This was my first experience at iHop and it was amazing. My mom and I came in for a late lunch. We were served by Addison. Addison was freaking awesome. They were super friendly and kind and continued checking in on us throughout our meal. Honestly, I wish I could just hire Addison as my server for whenever I go to a restaurant because they make the experience very pleasant. Today is the first time I left a ZERO tip. I'm so flabbergasted that I refused to leave a tip and on top of it I left a note to the reason. When the bus person has to be found to get the manager because you can't do your job and I have to tell the manager what's wrong and he fixes it without an issue one. He was so nice and helpful. He understood that wet yucky cold pancakes were a hard no . You spent the next 8 minutes ignoring us until you HAD to deliver the bill. Funny the table across from us and the T-bone table behind us got 100 percent of your attention while you generally ignored our table . The funny thing is that you acted as if we were trouble. We came in as my husband had just had a procedure and wasn't able to eat for 24 hours prior. Being diabetic he needed food pretty quickly, from the start you could not be bothered. We waited three times for you. When I shoved my plate away you never asked if it was ok . I had to tell you. When I attempted to ask you for jam I had to chase the bus person down seriously I don't know what your problem with us today was I gave you four separate opportunities to earn a tip. And I told my husband when you walked away if she doesn't come back and ask if everything was OK she's getting no tip at all. You knew there was things wrong. Ironically, when something happens that the waitress has had no control over I usually leave her a 50% tip. I've been known to leave $100 tip at Jake's in Snohomish just because the waitress was so stinking good. The food was OK but the waitress was fabulous so the next time you come across me, maybe you will treat me like I'm not worthy of great service you give to at least 3 other tables. You acted like we were trying to get something person or trying to comped the meal or whatever you thought was going on I've been fighting cancer for six months and I've had some pretty crappy days but not one day where I was thought holy crap I have to deal with this too? You might be better suited for the cashier job as your customer service is pretty low. I have never not left a tip. I m beyond disappointed how you made others feel they deserved your best but somehow we deserved less. Judging others to decide who might be the better tipper is an old game, shameful for sure. Came in at 12:30pm 06/29/1024. First thing i noticed is how slow it was but at the receptionist desk two hostesses were casually braiding each others hair. Hello this is a restaurant and no one wants ur little nasty hair fingers all on the menus! Thats sick. We Sat down and our server Laurie was awesome. After we ordered we were looking around and saw the ceiling tiles covered in dust...baseboards full of spill stains and bad mopping, condiments not full at our table. Instead of sitting around braiding hair....do some cleaning. The glass in our booth looked like a kindergarten class. This is probably one of the nastiest IHOP'S I have ever been in. The service at this IHOP was horrible. I was served a cold plate (also the wrong order) and tried to get it changed but my waiter never showed up to help me. I wasted 30 mins sitting there with my plate uneaten. When I kindly asked my waiter for the receipt I kindly asked for the meal to be taken off since I had not touched it. She then proceeded to make a huge scene in front of subordinates and the manager. She was laughing in my face and yelling in the restaurant " i don't know what her problem is" all bc i wanted the meal off my ticket. The manager continued to apologize to me over 5 times for the waiters actions. I have never been so humiliated before in my entire life especially infront of my kids. It's IHOP just keep that in mind. This is the Mount Vernon location. They are short staffed like everyone else. My order was easy. Pancakes and a drink. The service was good and the food was prompt. The pancakes were crumbly for some reason and fell apart as the syrup soaked in. The taste was off too and one or two were undercooked which really threw the taste off. It was quite eerie walking in here at around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. There were maybe 4 other tables in the restaurant filled up. I came in a group of 15. Boy was everyone in for a ride. There were only 2 servers and 1 cook The town gave me some country roads vibes. Anywho, we got seated and the 1 server we had did a pretty good job, but I could tell she was faking a smile the whole night. The first person got their food about 15-20 min away from the last person. Have you ever seen a sad puppy waiting by the window for their owner to get home? Service was a disaster. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, despite being able to see 6+ open tables and booths. That turned out to be the good part - 45 minutes after being seated we still didn't have our food, despite at least 3 parties seated after us getting theirs. Our order wasn't anything special - French toast and 3 pancakes. When it finally came, the pancakes weren't correct - it took them another 5 minutes to "fix" it incorrectly. Never again! read more

Our FAVORITE breakfast place in town is Calico, but we opted to come here to save some money. Big mistake! They upped their prices AND give you less food now. Honestly, when all was said and done we would have spent THE SAME amount at our favorite place, but we would have had more quality, more delicious food (and coffee). The service was good, but the coffee was quite watery. My sides were done well before my pancakes so by the time my pancakes came out, my sides were cold and my husband was done with his food. I understand this is IHOP and I fully support food service industry workers, especially during this time when everyone is understaffed. My wife and I came because she has a gluten sensitivity and LOVES their gluten free waffles and pancakes. We did have a bit of a wait for our food to arrive but again, I was okay with that. When we did get our food, my fruit topping on my pancakes was frozen...literally frozen. Why would you put something frozen on top of something being served warm off the griddle???? My wife ordered gluten free pancakes and my daughter ordered regular pancakes. Needless to say we were questioning if the GF pancakes were actually GF, as they looked identical to the regular ones. We asked our waitress and she insisted they were GF, and that ALL of their pancakes are GF. Ummmm....what? I don't think that's correct. So we asked another server, and low and behold they were NOT. On a road trip I took my daughter here. We were looking for a quick breakfast, and ordered online. We ordered a berry crepe and 4 pieces of bacon. We should have gotten a berry crepe with syrup and strawberries, instead the crepe tasted like wet dog and gave us about 6 blueberries, no strawberries/syrup. Last Sunday around 3 pm we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated but never asked if we'd like water, coffee, menus, etc. Sat there for over 20 minutes without ever being acknowledged. They weren't even busy. I think people tend to not be fair in their reviews of places that people have a preconceived notion that they should only be 2-3 star restaurants, but I think this IHOP well deserves the 3.5-4 star rating. My friends and I stopped here on our way back from Maple Falls from a white water rafting trip and I guess we didn't know how much being on the river and hiking and driving from Lacey at like 4am had taken out of us. We picked IHOP because it's usually consistent and you know what you're getting normally plus the restaurant was sparsely populated so we knew their would be no wait (although there never is when we go to IHOP) All of us ordered pancakes of some kind with a different assortment of meats and eggs and coffee. I checked out the bathroom while our orders were being made. The men's room was immaculate. I don't know if this restaurant is newer or what but it was so clean in the bathroom and didn't smell like urine. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by it's bathroom. Our orders came and everything was perfect. The eggs were perfect consistency and not dry or too wet in the case of my friend's sunny-side-up. The pancakes were light and fluffy and not too brown. My friend asked for lots of whipped cream (which you can see from the picture) and they were happy to obliged. They also did not carry the strawberry syrup directly on the table and the waitress was happy to retrieve it from the kitchen. I'm not sure why they don't just make an extra space for the strawberry on the table but whatever. The manager even came to check on our well-being which was cool because normally you just see the waiter/esses hussling and bussling all over the place filling coffee and topping off drinks. Dear IHOP, Please check on your locations. Besides the nice employees. The location is dirty. Floors are filthy, seats not wiped down, tables dirty. My mom went to use the restroom. One toilet was broken the other was out of order, no toilet paper. The food we ordered like 45 minutes ago. There's know one in the restaurant for the food to be taking this long. The coffee taste awful. Tried putting creamer in it, just taste even worse than before. We finally got the food, it was ok. Didn't finish it. Another 10 minutes passes by she takes our order still no orange juice now at 30 minutes no food no juice. Finally food arrives very hot plates very cold food at this point manager comes over no apologies nothing took the plates and about 4 minutes later food came back hot so we are 50 minutes in still no orange juice no waiter has come back to our table other then to give us the bill note on the bill two large orange juice we didn't get then when we told them they didn't believe us finally it off the bill we left no tip worst service ever had. read more

We walked into IHOP this morning it was not too busy there were 3-4 people at the front reception waiting to greet us- we were seated quick but we had to wait 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there and offered something to drink. We decided to order quickly in case the kitchen was running slow. I could tell that some staff were working really hard trying to keep up with the tables. Sadly, half of the wait staff and management were standing around and chatting. Food was ok the eggs and bacon were overdone and cold. I have eaten here several times and it's usually very pleasant. Today however not so much. I got a Cali melt that was really mushy and not that flavorful. The worst though was I wound up with a piece of plastic in my fruit. Probably from packaging but wound up scraping it off the roof of my mouth. Thought it was a grape peel. Let the waitress know and she said she would let the manager know. I thought maybe he would come out and acknowledge me and at least apologize and say know one else would get plastic in their food but nope, nothing. I wish I had read the reviews before I stopped at the IHOP on freeway Drive in Mount Vernon. The server was polite, but that was the only positive thing. My son and I both got waffles and I also got some eggs and hashbrowns to go with it. Two waffles with strawberries, one small order of eggs and hashbrowns and water. $35. I don't even think that the price on the receipt and matches the price on the menu. A disappointment for certain. The waffles were limp. I had five tiny strawberries (the size of the tip of my pinky,) and a little dollop of whip cream. My son had four strawberries on his. The hash-browns were cold and so crunchy on the bottom, They hurt my teeth. One piece of bacon was cold and the other piece of bacon was warm, But limp. The eggs tasted artificial... Not sure what was up with that. All in all, an enormous, disappointment. We don't get to go out to breakfast very often- maybe once a year. This experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. Especially when I realized I could've gone to Applebee's and had two steaks for the same price as my two limp waffles. read more
