The food was good however it came out warm. The person at the counter was not nice he didn't offer a baby seat or anything. Our waiter made the experience better which is why I did give it a 3 but honestly the waiter is too good to be at an establishment like this if the manager isn't ensuring great customer service. So this is my first experience at this location and I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Arrived extremely late on a Monday evening to find that there were only a couple other people in the restaurant. Interestingly enough when we asked for a booth (in the empty restaurant) they seated us at a half booth half table right next to another customer. Our waiter was new, but is in clear need of some additional training. Plenty friendly enough, but drink orders took a long time and then sat empty for an even longer period of time. Food orders were taken, however they weren't taken very well. Two of the four orders had to get confirmed about 5 minutes after placing the order. Now that being said I can appreciate that as I would rather get the order accurate then get the wrong thing. Food took about 20 minutes to cook, which was really a surprise since it was the only order in the kitchen and everyone ordered breakfast food. Orders came out and even after double checking to confirm that they were entered right. Basically everything that was requested to be held wasn't. The food was good, even though it didn't look like the pictures on the table (see evidence picture 1 posted earlier). At no point did we get checked on during the meal. Zero interaction to find out if we needed anything or to confirm if anything was good. Once we were done eating we requested a box, which was quickly brought out and then the wait began. Approx 15 minutes for the bill??? Not really sure what was going on, but the customer service was off tonight. Like I said previously the food wasn't bad and the staff was plenty friendly enough. As soon as I went in I could tell the place was kept very clean. The customers were socially distanced and were required to wear their masks until seated. The service was good too, my server wore her mask and gloves the whole time I was there. They gave me a throw away menu to order from. There was nothing on the table when I sat down. When I ordered coffee they brought a single cup of coffee to me and a plate of sugar and creamer. There were not any community coffee pots, syrup containers, or menus in sight. Everything was brought when ordered. For breakfast I had the spicy poblano omelette. They only thing I did not care for was the meat in the omelette...I kinda question the quality of it, but I was at IHOP. Next time I'll order it without the meat. This sounds like a bad review, but I thought it was a good experience at IHOP. I could tell they cared about the CDC guidelines and were following them to the best of their ability. read more

My family and I dined at IHOP last Sunday, and the service was great. We were seated promptly, and the waiter was very kind as he took our order. Not more than 5 minutes passed between the time I placed my order and when it was brought to our table. The strawberry banana pancakes I had were delicious. When we dine here, the waitress and other staff members go out of their way to ensure that our meal is to our liking. Concerning COVID-19 measures, we saw that not all waiters wore masks and that customers weren't required to maintain a 6-foot distance from one another while waiting in line. For my own peace of mind, if I ever eat at IHOP on my own, I'll do it by ordering ahead and picking up my meal. For the most part, though, it was a great morning meal with my family. read more

Thats where the pleasant experience ended. The food was cold, nothing was prepared as ordered. We requested extra crisp bacon... had to send it back because it was as soft as a limp noodle. I have always loved this location but today was not one of its better days. I understand it was crowded but the waitress was less than helpful. I came specifically for the new Hawaiian Sweetbread French toast. While it was actually pretty good, it was served room temperature to the point my butter wouldnt melt. If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would, we are a family of 4, with an 8yr and a 2yr old. Went in for bfast early easter Sunday, the restaurant was about 1/3 full when we arrived and ordered. Thirty minutes later the restaurant was full, we saw family's order after us, EAT, and LEAVE; Yet we are still waiting for our food... Asked the server how much longer and was told the kitchen has a slow side and a fast side. HUH!! I'm not sure what that means when every table around us, who came after us, has food on the table. The server then came back the 2nd time and said that our food is on its way, 7 minutes later still nobody is walking out with our food. My wife gets up frustrated and the manager saw her and walks to our table. He walked up as we were walking out and told us your food is coming, but there is no apology from server or manager. Cabin fever...enter building... let me set the scene: front person on her cell phone but drops it when she see us.. tumble weeds blow across the floor ( nobody in there except us and 4 more customers) she gets menus and seat us, server takes our drink orders, bring the drinks..no silverware at the table so I'm sure we will get some when she brings the food ... yeah... no.. food arrives. I ordered an omelette with spinach , ham and avocados. My baby orders big 3 with bacon and milk... sausage instead of bacon , no avocados... still no silverware... I start to use the spoon that was in my drink to cut my omelette.. the most cold cheese in the world is in this omelette, we begin to eat.. we grab silverware from another table... I flag down another server and he brings the avocado, no we are just plain ready to go, food on "Nawh" service on " Hell Nawh" . So we are ready to pay the check and get out of there. Our server was in the booth in front of us answering what sounded like Interview questions from a customer. We walk up to the front desk... front person sitting in a booth eating... she gets us and tells us the server will ring out the ticket, we tell her she is sitting with a customer.. she asks us why? Really.. we don't know... somebody check us out... she goes to get the original server and interrupts her sit down conversation with the customer, we check out and leave. This was the perfect storm on bad service. We will go to the Pelham location from here on out even though this one is down the street. Too bad our usual waitress Falicitiy was not there. Took my grandchildren for elf on the shelf meals. Absolutely awful. 1 pancake and the funnel cake was about 4 bites with no fruit as shown in advertisement. Started eating crepes I had ordered and was sharing with child who had ordered funnel cake and found 2 long hairs inside of crepe. No apology. The location is very nice, and it's pretty inside since it's new. The food was hot and fresh. That's where the compliments end. - the iced coffee tasted like syrup. When I requested a different drink, the server gave me attitude and did not bring a straw with my soda. - this is NOT A VAPE FRIENDLY establishment. (The chain as a whole. It's even printed on the back of their menu!) - the server didn't check back to see how everything was, so the pancakes were not the way I wanted them. My family and I recently went to this location maybe less than 2 weeks ago on a Saturday around 11:30-12pm. It was a delightful experience. As soon as we parked it was busy. Parking lot was full of cars. As soon as we walked in and there were so many guests! But this IHOP is so huge. I don't think I've ever seen an IHOP so ginormous in my life. But we were seated right away. After we were seated our server greeted us maybe less than a minute, despite how busy they were. His name was Jesus. Loved him. Friendly, genuine and quick. Asked for our drink choice and came back so quickly. Ordered our food after receiving our drink orders. We had our entrees right in front of us in l about 10 minutes.. Maybe less than that! Literally I think we were in and out in 30minutes. Jesus constantly checked on us to make sure everything was going well. Refilled our drinks even offered to go cups. Made it clear that he was in no rush to have us leave. Great service. Definitely going to come back. Very pleased! If you ever go to this location.. Definitely ask for Jesus! read more

This is the worst IHop, I have ever gone to. My family and I made a big mistake going there. We should have left when we saw only 3 coupes there waited 10 minutes for someone to finally realize we were there. I was very disappointed with the service to begin with. When we finally got our food my steak was mildly warm. My over medium eggs had runny whites, gross. My daughters food was cold and so was my granddaughters pancakes. This location is among the best I have seen for this chain. The service has always been stellar...the hostesses are polite and efficient. We coincidentally get the same server almost every time and he remembers our favorites! The food is good...not amazing, but consistently enjoyable. They are very wiling to customize orders and I don't think we have ever been told they were out of anything or that they couldn't do some special order. Come to think of it, I started this review off with 4 stars because, well, it's IHOP and it just seems weird to give a chain like that 5. Came back for a second try last night. The food was better, but the service just wasn't there, well, maybe I should say the server hardly was. Got the chicken and waffles this time. No complaints with the food at all. Our server came to the table and took drink orders, then asked if everything was going to be on one check, and instantly asked if we were ready to order. Seriously, as soon as I said it's all on one check, we were being asked about our orders. The server then left our table, went to the one beside us, then disappeared. This became the theme for the night, and each time was gone 5 minutes or more and there were maybe only 4 tables seated in the entire restaurant. A few minutes later, she reappeared with drinks and took our order, went back to the table beside us and told them they could just pay her when they were ready and disappeared again. We didn't see her again until the food came out, which didn't take too long, but way too long for her not to come check on us. After bringing us the orders, she asked about refills, and instead of going to refill the drinks, went to the table beside us again (notice the pattern?), took their money, and disappeared. When we saw her next, she was at yet another table, getting their drink orders, but still hadn't brought ours back. Instead, she took drinks to the new table first, then brought ours over to us (hopefully none of ours were mixed with theirs), then took a receipt to the table beside us. We ask for a box to go, and she walks off to the table she'd taken the other drinks to, so she could take food orders. She disappeared for a few minutes again and reappeared with boxes and the ticket and said we could pay her when ready. I put my card on top of the check before she walked off, and she left it. So much for paying when ready. About another 5 minutes later, she came back, took the card, and came back with receipts. Other than when she took our food orders, I think we saw her a total of 2 minutes, combined. As we were leaving, I noticed a server or hostess-not sure which she was-sitting at a table near the door, just playing on her phone. Every time I go here I leave feeling sick. It isn't IHOP's fault. I eat way too much every single time. This is my son's favorite place in the whole world. Atmosphere - Very clean open diner Staff - We always seem to get seated in the same section with the same waiter. Now we don't go every week but he has learned our favorites. Went here on a Sunday around 11:30 am. The wait was only about 20 minutes, which is good for a Sunday morning, although the host said it would only be 10 minutes. The decor is bright and it still seems new. The restrooms were fine too, especially at such a busy time. I had a taste for waffles, and when I saw they had Chicken and Waffles, I decided to go with that. I also order one scrambled egg. My husband had one of the combos (scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes). He also ordered a side of grits. Everything was really good. Actually, I think the Belgian Waffle was the best one I've had! It was light and fluffy and just ever-so-slightly crunchy. With the hot syrup it was delicious. The chicken was not wings but rather chicken tenders, and they were really good too--tender and crispy. My husband enjoyed his meal and especially liked the grits. And the orange juice had a nice flavor--not bitter, not watery, not thick either--just right. Since they're open until midnight we will probably be hitting them up for some late-night breakfast from time to time. We came in to this IHOP last night after our volleyball tournament and we had 30 people. We were immediately seated and the staff explained how they would take our orders since we had such a big party. The took our drink and food orders and all the food was out in about 30 minutes. Right after we finished eating the staff took our plates and started giving our receipts and helping us pay. A great experience for such a large group of people. read more

I waited at the counter for 10 minutes before getting help to find out they only had one person out on the floor to help costumers. It's nearly 7:00am and the breakfast rush has begun and this poor man is running his tail off catering to guest at tables while trying to maintain the line at the register. I felt bad for the man but the fact they are under staffed and service was very slow is why the low rating. Patronized IHOP on Friday evening, May 3 after a Middle School play in Hoover. A tradition for the kids to stop here after opening night. Some parents were seated at a separate table. The restaurant was not busy. Maybe 3-5 tables were occupied while we came in. It took a minute for the staff to figure out who was going to greet us and wait on us. We wanted to make it easy and let the waitress know whatever would be easiest as far as ordering and billing at end would be up to her. Took about 30 minutes to get water/coffee. As a server working for customers and tips, I would think a smile and maybe some communication would be nice. None was given. The server would of rather been anybwhere else but work and she let us know. Stood at the table holding 2 cups of coffee waiting for US to take from her instead of her setting in front of us. Then order was taken and after ordering, she asked" Is that it?" Well we didn't want to be there all night. When order came out once again she couldn't place our food in front of us. Stood there waiting for us to take. When finished she asked us for the plates. Really???? This experience was the absolute worst service EVER! She then had the audacity to add 18% to each ticket. Our visit from beginning to end was 2hrs!!! Called the next day to complain about service and once again no apology but was told we should of had a reservation! Um since when does IHOP take reservations??? It was a party of 8 kids and 2 tables of 4 adults. Again separate tables. I would not give any stars for this place. Will not EVER patronize this location or any location for this matter. If you don't like your job, move on! If a manager was on staff this night he/she is just as at fault for allowing this horrible service to take place. Unacceptable in every way. read more

I called online to do a to-go order. This was around 1:40. The server who took the order told me that it would be ready for pick up in about 15-20 minutes. I reached there, and asked about the order. It is now 2:55 and they still have not brought out my order. A woman walked in from the app "waitr" for a to-go order and they brought her food out in less than a minute. Absolutely the best IHop experience I have ever had! This location is so clean and laid out much better than any other I have been in. We went on a Sunday and though it was busy, there wasn't a wait. Our waitress was super nice and had our drinks out to us very quickly. Our orders were cooked just right and were out fairly quickly also.
