Fairly new so sad floors are filthy and garbage through all areas of floor under front door benches and front rug at reception is filty....so sad and staff look so ghetto and unwelcoming especially woman at front with batting lashes. Wow will never return here again so sad. read more

Pancakes were ok but expensive. Chicken was raw, sent it back to the kitchen and they returned with ok chicken but cold (frozen) bread. Service took a long time. we will not be returning read more

The restaurant is fairly new & is nicely decorated. Our waiter was very attentive & friendly. The food--waffle, bacon & eggs over easy & omelet with hash browns & drinks--soda & iced tea were good. Dishes & silverware were clean. We were the only customers at first at 6:15 pm on a Sunday which had us worried. A few patrons (filling 2 tables) came in to eat while we were there. The real problem at this point is a terrible odor (think gas station bathroom) as you enter front of the restaurant which only gets slightly better in the dining room. We wanted to leave, but we had been looking forward to the opening of a local I Hop because we usually like their food. We don't know how they can stay in business without fixing their plumbing. Our suggestion is to have a plumber look into a possible sewer gas leakage problem. A terrible stench is trapped in those pipes somewhere and could well be the demise of this business. Two stars for pleasant waiter & good food. Hoping the problems are fixed here. read more

IHOP in Danbury just opened, what a disappointment. Sunday morning you expect it to be busy. They should give real wait times, telling people it's a 15-20 min wait when in reality it was 30-45 min wait. The place was mobbed! We were not in a hurry but it's annoying when your waiting longer then quoted. Anyway the food took forever and it was cold. They obviously made the pancakes ahead of time in batches because they were not fresh. In the past I love the boysenberry syrup (my whole reason for liking IHOP) and they don't carry it anymore. For two of us including tip it cost $42. The staff was friendly, apologetic, and looked like they were trying their best but it just was not the IHOP experience I was expecting. For only being open 2 weeks you think there would have been more of a manager presence, I don't even think there was one there. Not the best "Grand opening" I have seen, there should have been more organization. I'm really disappointed, especially because we have been waiting for a IHOP to open around here for a long time. I could have gone to the diner, spent less money, and had a hot meal (cold eggs are gross). I will not be returning. Also I tried to sign up for points and pay our bill on the phone, (the code to sign up was on every table) but the Danbury store is not set up yet! So take the stickers off the table until it actually works! read more

I've always been a fan of IHop's buttermilk pancakes, so I was excited to hear this IHop was opening in Danbury. The reviews I'd read about it didn't bother me since they were written during the restaurant's initial opening, and there are always wrinkles to be ironed out at first. The staff today was all very nice, polite and hospitable. The food was good. What did bother me to the point of giving only 2 stars was the heat (those reviews indicating 85 degrees inside weren't kidding) and the lack of circulation. To make matters worse, someone had used the restroom and the fan system, had one been turned on, could have / should have taken care of the leftover odor permeating throughout the restaurant. Seriously, I hate to bring something like that up since most times bowel movements cannot be prevented, but the smell literally ruined my breakfast. I was forever cured of my hopeless fetish of IHop's buttermilk pancakes after this visit; but if anyone who works at this IHop reads my review, perhaps they will be able to persuade management to turn on - or have installed - the fans or some sort of circulation system in the building. Not only will it help prevent stagnant air, but the white noise will take care of the loud silence in the room between the tables. I wish IHop the best; I personally won't be back, but I do hope this Danbury IHop succeeds. I did give an extra star for those wonderful buttermilk pancakes. read more

They really should have done a soft opening to work out all the bugs and make sure they had enough staff to handle the demand. I realize a new location requires some tweaking but being a franchise you would think they would know what to expect. I wanted to place an order online for pickup (lunch) but that was not available either through their website or app. So I called and it went directly to voicemail. I decide to just go there and order. When I walked in there was about twenty people standing or sitting around waiting. But the nice manager noticed me and I placed an order she said would only take about five minutes. I took a seat in the waiting area and just watched people getting more and more frustrated, they were told 15-20 minute waits to be seated and that was not happening, a few just gave up and left. The manager was trying her best but was totally overwhelmed, I felt bad for her. I sat there quietly and 25 minutes later my "to go" order showed up. I am only a few minutes from my business where I had planned to eat, when I opened the foot was totally cold. I really hope they get it together. read more

The food was incredibly mediocre. And the service was terrible. First of all, the waiter forgot half of my friends meal. She ordered a Belgium waffle combo and only brought the waffle. Completly forgetting the eggs, the toast, and the bacon. My friend had to ask 2 different waiters for the rest of her food. The second waiter she asked brought just toast back faster than our actual waiter. Then our normal waiter brought out the rest of her food and even more bread. If I was going to but a loaf of bread I would've just gone to my local Big Y.Also both waiters were blaming this on the kitchen. May I mention the wait time just in general, the lady at the front counter was telling everyone it was a 15 minute wait time even though the whole front area was packed with limited standing space. Second, my other friend asked for another water twice because they forgot it the 2 times the waiter came back to the table. When she finally got her water the waiter knocked over a small cup of salsa which then got over my friends pants and shoes then onto the floor. He didn't even bother to clean it up and made it sound like he wanted us to clean it. "I'll get you guys some more napkins for that." Your mess, i'm not cleaning it up. It was still all over the floor as we left, not only was that gross it also wasn't safe, it was in the middle of the walkway and someone could've definitely slipped. Finally, when we asked for the check it took him 5 minutes to come back to the table only to forget the check he was supposed to bring us. Then finally came back 2 minutes later with the check. I would just like to note, I did not like how yellow the eggs were. There was also a waitress who had her airpods in her ears witch cause her not to hear some customers orders the first time. I'm all for letting people do what makes them happy but if it's effecting the way they work at their job then they should revise what they are doing. Overall this experience was pretty bad. This will be the last time i'm coming to this establishment. read more
