Yet indeed, I have no revelations or big reveals after revisiting this popular local haunt. The ice cream is still very good and the window service polite and capable. We also recently decided on a rare sit down meal here. We fancied some seafood for a change of pace and rather than driving a dozen or more miles away to frequent our favorite seafood restaurant, we opted to eat locally. And besides, we had tried Lakeshore's clams and scallops when we first moved here and liked them. So one of us ordered the scallop platter and the other clams (full-bellied of course). The servings were slightly smaller than at our favorite place, but also a bit less expensive, so it is a choice whether you would rather take some home for a second meal or save a few dollars in the short term. As we remembered, the food was good, so no complaints. If I push the issue, I have to say the meal didn't quite live up to the other restaurant, but that is why we have fave places, isn't it? It is only logical to occasionally test to see if others are ready to take over top spot! But there have a varied menu. And as a side note, the town of Dexter has implemented a remarkable renewal and improvement project of the neighboring beach and facilities, including building a new covered dining and activity area, which can be reserved or used more spur of the moment as available. There is a fair bit of parking , though very busy with locals and nearby camp visitors, and there are public restrooms just behind the restaurant.

The coffee was just okay considering they were advertising the Carrabassett brand they used. My wife ordered the avocado scramble, which also came with eggs and home fries, and she added bacon on the side. Unlike ravenous me, she had to take her eggs home. I can't forget to mention the server (Maggie?) who was friendly, chatty and took great care of us. The menu is a cute idea - themed around music (and presumably the name of the deli itself is after Neil Young, but not positive). There are a lot of options to choose from, but I landed on the chicken salad sandwich just because it's a classic and I was really in the mood for some. My sandwich was a disappointment. The bread was somewhat dry (especially the crust), the chicken salad itself was also dry as well. It was not flavorful, either. My husband's club sandwich had too much mayonnaise on it, so he ended up donating some of his mayo to my dry sandwich cause. (I didn't try his sandwich, but since his was toasted, he didn't experience the same dry bread issues). The deli seating area and bathroom was clean, and the staff were friendly and the service was fast. I probably would give this another try someday if we needed to have lunch on the way up again, and I'd get something entirely different to compare.

Amazing. I had a Baja smash burger and my wife had an Olin smash burger both with caramelized onions. Both were excellent. Fresh - not frozen patties - and it showed. Fries were really good too. I'll be back later in the week to try their roast beef sandwich and see if it lives up to the "legend" name.
