CHILAQUILES
Rachel E.

Who would have thought I'd find delicious and authentic Mexican chilaquiles at a diner restaurant? The green sauce has the perfect combination of sourness and spiciness from the green tomatillos and peppers; of course, they wouldn't be authentic if they didn't come out with sunny-side-up eggs on top. I recommend asking for lots of extra cheese and sour cream on your chilaquiles, always! I also recommend trying one of their milkshakes; they have a monthly special, but I still went for the Oreo and Nutella milkshake. If you like sweets, you will love this one! The orange juice was freshly squeezed and all-natural; it was really good, just a little pricey for a small glass. Our server was incredible, very welcoming, and super friendly. Thankfully, there was no waiting time, quiet atmosphere.

I love this diner! This time, I tried the chicken souvlaki and omitted the pita bread. It was so good and tasty, and the tzatziki sauce that came with it complemented the dish well. I also had the split pea soup the 2nd time, and this was one of the best split peas I've ever had. It was a nice, quiet late lunch, and the service was great as usual.

I met up with my close friend over brunch at this diner. Very friendly staff and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The cappuccinos were excellent. The food was really good too. Very nice diner with convenient parking lot. I would return if in the area!

The blueberry milkshake. Wow.

I have been wanting to go to the diner ever since it opened and was excited to meet a group of friends there for dinner. There were 5 of us. From the seating to the goodbyes, we had a great time here. They gave us plenty of time to order while we caught up with each of us. We couldn't make up our minds whether to order their killer shakes for dinner, or to wait for dessert. We decided to bring them on. All of us were blown away by these special shakes. I got the blueberry and it was like nectar of the gods. Expensive at $10, yes, but you have to try one and then you'll understand. Or split one, which they allow. For dinner we order burgers, salads, wraps and all were top-notch. The menu is impressive and different from most diners in that the menu choices were manageable at 2 pages (front and back) instead of the usual book of items you sift through at other diners. While eating the staff checked on us, filled our water glasses, and were friendly and funny. I want to go back now for breakfast.

Excellent service and ambiance but the food lacks. The hash browns are very bland along with the omelette. A little bit on the pricey side for what you get.

Chocolate Shake- wonderful!

Great diner in Danbury! We had heard the hype about their amazing shakes and my kids had been asking to try them out. The only reason I took one star of is the parking situation. Their lot is very small on a busier street and it was a pain finding parking. We had to go around the block twice and finally we scored a spot. Phew.... Once inside all was grand but the parking makes it a headache as far as running to go back here. Staff from the front door to waitress and owners were all so friendly and welcoming. Really nice vibe and quite clean and modern looking inside with nice decor for a diner. It's a smaller diner but they fit people in quickly and get food and drinks out efficiently. They definitely have a following of people and it was busy on a weekend afternoon when we went for lunch. Shakes- amazing and worth the hype! My oldest said it was the best shake he has ever had. I only got to taste and didn't get my own but it is on the docket for next time! Food was all typical diner fare. We all enjoyed our sandwiches and kids meals. One of the staff told my kids he would give them $100 if they finished their food- and he delivered with a cute diner $100 bill. Nice touches all around, good food, amazing shakes, and friendly staff. This diner is one we will DEFINITELY come back to! Thanks for the hospitality New Holiday!

Renovation extraordinaire.

Excellent breakfast experience. We had pancakes and bacon and avocado toast with the freshest pico de gallo I have ever had. Wait staff and owner were very friendly and accommodating. Recent renovation is sharp. Cool music playing and a general easy vibe.

Honey ricotta toast with eggs ( over hard) and a side of sausage and vanilla cappuccino!!!

The menu is varied to the point of having difficulty choosing. We chose Hungarian stuffed cabbage and trio salad. HUGE portions are their signature. My meal came with a cup of soup & I chose matzo ball. Also, I chose baked potato and chickpea salad and a side tossed salad. I do not eat processed sugar and they had oil and vinegar to dress the tossed salad. We had 2 large pieces of challah bread with it and hubby had half of a lemon danish for his dessert, saving the rest for tonight. The bakery section is very impressive and I would have had a very hard time back in my sugar addicted days. This place is already on my calendar for next year's return. I had a neat conversation with our waitress about Amorgos and Santorini Greece. This family does a great job of serving the community!

Once…read moreyou go in, you can't help but not miss the confection of cookies and muffins at the front counter. The London broil wrap was cooked well, but I eventually had to eat it with a fork and knife because it was so oily. Overall, a good selection of your typical diner offerings of wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and salads that make them a reliable staple most anywhere. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

No more. I've given up on this place. I went a few times in the past and it was "good enough."…read moreUnfortunately, the two most recent times I walked out very frustrated. Today, I ordered Crab Cakes Benedict and as they were being brought to the table I smelled a strong fishy smell and I have a weak sense of smell. I took one bite and lo and behold, it tasted off. I let them know and asked for just regular Eggs Benedict. She asked if I wanted Canadian Bacon and I asked for other options, and decided on regular bacon. I waited a little bit and they brought it out with Canadian Bacon, not regular bacon, I was about to just take it off and eat it but the girl realized her mistake and said she would fix it. By the time they brought out the "third" version we barely had any time left. It comes time to pay and the bill has Crab Cakes Benedict $20. I mentioned it to the server because what I ate was cheaper and she said "the kitchen told me to charge you that." Excuse me?! You mean the fishy, old crabcakes that could have gotten me sick? Not to mention the inconvenience of waiting. I honestly couldn't believe the audacity. Also, SHAME ON THEM for trying to get away with that--what about someone else that doesn't notice or just acquiesces to not be a bother. Also, two weeks prior when we went, we were about 50% done with our meal and my young daughter suddenly had to use the restroom--I left my keys on the table and smiled at the servers on our way to the bathroom. I come back and our food was thrown out and my keys were at the hostess stand. Really?? They offered to remake the food after the fact but I had to get my daughter to school and we didn't have time. Never again Edit to add my response to the owner's reply: Ron, I'm happy for you and your crab cake business. I love crab cakes which is why I ordered them--there's absolutely no reason for me to not eat them after ordering. To reiterate, within the first bite, I noticed they tasted off, smelled off too--I didn't care to chance food poisoning. In your reply to my review, your accusation that I'm "trying to hurt a small business" is an interesting, if not telling choice of language and one that's quite incendiary. I posted my review on Google & Yelp, the two places that I use for reference. It's curious that you view this as an attempt to essentially dismantle your business. Review systems were put in place so that people can share their experiences and that is exactly what I have done.
