THEY LITERALLY HAVE THE BEST BREAKFAST IN OXNARD. The name of the place is very true so do your life a favor and come eat here if your a breakfast fan like me. THEY HAVE INCREDIBLE FOOD HERE. This place can get busy in the mornings but they have many tables here and usually isn't too long of a wait if you do end up waiting. This place is a traditional American cafe where the staff are super kind and very helpful. Menu here is extensive and offers a great variety of items. Prices here are very decent too. Every time I come, I have to get a Denver omelette. Big order and so filling: The ham steak here is incredible and of great quality. The pancakes and French toast are also a delight for my family. Overall, you can't go wrong here with whatever it is you order. Make sure to check them out! Thanks Best Breakfast Cafe for the great food and hospitality, till next time!

I'm on a blueberry pancake tour! lol delicious pancakes blueberries were in abundance. Turkey patties taste like sausage not freezer burnt patties I was pleasantly surprised. Waiter was tentive, it got busy quick so I'm glad I made an early appearance. I was not disappointed! Coffee stayed hot !

We like to support local restaurants and The Best Breakfast Cafe does indeed have a large menu, traditional selections, friendly staff and the breakfast served was filling ... it's not fancy or creatively different like new restaurants, just a good reliable family friendly cafe that is a mainstay here in Oxnard/ Port Hueneme

I love having breakfast at this restaurant. First of all, the service is great and the food is delicious. The price is also relatively reasonable. I especially recommend it for people who like Mexican food. I always order coffee, and of course refills are free. Suitable for couples, families and groups. Good for breakfast and brunch. There isn't much parking in front of the restaurant, but street parking is available nearby.

If you're looking for the best breakfast spot in Oxnard, this is it--full stop. Classic old-school diner vibes, cozy and welcoming, with the kind of place-you-back-in-time feel that's getting harder to find. The service is next-level: genuinely friendly, fast, and attentive without hovering. The wait staff makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The menu is huge, covering all the breakfast classics plus a solid lunch lineup. Everything is done right, but don't sleep on the savory sandwiches--they're unreal. Perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and packed with flavor that'll have you thinking about it hours later. Whether you're craving eggs, pancakes, or a mouth-watering lunch sandwich, you can't go wrong. This is the kind of spot you come back to again and again.

Was passing through the area on my way back home to West LA and had heard amazing things about this little diner so tried it for my first time this past weekend and can say I was honestly really impressed. Service was fantastic, our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast and for a very fair price. I loved how fresh all the ingredients were and the produce was especially delicious. I would call this a local country diner that was absolutely packed when we visited on Saturday morning. They don't have outdoor seating but plenty of indoor options. There's also a large free parking lot attached so finding a space was really easy. They have a very large menu filled with all sorts of classic American and Mexican breakfast options. For this visit, I chose the Chilaquiles Verdes and thought it was really good. I added some of their homemade salsa with it, which was a great combo and I would highly recommend this dish. I also got a biscuit on the side, which was very fluffy and really hit the spot. It's really lively on the inside and had a really great atmosphere so I would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through or to anyone in the area.

Come here for a solid, hearty breakfast/brunch. You won't be disappointed! We ordered a large variety of foods all with large portions. Highly recommend the menudo and the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It's super unique and literally tastes like both a cinnamon roll and a french toast. All the food we ordered was solid. Its good but I wouldn't say it's mind blowing. It's what I needed and met my expectations. I saw some of the tables nearby me order lunch foods including a quesadilla and a huuuuge burger and I really wanna give that a try next time. The service was quite excellent. The server was so attentative. I drink a lot of water lol and she probably refilled my water like 5 times without me asking. Thank you!!! Very much appreciated lol

The egg portions was literally 3 bites

Ordered to go, and when we saw what we got home, we were very disappointed. Got the pancakes and eggs and bacon meal, for $17. The pancakes were great, but I did not pay $17 for not even 1 egg's worth ... total BS if you ask me. I love dining in at this place, and everyone is so great serving but totally disappointed over this meal.

    Chile verde burrito. Sooo good.
    Lisa S.

OMG. Four words. Chile Verde Breakfast burrito. Ridonkulous. This thing was huge!! (See pic). I ordered a side of their house salsa just because I love it, but I will definitely order an extra side of the chile verde sauce next time only because I want to slather every bite in it. Very friendly service and that's that my order was To-go! I've had dine-in breakfast here and the vibe has always been high. Can't recommend highly enough.

We came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We each ordered a cocktail. She got a blueberry margarita and I got a cucumber gin mixed drink. Both were refreshing and delicious. We ended up ordering another round. For appetizers we ordered the crispy maple Brussels and tuna & salmon tartare. The Brussels were fried to perfection and glazed a sweet maple syrup. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. Since it was my girlfriend's birthday, they comped our dessert. Super nice staff!

I don't think there's a bad seat in the house, but we always love to sit outside so that we have a really good view of the aircraft coming and going. I tried the BLT and, oh my!!! One of the best I've had, with lots of thick cut bacon, very crisp, lots of lettuce, tomato and mayo (I ordered it as-is). Half was the size of a regular sandwich so the other half went home with me! RRR ordered the triple decker club on sourdough and loved his as well. Half of his went home also. We both got the cole slaw as our side which has a little pineapple in it. I found it ok, RRR really liked it. We shared a special milkshake, pistachio, and it was heavenly, highly recommended. Service was perfect, there when needed but not overbearing. We so appreciate well-trained staff! Highly recommended.

Dear Hubby and I have been to Waypoint Cafe a few times over the years. Because of how popular…read morethey are, it's not somewhere we try to go to on a weekend. Today we had to be out of the house due to Edison maintenance in your neighborhood. We were originally headed for Ojai, but we were hungry and didn't want to wait that long to get food. I suggested Waypoint since it was a weekday and hopefully wouldn't be that crowded. We hit them just before a lunch rush came along about 30 minutes later. it's probably been a while, but their ordering procedure has changed since the last time we were there. Now you enter, go to the host stand, and order and pay there. Then they give you a number for your order and a host takes you out to a table. It's a variation on fast casual. The idea is that they will start cooking your food as soon as you pay, and the process will flow smoothly from there. They have a lot of runners bringing out the food, and offering additional condiments or other things you might need, like more water or napkins. There are several reasons that I'm downgrading the rating from a previous visit. $18 for a plain Belgian waffle? No fruit, garnish, whipped cream, just melted butter and a very small amount of syrup. It looked more substantial because we added eggs and bacon for $3 more. The latter seems like a good deal, because the eggs were well prepared. Only two slices of bacon, though. DH and I split the plate. $21 for a plain waffle, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of bacon does seem excessive. We added a side of hash browns, which were plentiful, but were also oily. I don't remember having hash browns in another restaurant which were that greasy, so that was a fail. $9 for two cups of decaf coffee? That also seemed on the high side, especially when a tiny (and I do mean tiny!) addition of oat milk for creamer was $1.50. Really? And yet, they offered mini portions of hazelnut or French vanilla creamer for free. But we didn't know that ahead of time. A large glass of lukewarm pineapple juice was $6. I had to ask for a glass of ice cubes to be able to chill the juice down to where it tasted good. By the way, the waffle was slightly overcooked for my preference, making it more crunchy than I enjoy. Overall, it was $50 for a breakfast that DH and I split, just adding the hash browns and juice to stretch the meal. Service was good. It was the kitchen that let down the team. Also, ambiance-wise, the airport has added a large row of hangars to the northwest of the restaurant, which dramatically cuts down the view of the planes taking off and landing. That's actually another fail for the appeal of dining here. It's likely going to be a while before we return. Sad to report today's experience, but that's what it turned out to be - not the lovely little secret getaway of the past.

One great meal can happen anywhere, but when you come back four times and consistently have excellent food, great service and an enjoyable experience, that says something about how a restaurant is being run. The steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta was excellent, and the drinks were great as well. I also want to recognize Anna, the manager, who does a spectacular job. I told Dear Hubby that fish & chips at the harbor seemed like a great idea, and he agreed. Initially, I tried to get us a table upstairs at Brophy Brothers, overlooking the water. That was going to be about an hour's wait, so we retreated downstairs to Brophy's fast casual option - On The Alley. Essentially, it's the same fish & chips recipe, so all good there. The line was short and moved pretty quickly. While DH finished up ordering, I went out to the indoor-outdoor room to scout a table. I wasn't able to get one against the window, but we were still able to have a water view, just a bit further away. DH was hungry, so he ordered a burger, as well as the fish & chips. He shared a small portion of said burger, and it was really good. At a Brophy's establishment, I think of seafood, but thumbs up on that burger! The portion of fries they provided were extra generous. We missed having Adored Granddaughter with us, as she would have help demolish those fries! We brought some home to revive in the air fryer. I only had water, as they don't really have any beverage options that work with my restrictive dietary preferences. (i.e., no caffeine, and low- or no-sugar). The fish & chips hit the spot, although the fish was somewhat oilier than usual. DH got a cup of their delicious clam chowder, which was served with their delicious sourdough bread. That I got to have some of, and happier for it. Sunday afternoon at the harbor made for a great spot to people-watch. There were lots of folks who seemed like they had come from points east to get a break from the heat, just like us. We all tend to have a look that doesn't portray "Ventura local". Lots of young families, which was nice to see. Made us miss our granddaughter, for sure.

Waitresses try their best but seem stretched too thin to be very attentive. You are made to use Cakes online ordering and wait list program which is less than ideal because of their slow WiFi. While waiting for a table you are updated on your place in line. On our last visit we waited as next to be seated for 20 minutes as multiple large parties showed up late and were seated immediately. We were told they were friends of the owner and there's nothing they could do but the staff hates it- for what that's worth. Today my Avocado toast left much to be desired. Sourdough tastes like dry thin sliced white bread. Small amount of smashed Avocado; not enough to cover the bread topped with less than fresh pico da gallo, arugula a balsamic drizzle and 3 slices of tomato that were marinated in Italian dressing. All things I like but the combination was not good. BLTA used the same disappointing bread, flaccid under cooked bacon a tiny amount of pesto aioli and more avocado then there was on the avocado toast. Kids mini pancakes were good but chocolate chips are $1 up charge. I will say yesterday's eggs Benedict was good- hollandaise is excellent. Breakfast potatoes were a bit undercooked. Bloody Mary was a bit weak in my opinion. After all of that- I got a look at the receipt and there is a 2% BOH RevShare added to the bill. My best guess is this is fee to help pay the kitchen- To be honest we went here because it was a short walk from the Hilton. After the poor service, bad quality and hidden fees- we would be better off eating on the resort.
