Regarding my earlier review from our recent non-visit to IHOP, Macon, GA (left after waiting and being ignored for about 30 minutes in a not busy dining room), I got a response back from IHOP telling how concerned they were and would have management of franchisee contact me direct, as they were so concerned and wanted additional information ... a week goes by, NOTHING, so advised IHOP that it appeared the franchisee management were about as concerned as their diner's staff - not interested ... prompt response - "very concerned and now escalating it to more senior franchisee management, and they would be in touch within days" ..;.. almost another week goes by .... NOTHING more from franchisee or IHOP - makes you wonder how genuine these people really are - obviously, franchisee definitely does not care, and IHOP seem to be following same track. Surely, in today's economic climate, competition, and with the large investment in property, you would think customers might be of some importance to them, plus they have been advertising more than usual, so they must be wanting business, but it seem they are wasting advertising dollars if this is how they treat customers. read more

I rarely come but every time I do there's an issue. This time it took 5-10 minutes to be greeted. Everyone looks sad here but no one said anything to me or the line of people behind me. We went for a late dinner on Friday night around 8pm. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and did what he could to contribute to our experience. They are a bit understaffed though. I got the country fried steak combo with cheesecake pancakes. The waiter made us a fresh batch of sweet tea per my request. However, it was too sweet. The gravy on the country fried steak was tasteless and very thick. It almost had the consistency of mashed potatoes, which was weird. The pancakes were good as always. It took the waiter longer then it should've to refill our beverages. He later told us that they ran out of glasses so he was looking for to-go cups. This was acceptable IMO. The look of this IHOP can deter customers. It has a grimy look, almost as if it hasn't been cleaned in a while. The health rating was good though. I recommend checking the rating before eating here or upon arrival. If you are fine with the things I've mentioned above, I would recommend this location to you. The hostess seemed like she was in a different world. I walked in and she looked right past me. I tried to catch her eye to tell her I had 2 people in my party and she looked at me for a few more seconds, then stared at her table chart for about another minute as we awkwardly stood there and waited in a near empty restaurant. After a while of staring at each other she took us to our table right next to a large party, dropped off the menus, sighed, and walked away. It was very weird. This location is terrible. From the first moment we walked in, it was bad. It took what seemed like 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us waiting at the hostess desk to be seated at a table. And when we were finally acknowledged, two separate waitresses openly stated they didn't want us in their section because they were "too busy". When we were finally seated, it took another 10 mins for someone to come take our order for food and drinks. And guess what, after 20 or so mins of waiting, a completely different waitress walked by and asked how we were doing. I said fine I guess - just waiting for our food. So she goes in the kitchen to check on it. I have been here many times and have found that if there was a small issue the staff is happy to fix it. So I recommend this place. I love the omlettes and wish they had some kind of zero calorie pancake so I could eat more of them. They do offer a military discount as well. read more

Once again our posse is hungry as we prepare to continue our trek to Florida. This is a chain it's close to the hotel and it's on our way to Florida. No brainer here we are like the first ones in and the host asks our server wants to take our party members. She says yes and on we go. She's very nice and friendly but she really keeps forgetting things like I asked for lemon for my iced tea um four times never ever got it. Took awhile for me to get butter for my toast too so um yeah some glitches but I try to compensate for that since we are a large party. Let me say I just ordered a standard breakfast which is pretty hard to mess up I got scrambled eggs sausage links hash browns and wheat toast. What was adequate... Our orders were brought out to us in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. Refill service was generally responsive. The check was brought out to us in a reasonable time. The food was okay and generally warmish. What was not good or adequate... I had to wait about 11 minutes after I was seated to be greeted by my waitress. To begin with, I was a bit concerned. We sat for several minutes before receiving a table and the restaurant was NOT crowded at all, but after we were seated our service was prompt and the food was delicious. The chicken bacon white cheddar crepes were wonderful and extremely rich. My grandmothers "bowl" of grits was more like a swimming pool full and she said they were wonderful. Horrible, rude service. Picked up a DoorDash order during COVID-19 pandemic. Door Dash App per CDC Guidelines stated that the restaurant should be called upon arriving at the restaurant so that the food could be brought to the car to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. I called the restaurant and the lady laughed at me, telling me that I had to go inside to pick up the food. When I went inside, I had to wait for nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to the front. When a lady finally appeared, I asked, "Will someone bring my Door Dash order to the front when it's ready or do I need to do something else?" The lady then asked me if I was the one who called and expected her to bring it out to my car. She laughed once again and walked away. Finally, 10 minutes later, another woman brought the order to the front. The customer thankfully understood, but never again will I pick up an order from IHop. read more

The food was cooked incorrectly, I didn't receive some of the food that I ordered, and multiple customers either shared the same experience or were put as a higher priority than others. There wasn't much of a rush, just little to no communication between hostesses and servers. I felt as if I could have gone to the kitchen and cooked my own food about ten times in the amount of time it took the staff to simply bring the drinks out. I'm really surprised at the negative reviews. I've been here with large and small groups on many occasions (most recent visit was right before Thanksgiving) and have always found the wait staff to be friendly and the food to be delicious. I always order pancakes with scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon and am never disappointed! Huge portions for a really reasonable price.
