I love eating at IHOP, however I do not enjoy waiting an hour for food because the online orders are more of a priority then the customers in the restaurant. On the weekends they should not take the online orders during the breakfast hours. Other restaurants in town have quit because of the long wait time for the in restaurant customers. And I hate seeing the waitresses being verbally abused because of the long wait times for the food. read more

My wife and I have been regulars at IHOP for a long time, every Sunday after church but lately things have gotten so slow we are no longer going to go there for Sunday breakfast. Today, June 14, 2026 we got there and there were plenty of tables open and plenty of servers but no busboys, servers were cleaning tables and so was the receptionist. We were told 10 minutes it was 20 and they weren't seating people because tables weren't cleared and there was discussion as to who was supposed to get the next patrons. We finally got to sit down, ordered and waited 41 minutes to be served. Last week we walked out due to the wait. The week before we waited over an hour to be served because they were busy filling take out orders, ridiculous. So IHOP was making money but the servers weren't making tips, bad practice if you want to keep employees. The servers are great, polite, apologetic over and over. Management not so much. need more busboys, maybe even another cook, need to clean tables and seat people faster, don't put take out orders ahead of sitting paying customers. I went with my friends to IHOP and the waitress who introduced herself as Alaska but the receipt had her as Avery was completely clueless on how to provide good customer service. If she doesn't like her job (which she obviously doesn't know how to do) should either quit or be fired. Very incompetent, got my ordered wrong, gave me an ice tea with no ice, if she cannot write down orders correctly then move on to do something else. I would not be back to this place. ( Do not come here with a large group ) Walked in with a group of 11 on a Sunday, had to wait 30 mins which was fine. I went back to check on our tables to the lady at the desk talking crap about our table saying to another employee that we weren't out outside and it would be better for them if we didn't show up. I don't remember my servers name, but I came in Saturday night and she was absolutely the best waitress me or my wife have ever had. My wife just reminded me to write this so she gets recognized, but we had a party of 6 and she made sure we had our appetizer out fast and none of us ran out of water without her being right there to fill it up. Awful location. Portion is smaller than other locations, at least with the omelettes. Also I ordered online. I was 15-20 minutes late from the time it should he ready to pick up, and they still did not finish cooking it. I had to wait for the buttered toast and that took an extra 10min to get that done. I went into the Pocatello, Idaho location to purchase a gift card. The staff member didn't know how to ring them up, so he went back to get the manager. After 2 minutes the manager asked what I wanted then he disappeared for another 2 minutes finally coming out and getting one off the wall behind him. He said he didn't know where they were!!?! He finally took the card and my debit card and spent another minute on the cash register finally returning. Then I had to walk around the counter and get the gift envelope for the card. This location in the chain is not on par with the other locations I have tried. Not sure why. The Pasco, WA, location is much nicer, cleaner, and has better service. It looks like from the other reviews, this was not just a bad day. IHOP has gone to mixing pancake batter into their omelettes? What does this achieve? You either wrap your omelette fixins in a gross pancake, laden with egg, or in a gross egg with pancake taste. This is insane. Makes you want to be a fly on the wall in the meetings where these corporate decisions are made, just for the entertainment of how such lunacy percolates into a product decision. Our visit to this location was not helped by the redneck family that was there when we were. Clearly (for the benefit of the whole restaurant) they were not happy with their service, which appeared to be an over one-hour wait after ordering. The IHOP staff were not adept at handling their issues, but thankfully the family decided to just vacate and "take their dad gum business to Denny's" with plenty of loud complaining on the way out. My wife and I ordered spinach omelettes from IHOP. Got it delivered by DoorDash. This is what our omelette had. Just a ball of spinach stuffed in the center, cheese was all on one side, they forgot the hollandaise sauce. Basically we got a generic omelette, with spinach from a bag, and a few mushrooms tossed on it. Could have made this quality from home. We went in yesterday for Mother's Day breakfast. Of course it was busy but we had only a short wait. When seated our waitress Shelley, I think that's her name ( table) 12, was right there getting our drink orders and upon returning got our breakfast orders. we had a little wait for the food but that was to be expected. Hadn't gone to this location for a while and was shocked to see how much this restaurant had gone downhill. Only one small section was open and we had to wait a half hour to be seated. Once we were seated no one came near our table for over 20 min. Then we were given water and menus and the waitress disappeared for 15 min. In all it took over a hour to get our food. The food was not up to IHops usual standards, the Omelets were awful. Not going back. read more

We'd been saying we should try it, so we did. Boy were we wrong. We arrived on a Sunday evening. One table in the restaurant had a customer. Two customers were ahead of us. The hostess led us to a half clean table and then proceeded to let us wipe it down. (I probably would have moved us to one of the myriad of CLEAN tables that were available, but she didn't ask me) The hash browns were previously frozen and mushy upon presentation. The strawberry crepes were adequate, but the whipped cream on top of them was not the vanilla cream that was promised on the menu. The eggs and sausage-according to my daughter-in-law-were perfectly "fine." My son enjoyed the Spicy Poblano Omelette, but to be fair he was incredibly hungry by the time we arrived at the restaurant, so I'm not sure I trust his opinion. Dirty table, missing silverware, a server who could not put the coffee cup in front of the one who ordered it and then forgot all about us as soon as our food was served..... My last trip to an IHOP. I had to get up to let our server know to get a new cup...and she brought back the SAME cup with the same stain still there thinking we wouldn't notice. Seriously, who does that? No silverware with our food, and we had to get up to ask for coffee creamer. AND, both breakfast plates were supposed to come with pancakes and she never brought them. I had to get up and ask them for our pancakes... which they gave us them cold after. I've been in the restaurant industry for years and this is the worst IHOP and restaurant Ive ever been to. Apparently you do not want to go in to eat an hour and a half before closing. All the tables were dirty. They sat us at a dirty booth. We asked for it to be washed, and had to show the waitress the places that she had missed. She asked what we would like to drink. I responded coffee, my wife wanted tea. The waitress told us all the coffee pots had been emptied and cleaned. No coffee or she would be there until 1:30 in the morning cleaning. It's an IHOP and the quality transcends. The food tastes the same here as it does at the IHOP locations in L.A. I'm not complaing at all but it's a familiar joint and it is what it is. When I called Door Dash they would not retrieve my drink for me; would not even discuss the subject. Today is Valantines day so going in today my husband and I expected it to be busy. We only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. We had to wait 15 minutes to be asked for our drink order by the manager. Our waitress was helping everyone else with a smile and ignoring us on purpose. The waitress basically threw our drinks on the table without saying anything ad left. Minutes later the same Manger came over and took our food order. Another 15 minutes later the food showed up. The waitress threw the food down and walked away. The food was horrible. My orange juice was warm. Our eggs were greasy and very dry. At the end of our meal the waitress brought the check and said " I'll be your cashier when your ready" that's all she said to us during the whole time. So overall the experience was horrible. Best thing about Ihop is their hours.In a city like Pocatello it is not always easy to get food served to you in any time of the day or night and some restaurants even close earlier (if they open at all ) on week ends. I like to have steak tips with eggs for breakfast or lunch and food always tastes to my expectations and I never waited for too long to be seated or for my drinks to be served. The only minus is their free Wi-Fi is a joke.They tell you the password which is written on the wall and when you connect it tells you you have to sign it for it and opens a google page over and over again and then just kicks you out. read more

We had a 10 minute wait to be seated even though the restaurant was more than half empty. Several customers were complying about how long it took to get their food. My wife and I ordered shortly after 6pm on a Saturday night, and weren't served until 7pm. My wife was served 2 eggs on a small plate, instead of her cob salad. My pancakes were only slightly warm--the butter on top of the pancakes wouldn't even melt. My over-easy eggs were over cooked and had a crusty surface. Oh, did I mention the large milk that I ordered with my meal? When the food was served, I reminder the waitress about my milk, and was told that she would be right back with it. When I was over 1/2 finished, the waitress told us that they had run out of milk, and that someone was sent to the grocery store to buy some more milk. It arrived to me AFTER my meal was finished. My wife and I waited ten minutes to be seated restaurant was maybe 75% full, young man at the desk pointing his finger in people's faces to identify them and get names was particularly annoying. Once seated waited for about 15 minutes and still were not served. Walked out and went to Denny's were seated promptly and had coffee on the table and order placed by friendly waitress within minutes.
