I use to look forward to going here to eat. I've never had any complaints until the last 3 visits...Their steamed carrots, and broccoli have been barely steamed. The second time I asked our waitress to please ask them to make sure they were steamed not crunchy. Again-they came out crunchy. Love their Salmon! This time- not cooked all the way through-and very fishy tasting. Rolls were over cooked too. I use to love this place because it was consistently good! Seems like things are slipping. The music was so loud I couldn't hear my own thoughts!!! We were made to sit at the bar even though there were a lot of open booths. The sweet tea we ordered was very warm with pieces of melting ice floating at the top. I asked for ranch dressing with my dinner and after the bartender called 3 times to ask for it, 20 minutes later I got the dressing but the rest of my meal was cold and my husband had been done eating for 10+ minutes! Worst experience ever! We went to Texas Roadhouse for my husbands birthday. In the past it has been a great experience, but not tonight. Usually the person seating us, has asked how our day was going and if we were celebrating anything...again, not tonight. Our server Angela got my husbands order wrong and did not bring our beer until after we had our salads and appetizers. They just sat on the bar. I know this because we were seated in the bar area at a booth and we could see them sitting there. I ordered the 16 oz prime rib and it was awful. Take a look at the photo below. Cut at a great size on one side (that was inedible and all fat) and then down to a 1/4 sliver on the other side??? Really? Is the cook ok? Stopped off at Texas Roadhouse on our two week road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, the Badlands and beyond! This was my first time ever to a Texas Roadhouse and although it was noisy, it was fun. Reminded me of a better Outback's meets Farrells. The food was bette than Outback which is about 3 stars but the service, friendliness and party vibe was a solid 4. Everyone loves the fresh bread and yummy cinnamon butter that comes with it. Croutons on salad were good and the meat in the chili was decent chunks. I ordered the kabob and expected dry pieces but they were tender. Hubby got catfish and they were small looking. The waitress told us since they were small they added another extra. Hahahah. Come with your friends on their birthdays and the waitstaff will bring a saddle for them to sit on and everyone will yell "ye-haw"!". Pretty fun place. read more

We ordered takeout. The order said it would be ready by 9:11pm. It was not ready until almost 9:30pm. The hot food was cold. The salads were warm. They did not include the sauces I ordered for the appetizers. We very rarely eat out. And this is why. The quality went down, and the price went up. We were seated as soon as we got there....After waiting for the staff to do a line dance routine right where staff went to walk us in. It was hard to hear staff & I mentioned the music was real loud. We had a very attentive staff but I wish we'd realized Boise speaker was right over us & we'd been moved. Hubby even had to remove hearing aids! We ordered the Fried Pickles for something different & they were plenty & good tasting with ranch. Ribeye steak was tender & tasty, mashed with brown gravy & green beans. My prime rib was cooked perfectly & the mixed veggies plus baked spud were very good. We both requested mushrooms & they were delicious!! Ain't what it used to be 8 or 9 years ago.Decor and music are still nice.The significant shift happened mostly to the spirit and the attitude.Was one of our favorite places almost 9 years ago.Was still OK almost 7 years ago.Then we gave them a break , after they offended my pregnant wife.Four or five years ago I am not sure if they changed the manager or tried their best to optimize too many expenses,but ever since the quality started to decline,ingredients were often forgotten when food ordered to go etc. Nowadays it is what it is.Service is slow,food is unappealing, steaks not cooked to order , rice too greasy, potatoes tasting odd. I love going here to eat out with family and friends. But we had to wait a long time for a table, they kept adding more and more time where my family started to get a headache. Once a table was open we had to wait quite a few minutes for out drinks and appetizers. I've been to the Nampa restaurant several times, but this was my first time at the Pocatello location. I was staying overnight before heading to Yellowstone National Park the next morning. Because I was by myself, the greeter pushed me to take a seat at the bar. I guess I could have declined and asked for a booth, but I felt the pressure not to hold up a four-top with a party of one. The bartender was friendly and was headed that way to clear off some peanut shells from the counter as I sat down. I ordered a 12-ounce boneless ribeye steak, chile and a baked potato. The chile was served almost like an appetizer, coming before the steak and a world famous Idaho spud. I liked that idea. The only thing missing was a spoon. Food for bar patrons was brought by another server, not the bartender. But she didn't give me a spoon, offer to get me one or see if I wanted one. I'm not sure why she wouldn't have grabbed one as she picked up the dish. Meanwhile, the bartender was busy so it took three or four minutes for her to get finished with drink orders she was working on to grab one for me. If I had known where they were, I could have gone and grabbed one myself. The steak and baked potato came just as I was finishing the chile. The steak was cooked to medium and like a good steak, didn't need a sauce to hide the flavor. It was really good. Their catfish is really good and so out of eight or so visits to the Texas Roadhouse, this was the first time I ordered a steak. I'm glad I did. Every other time I've been to a Texas Roadhouse, they've served rolls with butter. I'm not sure if they do something at the bar, but I didn't get any of those. Maybe another reason to decline sitting at the bar. Maybe I've never come at the right time, but I was surprised when the servers gathered in line and started dancing. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but every few steps, they would stomp on the floor and then continue. First I want to register my indignation that Pocatello got a Texas Roadhouse before Portland, Oregon! However, since I was in Pocatello over the weekend visiting The Mom I am glad one was there. Texas Roadhouse is one of those chains that just seems to get it, they know what people want and they give it to them. So many could take lessons from this place. Some people say it is an Outback Steakhouse without the accent, but these people are wrong. I have learned in my travels that comparing anything Texas to something foreign is dangerous if you happen to be among real Texans. However, no chance of that happening here because Texas Roadhouse headquarters are in KENTUCKY! But hey, c'mon, would you stop at a Kentucky Roadhouse? Me either. As you walk in you are confronted with a metal washtub full of peanuts, therefore if you have a peanut allergy this place could be trouble for you. Expect to wait, this place can be busy. Since we were with The Mom and a friend of hers we were eating rather early and one plus was we had no wait. Menus are on the table already and stay there, which is something I like a lot, so often I want to refer back to the menu or just read it more in detail, too many places whisk it away so fast you're lucky not to get a cut from the edge of the menu. I spotted one problem right off the bat, the artificial sweetener box had pink and blue packets, but no yellow packets. Normally this is a star off in my book, but for some reason I overlooked it and made due with blue instead of yellow. The servers have the same shirt as a uniform, on the back it says "I Love My Job", this always cracks me up for some reason. Good marketing! Comely nubile young female server takes our drink orders and was back quicker than lightening with drinks. My iced tea was served in a tall glass... and no spoon to stir it with. I made due with my steak knife. I could have bothered them for a spoon, but hey, sometimes I just don't feel like being high maintenance. She took our orders at the same time. Quite a variety of food at our table of four. The Mom got a combo with pulled pork and ribs; The Mom's friend got a fillet; Brother #2 (I am #3) got the rib eye steak and I went with the full slab of ribs (see photos). Well, if you haven't figured it out for now I really like this place. One reason is the ribs are meat falling clean off the bone tender. The barbecue beans are tangy and firm. The Caesar salad isn't anything to scream about, but for one without anchovy paste it is pretty darn good. Brother #2 had a rib eye that was perfectly cooked and tender. I tried some of The Mom's pulled pork and it melted in your mouth. The rolls you get with a honey/cinnamon butter are highly addictive and I wish I could tell you about their desserts but by the end of a slab of ribs there just is no way. One day I must try the Apple Pie. Maybe in place of the salad? Texas Roadhouse from Kentucky just frickin' rocks! There is no other way to put it. read more

Food is always solid here. They may be a steakhouse but they also have great alternatives as well. Opted for the Herb Crusted Chicken this time around, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Almost better than the steak somehow, and the caramelized lemon on the side is great. Take my advice and squeeze some of the juice on the chicken, it gives it a smoky citrus flavor that makes it all the more better. Chicken was also tender and juicy. TXRH will always have a place in my heart and I will definitely be back soon. read more

My wife and I came to the thousandth Texas Roadhouse we've been to, but have never before felt inclined to write a review for this chain until now. And it's all because of Les. Les was our waitress and boy let me tell you, we LOVED her. She was quick and to the point, while being friendly, checked in on us without being overbearing, and was all around great. We came from a car dealership, where we did in fact buy a car, and she outdid our salesman by miles. She told us what she liked and that was enough to convince us to order it. She made sure our appetizer came out before our main meal so it didn't stack up (HELL YEAH!) this is huge for us. and when we were finished with our meals and tall beers, it's like she read our minds and asked if we'd like another half beer (instead of a full sized tall glass) to finish washing down our dinner. We were here to celebrate my birthday. I've been craving a steak for weeks. This seemed like the perfect place. First, our waiter steven and waitress Mackenzie was amazing. They treated us like family, even though we are from out of state. Second, We went on a Monday, which apparently is kid night. They did face painting, balloon animals and magic tricks. My girls will never forget that. Third, and the most important in my opinion, the food was so yummy. My steak and loaded sweet potato was perfection! Everyone at the table was also completely impressed. I am a total Yelp snob, and almost didn't go because of the 3 star rating. Give this place a chance, you will not be disappointed! My husband and myself were in Idaho to see his nieces for the 4th of July holiday, and my husband wanted to treat his family to a nice supper. One if his nieces called to make a reservation and the person that answered the phone stated they don't take reservations but call back in an hour and I will take your information down. So she called back and stated there were 10 people for supper and we will be there for 6pm. We all arrived at 6pm, then the blue haired bimbo they call a hostess stated she didn't have anybody by that name down, but had 10 listed and all kinds of question marks beside it. So this blue haired bimbo started arguing with my husbands niece, and stated whoever called hung up etc. Well, it just got worse because we were not getting anywhere with this wonderless individual they call a hostess and asked to speak to JOSH, who was the " service manager" another brainless individual that was pointing the blame on our party, instead of saying, oh, we are very sorry, you are right, I will get you a table right a way and by the way dessert is on me. But no, it didn't end that way. With the wonderless hostess having a smirk on her face the whole time this is taking place, she didn't help matters one bit! She made matters even worse because she didn't even get the right Manager over to fix the issue. I DO NOT recommend this place, they don't know how to treat their patrons or know how to hire competent individuals that know how to write or speak proper English to take a reservation properly. Pathetic to say the least, given the low intellect of their Manager I didn't expect much from their employees. If I were a Manager I would of fired everyone on the spot. A friend from Texas said that Texas Roadhouse is the El Torito of steak houses but that was after we had dined here, so it didn't quite help me. First things first and that is if you're a server and are somewhat lagging you do not tell the customers that are waiting for food that the reason you were lagging was because you were talking to some "regulars." It make us non-regulars not like you. That's just an FYI. The portions at this place are huge and hearty. I had something called the "Road Kill" smothered in mushrooms, cheese, and sauce and split a platter that had their boneless wings, jalapeño poppers, etc. Their drinks are slightly oversized - I had their sangria, which was good, but was gone too soon. I am disappointed that they have many prominent alcohols on display on their menu, but because they're a chain they don't actually have them in stock. I wanted something made with Tito's vodka and just got a blank look. I did order a craft brew and was told that I was just second person to order craft brew, because the locals like their shitty beers. Anyways, the meal was very filling - like, beyond filling and when it was time to go to sleep I burped my way to dreamland. I don't think I will be back anytime soon. P.S. I had the worst experience I've ever had there tonight. My prime rib was under cooked paid for a 12oz and basically got 6oz of meat and 6oz of fat. The strawberry margarita I had tasted like the bartender never poured a drink in her life (I have been a bartender for bout 7 yrs now). Our waitress happened to be training and had a real shit attitude it was so bad to the point where I asked the trainee if she would receive any tips or if it went to the trainer (it goes to the trainer) and pulled a 20.00 out and gave it to the trainee and left the trainer like a little over 8.00.the trainer in my mind was lazy not personable and I seriously wonder why she is working the industry she is in. Everything about the experience sucked definitely will not be back. Much rather drive all the way to Idaho falls and go to that Texas Roadhouse. 8 months later and still have yet to be back and will continue to step foot into this place. read more
