard. They ook them back and 20 min later brought him out new ones. The manager was rude and so was our server. Never going back to this location! read more

They werent busy, it took 15 minutes for a server to approach us to take our order, we ordered drinks and food at the same time. 45 minutes later our cold eggs and hash browns came out. 15 minutes after that the pancakes they forgot came out.....go to the Ihop in Pickerington...seriously. read more

Not good, my Friday night stop after the Hilliard fireworks was not good. I have had back luck every time I have gone to this IHOP. My wife wanted to stop - so we did. It took quite a while to get our order. Her order of pancakes were supposed to have nuts and blueberries in them and bananas on top. Uh they were plain pancakes - it took them 3 tries and still could not get it right! Whatever , I new it is always something wrong there. As I looked around they were starting to get busy. They were already understaffed so I was glad to be paying my bill and getting ready to leave. The thing I noticed was a manager appeared from who knows where. He was seating some people but mostly stood around watching every one - not helping anybody! He could have helped his staff, but chose to just look cool doing nothing ! When I left there were about 15 people waiting in line for a table which was crazy because there were about 10 tables available - just no staff. read more

This restaurant was subpar at best. Our waitress wasn't trained and the food took an hour to come out for 3 people. When the food eventually did come out, it was cold. I would definitely try to find a different IHOP or a nicer establishment. read more

The service here is really bad. Waited almost 30 minutes before the food came out. And I just started eating the food and the left the check on my table like seriously what if I have to order something else. I am eating with family and kids you never know when the kids would want something else to eat! IHOP is good but this IHOP service is just bad. read more

Had talked w/ district manager earlier in year after another unpleasant trip (completely wrong order, cold coffee, poor service) since this review posted. He was very responsive and well aware of the challenges this location was dealing with and said he was working to quickly get them corrected. Went back again last week. Much improved service. Manager very visible in dining area helping to clear tables and keep things moving. We had great. prompt service. Coffee was hot. Orders came out hot and exactly as ordered. Waitress kept checking back to make sure all was ok. Much improved. read more

NEVER GO HERE. We waited ten minutes for someone to come up and seat us. The table wasn't cleaned yet and then sat for close to 30 minutes with no greeting or anything. We ended up getting up and leaving. There is no excuse for that kind of service. read more

I would first like to start off by saying I was a waitress for 8 years. After waitressing I was an assistant manager (for one of Ihops competitors) when I moved to Columbus. My boyfriend was also a server throughout his college years. I don't mean to sound unreasonable, but this trip to Ihop was horrendous. We arrived at the restaurant around 10:45pm on a Saturday. I saw four servers which was more than enough for the amount of customers they had. We waited at the door without being greeted for multiple minutes. Eventually the manager came over and sat us and let us know that our server would be right with us. We quickly looked at the menu and waited to find out who our server was going to be. I would also like to mention that it was FREEZING in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I both ate with our coats on. I even had a thick scarf on and I was still cold! Finally, our waitress came to our table and introduced herself. She saw that our menus were closed and asked us if we were ready to order. I ordered the loaded potato soup with a half pot roast melt sandwich and a water with lemmon. I asked that my soup be brought out first. When my boyfriend ordered he told her he wanted the same thing except instead of Swiss and American cheeses on his sandwich he wanted Swiss and cheddar. She was easily confused and let us know that she was still kinda new. We also ordered a side of fries. She repeated the order back to him and then left the table. When she left, before making it to the POS system to ring in our order it seemed like she had a disagreement with another server. She dropped off our drinks, left for awhile and then came back. She was confused about the soup and sandwich with the cheese substitution and thought he wanted to add American cheese to his soup (he ordered his sandwich no American cheese sub cheddar). After clearing up the confusion she left again and didn't come back for awhile. We waited over ten minutes to get our soup that we asked for first. Finally when we did get it was barely look warm. In my opinion, soup is supposed to be hot! I ate it as fast as I could (I was already irritated and starving by this time - I just wanted to eat and get home). Our 1/2 pot roast melts were delivered by another server about five minutes later. I will give them this, the sandwiches were hot, but the presentation was not. We realized they never gave us the side of fries that we ordered but the server didn't stop by our table until we were done eating. She then asked us if we would like and dessert. I declined and told her we never received the fries and I wanted to take them off of my bill. She told me she wanted to make sure the check was correct and that she would be right back. She quickly came back (the quickest thing she did all night). Honestly, I doubt the fries were ever even rang in. She let us know she was also going to be our cashier (oh joy!) and she would take the bill when we were ready. The bill came to $14 and some change (nowhere near worth that). Considering my boyfriend and I were both servers, we don't believe in not tipping - regardless of the service but the thought of only giving her $16 and telling her to keep the change did cross my mind. We decided that would be rude so we gave her $20 and wanted change back to leave her with $3.00. It took her FOREVER to cash out or check, she had to borrow change from another server and then attended to another table instead of giving us back our change. Considering its the holidays we said screw it and got up and left. I mentioned earlier that I saw the waitress arguing with another server, that happened twice. The floor in the restaurant was disgusting and the manager was definitely nothing to brag about. I haven't had their breakfast in a few years but now I'm doubting that I would even want to try- especially at this location! I've eaten at Perkins for breakfast multiple times and it was delicious. I also know that Bob Evans breakfast is great, too. Why even consider Ihop when those two are right down the street. I think I might even write to Ihop about just how awful this experience turned out to be. We left cold, unhappy and still hungry. read more

Went with family for dinner. Chose IHOP because we had never ate there before. And must say probably never will again. Wasn't super busy no wait to get seated and only about 3/4 full. Ordered fairly quickly appetizers took forever then never thought main dishes would ever come out. Ordered beef tips dinner for one that tasted horrible. Had so much sugar as a seasoning which I've never tasted on steak like that and hope no other restaurant does instant mashed potatoes. Another ordered BLT with fries. Temperature of fries was COLD. How does it take forever to get then ended up cold. Check was delivered immediately after main course which I took as bad service and hint to hurry up and leave. Not to mention how much it cost to eat cold and unappetizing food. First and last time at IHOP for us. read more

The service here is completely atrocious. The last time we came here, in early September, we brought my sister and niece from out of state and waited over an hour for our food at breakfast. Granted the restaurant is busy and gets full, a 15-20 minute wait would be acceptable with a full restaurant but no breakfast item takes that long to make. The only reason we finally got it an hour and 10 minutes later was because we said something to the manager at 45 minutes. This morning we went again, about 5-10 minutes to wait to be seated which wasn't bad, but then after we ordered we waited 40 minutes for our food which never showed up for 2 adults and 1 kid, and finally got up and walked out. When we stopped at the front to tell the manager we were leaving and why and offered to pay for our drinks(because that was all we got)all she said was, "we'll take care of it." No apologies, no anything else but they would cover our OJ, milk and one coffee. We will not be returning. read more
