Stopped here on our way to Montana. We arrived around 7:00 and was told the wait was 20-30 minutes. There were three bar stools open so we opted to skip the wait and sit there. Within 5 minutes everyone waiting with us were all seated...not sure what happened to 20 minutes. There were two people behind the bar who helped us. The drinks were good-we had Kettle One martini (MIL), hubby had a lemon drop and I had a Paloma. When we asked what we should try we were told more of what we shouldn't have vs what is good. Hmmm.... MIL had Salmon and said it was good. Hubby and I had potato skins and the steak bites. The potato skins were quite firm but still tasty. The steak bites were swimming in a very salty teriyaki-like sauce. So salty we couldn't finish them. I think our next time through we'd try somewhere else. read more

We sat in the Bar, not noisy, very clean! Chicken Strips were So/So (Dry, Flavorless) fries were the best part of the meal. Onion Tings were okay as well. We ordered takeout and proceeded to Jaker's pick up (2 days ago) Upon our arrival we were told the orders were still being prepared but would soon be ready! We waited awhile and we were given the same information again. The burgers were supposed to be cooked to medium well and the Crab and avacodo sandwich were to be well prepared. Finally, after a longer than expected wait we got our food but previous to that they asked me to pay with my credit card. I thought that perhaps tipping for pickup was probably not a reasonable additional cost, but I did so anyway. Finally, we got our food and returned home. I handed the credit card slip to my wife who had placed the order and she discovered that the $10.95 cost on their internet menu, was charged the amount of $19.95(+$9.00), the 2 burgers were supposed to be $14.95 but each was charged at $19.95 (+ $5.00 x2) so a total of $19.00 above the menu cost. Then the tip was about $11.95. This food the Crab and avocado sandwich had very little Crab there was had a back bite, and the bread was soggy and it was barely warm! The 2 burgers were cold and definitely over well done instead of medium/well. In the past I have had good food from this establishment, but it has been getting worse as perhaps the bottom line of quality is slipping, and the prices are getting higher. I never mind paying for quality but this place has slipped away from that in our opinion. I complained to the manager over the phone, and he offered me discounts on a future order, but sadly we will not be patronizing this below diner quality business again. read more

Came in for lunch and ordered grilled Turkey Swiss and Tortilla Soup. The turkey is thin pre-sliced. They grilled the turkey until it was dry and grilled swiss on top. The "grilled" sourdough was actually toasted and then there was a light "smear" of mayo. The Tortilla Soup wasn't better. The "soup" was of a glue-like consistency, and it may or may not have had chicken involved. The chips were good. I am pleasantly surprised. I misjudged this place. I had the shrimp and sirloin with mashed potatoes and French onion soup. Disclaimer, I travel a lot very frequently across the entire West Coast. The French onion soup was a 9.5/10 very flavorful and well thought of and a filling. The shrimp sirloin was off the chain: 10/10 cooked wonderfully, Seasoned PERFECTLY. Mashed potatoes complimented everything nicely. My server was amazing as well. I am overall throughly satisfied and when I'm back I will definitely be back. Vibe is decent . Price was decent as well. Overall out of 100, I would give this a 90. Add sweet tea to the menu for us southerners lol! read more

Stopped here on my way through Pocatello. Got prime rib with a loaded baked potato and clam chowder. Prime rib was 14 oz and came as ordered (medium rare). Both the prime rib and the baked potato were well seasoned and tasted great. The clam chowder was over thickened and tasted like it had too much flour, otherwise good. Reservations for 10 at 6pm in a Friday night? Sure, come in a bit earlier and although we have a bunch of groups we will get you in. We've been here for family dinners on several occasions and always consistently solid food and service. Jakers has done a great job of turning this into a great addition to the dining community. The menu offers everything from happy hour apps to fine dining options. Most recently we came to celebrate a birthday and a few of the family joined in. Steaks were cooked to order. The Thai flatbread was so flavorful and the drinks were made to individual preference which was nice. 10 of us ate and 5 of us had drinks and the bill came to $380. Everyone had whatever they wanted and not surprisingly, we ate like kings. The house made rolls and honey butter are amazing! We easily polished off four baskets of those things. Once the kids discovered them it was game over. Our server Andie was really great and although I knew she was hustling several tables, she kept things on track. We have eaten once at Jakes and decided to try their Thanksgiving dinner. Worst mistake we've ever made. The Thanksgiving dinner was the worst food we've ever had. The service was slow and that was after asking twice for the same thing. The green bean casserole, which is hard to mess up, was horrible. It was not made the classic way with cream of mushroom soup and the crispy onion rings were barely visible. There was very little gravy on the white turkey meat or mashed potatoes and when we asked for additional gravy so we could managed to swallow the dry meat, we got a small plastic container amounting to about a tablespoon for both plates. The only decent food we ate was the spinach dip served with bread, which was very good and saved us from not having dinner at all because the food was inedible. The pumpkin was decent and our bill was over $80.00. We didn't even have an alcoholic drink, just tea, which they ran out of. We'll never return to Jakes with their overpriced and unremarkable food. read more
