In this case, it's necessary based on trying to resolve the issue with the IHOP Gulfport manager but instead was rudely and unprofessionally hung up on after requesting to speak with the manager. Visited during Spring Break and had a great experience. The place was packed, but the team worked like clockwork. Service was excellent and the staff handled the rush professionally. The food was lukewarm at best, except for the grits. I ordered sausage but I got bacon. The toast was barely buttered. The decaf coffee was bitter, even with creamer (which I usually don't use). This location has seriously declined over the last few years to the point that I won't return. There are too many better options nearby. I should have taken photos but didn't. When we first walked in they said they would be right with us...3 or 4 times...they weren't. There were only two tables of patrons with a total of maybe 7 customers, not counting us. When they finally offered to seat us, we were told that we could sit "anywhere you want...that's clean..." That actually was a more difficult task than one would hope at 5AM. Most tables were dirty as was the floor. And I don't even want to guess the last time the windows were cleaned. The excuse was, of course, that they had been there since 10PM and had been really busy. After the 4th time of assuring us she would be "right with us," (and this was AFTER we were finally seated) our server finally came to the table, offered (still wet) menus and sat at the booth across from us while offering to take our drink order. We ordered 3 waters, one regular and one decaf coffee. Easy enough, right? NOPE! We got 2 waters plus the coffee And when she offered refills, my brother (the regular drinker) declined but she brought it to him anyway... Then came the food order...my sister ordered an omelette with ham, tomatoes, and cheese...the server commented "that's easy!" and then promptly asked her FOUR times to repeat her order! With each order of pancakes she asked if we wanted her to butter those for us (in all fairness, if she does that (presumably while they are fresh and hot), the butter melts on them...she buttered NONE. OF. THEM! We had to ask for flatware twice and the second time she said they didn't have any metal utensils but they had plastic ("that'll be okay, right?") but then brought metal and said "I know I said we only have plastic but I just found these"...she assured us they were clean Now the kicker...almost immediately after taking our order she asked if we would go ahead and settle our bill because she had to leave for PT and had to cash out before she could go. Not acceptable practice, IMO, and yes, I've worked food service. We did agree because she clearly needed PT. Before we could finish our meal, our server and the only other one on duty started squabbling, in the dining room, in front of us, about who does or doesn't do their job... She did offer us a 10% discount for our wait but even with that they really don't rate 1 star for today, IMO. Loud environment with workers screaming jokes and laughing at them and after me and my crew left a angry black lady with a pixie cut followed us outside and said that they work for tips. Tips are NOT MANDATORY. If she would've said it in a nicer way we would've gave her some via cashapp or another paying app because in 2026 no one rarely carries cash therefore that's why she was not tipped and tipping is for extraordinary service not mediocre half-ass work. read more

I had breakfast here. The first thing that impressed me was all the tables had an empty coffee decanter on them. When I was seated, the waitress took the decanter and filled it with coffee. She returned poured the coffee and left the full decanter on the table. She also provided enough cream and sugar to satisfy me (and I use alot of both). As the meal went on, it was clear I could have asked for more of each should I have wanted it. I had scrambled eggs loaded with bacon, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. There was one container of gravy on the side. When I was served the waitress put the meal down the said "I brought another Gravy" showing it to me in her hand. "should I leave it". Of course I took it. She never bothered me again because it was obvious I was enjoying my meal. However, several times we made eye contact to the point that I knew if I wanted anything a could signal or ask. It was a good relaxed pleasant uninterrupted breakfast. When I finished, I placed the dishes to the side out from in front of me. As soon as I did, she cleared them away. I still had the coffee in front of me. As she cleared the table, she put the bill tray down and said I will be your cashier. I put the bill plus a tip in the tray. I quietly finished the coffee. When I put the money in the tray, she came by and picked it up. I told her I needed no change. I was thanked and not bothered again. It was service that you would expect in a 5 star restaurant. I haven't been to an IHOP for awhile. On our travels it was the perfect destination for us. We were tired, hungry and they were a site for sore eyes. Few guests were there at this hour but we were great with smiles. I had crapes with strawberries and an Oreo shake. Crazy cravings, right? My family and I went to eat breakfast around 9AM, they made us wait over an hour and didn't sit us in a table meanwhile people were entering and getting seated. I went in to use the bathroom and seen 3 tables open and asked why cant we get seated there and didn't get a solid answer. My sons and I have been driving across the country from Washington state and have eaten at several restaurants during the last 11 days. We stopped into this IHOP for breakfast and it was hopping! Busy as can be. I just knew we would be waiting all morning for service. Then Chancey asked us what we would like to drink. Oh my goodness! Even though the place was packed, and people were moving like ants all over, Chancey made us feel like we were the only ones being served. This review is only to bring attention to a HORRIBLE server. It wasn't ours. Charlie was great and we love her like crazy and will always take care of her should we come in. NOW, the other server on the clock named Laura was absolutely ridiculous and rude to all of us. She straight up refused to serve us which is when Charlie took us over, she REFUSED to help Charlie with anything, and she only had one table while Charlie was dealing with us (a group of 20+). It really says something when a guest (me) has to help take orders and deliver food when you have an abled person on staff wandering around the restaurant doing nothing. But let's face it on the Mississippi Gulf Coast there is not a lot of places for Breakfast 24/7, there is Waffle House, the small all day breakfast menu at McDonalds and Cracker Barrel. Ok. So first of all it's IHOP, a known hit-or-miss venue. The appearance and smell is enough to turn you away but we had no complaints about the food. We didn't see any bugs like other reviews mention. Walking in the place, it smells damp and moldy. Like it was flooded yesterday. The typical dirtiness of the carpet and half wiped down tables was also readily apparent. The split decision breakfast was spot on. While the wait staff was friendly, our experience with the food was not what we thought it would be. Half of the food was hot and half was cold. I do not enjoy cold hashbrowns and lukewarm breakfast meats. It appeared as if the food was cooked at different times and left to sit in the window for long periods while waiting. The crepes tasted burnt in sections and like cooking spray in others. I have eaten at many different IHOPs and had many different experiences, this was in the bottom 2. This is the WORST IHOP I've ever been to. Every single night we come in here, there is only 2 servers and usually only one of them is actually working. There is also always an outrageous wait time to even be spoken to when you walk through the door. They will sit up there and ignore you standing there. Not to mention, the cooks and servers will be getting into arguments with each other, yelling and cussing. But I've been doing finger work outs so I'll try to list it all. Here we go: A, "10 minute wait" turned into a 40 minute wait, we were sat and not greeted by our server for about 15 minutes, the food ordered, came in 3 separate times (about 10 minutes apart), not to mention we were missing multiple items from the meal, no drinks, no coffee refill, no pancakes, no sausage or bacon etc. Now for the atmosphere! :) the servers along the kitchen line were running around fumbling over themselves, clearly stressed because 1/2 of the restaurant was full. Also the management was yelling across the restaurant with multiple profanities. I found this IHOP tucked away near a Walmart and it had few cars in the lot. I went in and I was seated immediately and received a warm welcome. The server made a fresh pot of tea for me and the kitchen took less than 10 minutes to prepare my meal. Everything was just how I like it and before I left, the server even made a large cup of iced tea for the road. I had a great experience here! read more

Several times I have ordered the SPICY POBLANO OMELETTE which includes Fire roasted poblano peppers, Red bell peppers, onions, and shredded beef. Along with poblano cream and chopped Serrano peppers. Seven people trekked out for breakfast on Christmas Eve. Typically my husband and I get on yelp and make a destination decision before leaving the house by finding a well reviewed restaurant. My husbands order was incorrect which they quickly fixed. My order, Light fit spinach omlette was incorrect and if I had thought about it...since it arrived with coagulated cheese to spread on topI would have realized that I probably didnt get the Light/fit version of the dish. The waitress took away the cheese and brought me fresh fruit. Over all, the food was not horrible and it was filling. The experience was not great.
