Worse location by far. 30 minutes to get incorrect food. No one came by in all the time. When I returned my incorrect food I was asked if I wanted another one... ABSOLUTELY NOT. The wait was way too long and the staff smelled like they got out of a dumpster. We have been waiting for our food for at least an hour.

We were out of state visiting and my husband and I ate there Monday night last week; it wasn't great. Then Tuesday afternoon he got sick. (I don't eat beef so I didn't get sick.) He ended up with food poisoning. We headed back home Wednesday and couldn't make it because he was so sick so we had to rent a room. The next morning his blood pressure bottomed out from the extreme dehydration (according to our doctor). He has hypertension so that was not normal. He had to pull over for me to drive and I got is the rest of the way home, pulling over frequently because he was so ill. We went to the doc Saturday because he was still sick. She said it's good I didn't give him his BP meds because that saved his life. He finally was able to return to work Tuesday. He works shutdowns so that put him five days out of work. I am disabled so that put a huge hardship on us financially. My husband could've died because of someone's carelessness. They are willing to do nothing to make it right. I'm sorry is not enough. The manager of this restaurant is horrible. To start, the restaurant was HOT, there was no air circulating in the restaurant. We ordered a simple breakfast which took over 35 minutes to receive. When asked when our food would come out, we were told there was only one cook at the peak of a Saturday breakfast rush. When the food came, my pancakes were plated on a dirty plate so I sent them back. The other food items came out, the grits were under cooked and gritty. Once the pancakes came back out the middle of the pancakes were uncooked. I immediately sent them back and asked that they get taken off the bill. The manager yelling back and forth from the kitchen stated she wasn't going to take them off the bill but wanted to fix another order of them, saying that's how they are supposed to be because of the blueberries. I told the person she kept sending to me to relay her messages I'm not waiting another minute for food I should have had over 45 minutes ago and I've been eating pancakes with fruit all my life and know what undercooked pancakes look like.. I want it taken off my bill. Then when she comes out, she didn't properly adjust the ticket and never spoke to me, the customer regarding the issue. I also can heard her stating I'm not taking the food that was eaten off their bill...no one asked her to do that. I asked for the dirty plated undercooked pancakes to get taken off the bill. I also heard this manager telling her staff to make sure they are upselling and she would be opening their tickets, if anything is on the tables that's not on the ticket, she would cash it out of their money. If you been to IHOP, you know the place already. Its brand new in Marrero. Obviously because the staff barely knew the menu. I ordered nothing special and my kids went for the funny face pancake. A kiddie staple. They messed it up. My kids wanted it without the chocolate pancakes, just regular buttermilk. There is another kid version that comes with buttermilk, not called the Funny Face. That's what they brought. And even still it was a sad effort. My girls asked me not to say anything and cheerfully ate it up. The server was an extremely polite man and attentive, but the behind the scenes in the kitchen, were letting obscenities fly. Not the ultimate F bomb but enough was leaking through. I get it though, was a extremely slow day and they are bored but when its slow, that also means its quiet in there. We had issues at the Manhattan location too. Went to this location on 12/21/22 and again 12/22/22 and we had great food and BEST server, Adrian, both days. This location isn't always the best due to the short staffing issues and people just not wanting to work but... Adrian was a breath of fresh air. He was polite, professional and accommodating. Sitting in the IHOP in Marrero. Supposedly 2 servers, 1 cook working. 1 server doing ALL of the work. Came out of the bathroom and slipped on the water sitting all over the floor. Camera directly above the wet spot. But at least they had a Wet Floor sign sitting there. When asked if we needed anything else besides the check I told her she could clean up the water that had been sitting there for a while since I SLIPPED AND FELL. I guess she stopped listening after I said water cause she apparently didn't hear me say I slipped. The other waitress then came over and asked her why she was mopping. Waitress #1 then asked waitress #2 if she spilled the mop bucket all over the floor. #2 said there was something wrong with the bucket and she "gets paid $2.13 an hour to wait tables, not do maintenance on the mop bucket" and laughed. I guess the water had been there for several hours. Waitress #1 comes back with the check. I left the receipt, a gift card, and a few dollars and got out of there. My brother and I visited this establishment on Friday. There was not a lot of people there. My brother who is a retired Marine ordered pancakes. Eggs over easy,bacon,and hashbrowns. His hashbrowns was barely warm, the bacon tasted microwaved, the pancakes was not cooked thoroughly, and it was utterly disgusting. I ordered everything he had except I wanted scrambled eggs with cheese. I believe milk was added to the eggs, the eggs tasted sour. My hashbrowns were warm. When I tried to put butter on my pancakes, they were raw. I was totally disgusted. The food was so nasty, we left and went to New Orleans food and Spirits for quality food. The cook was in the kitchen eating while cooking the food. The staff was loud and using profanity. It was very disappointing to see Ihop like this. The young man at the door and our waitress customer service was excellent. They really need customer service and workplace training. They were extremely loud and very unprofessional. SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN until it is fully staffed with can-do employees that can be professional under any circumstances. Most of the employees including the manager (due to the weather today as an excuse) was not present and had only one server/waitress and 2 cooks trying their best to take care of the customers. I would Commend this waitress for trying but due to tasteless comments and actions such as yelling out "We're all gonna die" in the kitchen to complaining about working on her off day to others instead of focusing on the task at hand. I ordered from here online as a pick up. The website notified me my food would be ready at 11:19 a.m. I get here and had to wait another 20 minutes for my food with the waitresses acting like I didn't exist. It wasn't until another waitress walked in the door from outside and asked to help me that I was able to get my food. My food was not correct. When I let the same waitress know she just came back with the sauce for my order and didn't make it like my order pancakes was made. It was the same thing. When I was about to leave I wasn't even provided with utensils and had to ask for them from another waitress, who thought rearranging the salt and pepper would make customers appear. This literally was our "grinch pancakes." Me and my friend both came specifically for these and when we arrived, we didn't make it through the door and the lady at the front with the worst attitude just says "TWO" at us, so I said yes and she just walked off so we followed. No "hi how are y'all?, how many?, right this way" nothing. So fast forward to the waitress, she greets us and asks our drink orders, then comes back with the drinks and asks if we're ready to order. We tell her yes and say we came just for the grinch pancakes and asked if it's actually going to look like the picture, and she laughed and said oh yeah of course. So great! Pancakes get there, and this is what we got. She not once came and asked how was everything, or if we needed refills, didn't walk by till about 15-20 minutes after giving us food to ask if the checks were together or separate, then hands us our checks. Another 15 minutes goes by and she asks if there's anything we need and we said nope. Because at that point, We couldn't even say anything because she never came to check on us. She did the same thing to the table next to us. We're both servers, we understand if you're busy but from what we could see, she only had 2 tables. So no excuse to not even come ask how the food is. We never have good service here, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to go to Metairie ihop because the service there is 1000x better. Sunday morning, before the church crowd got there, we were seated right when we walked in. Let me reiterate that I Hop was not yet crowded. My Mom and I sat and perused the menu...and we sat... and we sat. No one even looked our way! There were servers scurrying around, but not one noticed we had been sitting for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged what so ever. I tried to catch someone's eye...to no avail! After 15 minutes of that, we walked out. Joe's on Barataria happily served us pancakes. Perhaps the food is just fine, I wouldn't know. Disappointed, disgusted and highly annoyed. The person who was our waiter took 15 min until he came to our table to get our drink order. The staff was hectic and making me feel anxious the whole time. They were yelling at each other, super frantic and you could tell that they do not like what they do, they do not like each other, and they don't really care about customer service. Food was sitting in the window being untouched, other people next to us were having issues and were highly upset. I don't like IHOP and I would never go here on my own free will. They're notorious for bad service and long food times (and have yet to prove me wrong). However, I got dragged here a few different times because my friends wanted to get breakfast food in the area. The only positive comment I can make is they have a large menu and the new Lapalco location seems clean and spacious. When I first came here, it was packed. Now every time I drive by, there's barely any cars in the parking lot. I guess people figured out how terrible the service is. The wait staff is inattentive and either lazy or they don't care. I've walked in before and seen servers sitting in booths and overheard loud conversations on more than one occasion including cursing. Obviously they don't care who can hear them. The food always takes at least thirty minutes or longer and I don't understand why given that it's all eggs and pancakes. They must only have one cook. If you're with a group, every person's entree comes out separately instead of all at once so one person may have finished their food already before another person even receives any. Today, I waited 20 minutes before a server informed me that the waffle machine was broken and asked if I wanted something else. Then they ran out of sugar free syrup. There's never a manager around to check on tables or apologize. No wonder that place is always dead. I doubt it will last more than a few months. read more
