While in Port Hueneme for the morning we stopped at this IHOP for breakfast. It was busy but our estimated wait time was only 15-20 minutes. As we waited they seemed to be steadily turning over tables. Less one star because they skipped us and called a handful of people who checked in after us. When I asked about our turn, they noticed the mistake, immediately seated us and apologized. Everything went smoothly from there. The food was the best we've had at any IHOP -- Breakfast Burrito and Huevos Rancheros were nicely prepared. The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy. Generous portions. Our server was friendly and attentive. We noticed that the staff knew many of the customers. The close connection to the community was very nice to watch. Clean restaurant. Efficient team. Okay Ihop, your lunch is FIRE! I went in for a burger and fries for lunch and to my surprise the burger was Super juicy and bacon crispy! My waiter didn't check on me once I got my food. I had to get up and ask for my check. There was only like 5 customers including myself, so it was slow. It was around 11 am - 1 pm. So the service definitely should have been better. The restaurant was clean for sure. Everyone was cleaning, maybe that's why my server never came back. Anyways my lunch was amazing and I think I'll give it another chance based on that. read more

My dear friend loves IHOP and it was her pick to celebrate her 80+ bday. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! This place has been remodeled . Nice and clean ! This IHOP is actually better we expected. We came here a couple times when we came to our beach house and it's always a waited but today we went about 10 am. And got seated right away. Service was great! Our server was nice and kept checking on us and we didn't even have to ask for our ice tea,When she saw it's getting low she brought the new one right away. My husband got a classic egg Benedict and it's good and tasted classic. I got a classic French Toast with a side of bacon and sausages.The French toast was sooooo soft and fluffy and delicious! I am a chain restaurant snob. I'll own it but I was hungry. We knew from years previous experience: IHOP is open and the food is good This menu makes me want to be very bad. Chicken and waffles, crepes, waffles, fancy French toast and Pancakes! I ordered off the over 55 menu. A summer salad with berries and it was so good. Our check was half what we usually spend for lunch. The service was kind and polite. Server did not know the salad dressings, if you get this request the poppyseed. Hubby got a short stack. Yum city. I've eaten here about 4 times over the last 5 years, but the most recent visit made me notice that most of the servers are familiar and considerably attentive to customers needs. All chain restaurants have server turnover, which sometimes takes the care out of the overall picture, but this Ihop is the nice exception. Great service and good breakfast choices. Fresh hot coffee arrived moments after we sat down and a full Thermal Carafe was left with us as we ordered. I ordered from the 55+ area and saved 25%. My Eggs, sausage and pancakes were fresh and as tasty as at my own home (The wife and I love to be home chefs). My better half had the Dulce de Leche pancakes and Hash browns. She enjoyed all. I had half of the hash browns which were tasty, crispy and a nice large serving. Give the older chain restaurants a 2nd chance again and you will see that some can deliver exactly what you need and want with excellent service we all deserve! Great customer service. Great food. I was sat quickly. Right away, I was given coffee and minutes later, my order. Restaurant workers seemed motivated and took pride in their work. The restaurant looked very clean and organized. I had the steak t-bone and eggs. By the time my food came out, the waiter made sure I had all the condiments necessary for my meal and left extra napkins. It's like he read my mind. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Was in the area for a Posada with my GF's family, so wanted to try IHop in Oxnard. We arrived around 1030a and were quickly seated. The place was pretty busy, but the waitress quickly attended to us and took our orders. Food was out quickly, and very tasty with no mistakes. (She also gave our 1st grader the kid's paper and 2 crayons, so he was happy) Pancakes, eggs, and French toast were all perfect. However, there's shops nearby to kill the time. There's lots of free parking. But limited disabled parking. Service has always been attentive and friendly. The parking is also easy as the restaurant is located out on the corner of a large parking lot that's for a strip mall. As with virtually all IHOP locations, it gets very crowded at peak breakfast times on the weekends, and you'll probably have to wait to get seated if you go there at such a time. read more

First off: I normally love this place! This review is Ramon! For the most part, servers, hostesses and bus boys are amazing! This time however, was a complete waste of my Sunday, which I rarely even ever have off! We went in to enjoy a breakfast with our beloved dog. We specifically asked if she was allowed in the outside patio, in which case the employees said yes! They even allowed her to walk through the restaurant to get into the back patio! She's well groomed, well behaved and never has been an issue anywhere we've gone, if anything people can't wait to pet her or hug her. As we are enjoying our breakfast, an older gentleman by the name of Ramon (apparently the manager) comes out to tell us that our dog is not welcomed because patrons INSIDE didn't feel comfortable. My initial reaction was to just leave! After all HE DID MAKE US FEEL LIKE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS! Next time Ramon, just close the door, just like you did after I complained as to why the other patrons issues were more pressing to you. Problem/altercation could've been avoided. YOU sir, are NO MANAGER! our We could care less for Dennys, but your "managements" BS attitude towards respectful paying customers as ourselves will not get you anymore repeat business! Had a very bad experience with a worker named debby. Was in line since 6:45, opens at 7. After senior sunrise there was a large line and the worker asked if we thought there was a special, very rudely! "Do you guys think there's some kind of special? Because there's no special today" . We all said we knew that. She showed up at 7:03 with other workers then said it wouldn't be ready to open for a few minutes and everyone stayed. SHE THEN put up a sign that said "we had fumigation last night. We will not open till 7:30am Tues." Some still stayed then she proceeded to change the time until 8!!! Got a patty melt served on egg bread, a paper thin meat patty and 1000 Island dressing. They used to serve a real Patty Melt on Rye bread and a half inch piece of meat. The Turkey dinner used to have bread dressing and piles of turkey, they've gotten rid of that. Should not sacrifice quality for price. I would be happy to pay more. read more

Does not have the beachy vibe of the 'place down the road,' but neither does it have the 45-60 minute wait to get seated. We came on Labor Day about 930 and even though it looked very busy we waited less than 10 minutes. My husband and I ordered fairly basic breakfasts and were not disappointed. The coffee is excellent and there is non dairy creamer available. My scrambled eggs were done just right and my husband's pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The reasons for leaving off a star: neither of us liked our bacon; the turkey strips tasted like they were made hours ago and reheated and the regular bacon was not crisp. Also, the ladies restroom needed a lot of attention- messy and no paper towels in the dispenser. Besides that I'd rate our visit a solid four star. read more

Well I want to start by saying I've have yet to have a bad experience here. Until today a slight miscommunication probably on both ends, I took my 8 yr old out for breakfast and towards almost being finished she had to go potty so I took her came back to a clean table. I was not finished with my breakfast yet. I must say I Hoo made it right with no hesitation and offered to re make the meals and seat is back down or take it to go no hassle and very apologetic on their end. The place is very clean and in a great location. But the cook needs to be replaced. I came when they first opened and they got everyones order wrong in a party of 7. I had some of the items that belonged in my friends omelette were in mine. And she had some of my items. Then this time I got the French Toast Brioche and out of the three pieces, the second one was like cardboard. I had to cut 3 x's to get through it. (I didn't eat it). Then they take it and come back with two. And when I flipped it, all I saw was bread. It wasn't even fully coated with egg. The server was very very nice and got the order right. But the cooks are gonna bring this place down or lose repeat customers. I won't be back. Or it will be a long long time. I write this because ihop used to give a scoop of dressing under the turkey and a big scoop of regular mashed potatoes. These "smashed red" potatoes were gross, a consistency of soup, or mixed with mayo? I don't know. Broccoli was crunchy, cranberry sauce old and runny. No roll, only choice of pancakes or salad. I recently started Calorie Counting and found out that ordering from the kids menu has less calories than the regular menu. I am able to order from the 55 and Up menu , but too many calories and too much food. When I asked for the kids menu they said that I could order from it BUT they would have to charge me $2.00 more cuz I wasn't under the age of 12 years. REALLY !!! I'm happy to say that Dennys was more then happy to accommodate me. IHOP Restaurant needs to be more open to people who are choosing to eat less !! And yet still be able to eat out !!
