We made the drive to the edge of the US, walked the nearby mall and were exhausted as well as starving. So we went for a quick nearby familiar chain to recharge for the drive home. You can't judge this location by its inside appearance. It seems it's been forgotten when it comes to updating the look and feel. When you get past this, there was only one server and she was great. She stayed on top of our order - she was able to remember it without writing it down! Our meal came out relatively quickly. Dad had his usual 2x2x2 and was satisfied as it's one of his favorite places and meals. Mom and I are more picky so we settled on trying the pot roast with broccoli. I had the Mac and cheese while mom had potatoes. I was very pleasantly surprised, we enjoyed it! The portion wasn't oversized and we left satisfied. I had sauce on the side which I think really helped. Broccoli seemed fresh and was not over cooked. Mac and cheese was nice and creamy. We left without room for dessert! So from a food and service point of view we left happy. Now if we can get corporate to give them an update...!

The restaurant was busy and noisy. Very convenient for families with kids... not such a good place for a quiet breakfast for two. The food is always decent. I stick to my favorite: Chicken fried steak and eggs. The staff was friendly. Our server Haylee provided excellent, quick service with a smile.

Stopped here for breakfast on my way to the mall. This is a very nice location because there are so many shopping areas around. The food was so good! The servers were very attentive and took our order pretty fast.

I'm beyond disappointed from this place, the customer service that we received today left us angry, sad, and dissatisfied. If I could post 0 stars then that would be the rating but I definitely wouldn't come back here again. They need to respect the customers and when a customer says I'm ready to order not let them waiting 30 minutes plus before taking the order.

Empty plate I guess it was supposed to be for toast

Place was garbage only two waitresses working one in the phone and one could not speak English the other lady kept sitting far across the room on her phone did not even ask if I needed a refill or ask if I wanted sausage or bacon and gave me a empty plate idk what what though toast? That I never got would not recommend this place again garbage go to McDonalds.

First and last time I eat at Ihop. Food wasn't good, service was horrible. I always order mozzarella sticks everywhere I go by these must've been the worst I've ever tasted soggy and not even fried. The glass cups had a metal tasted to them. Also at the end the server was standing next to me to see how much I was going to tip.

Came here for a random Thursday night dinner with my little mommy and had such a nice relaxing evening. Who would have thought IHOP would come through in such a way?! I've clearly been sleeping on IHOP. Our waiter, Giovanni was friendly, but verrry verrry quiet (in my Elmer Fudd voice). At first I thought he didn't speak English (I think he was Italian) but I think he just may not have been confident in the English he spoke, because he was able to answer all of our questions just fine and softly. So all was well, he was kind and served us well. He informed us that mornings are pretty busy (as expected), but most evenings are quiet like this night. Good to know. It seriously felt like we were in a movie as a couple of the few last people on earth. I've heard service is hit or miss here, but we hit a home run this night. I ordered Tilapia with Spinach Alfredo, mashed potatoes & garlic bread and enjoyed it all very much. Even the garlic bread was perfectly toasted with a soft center. I never expect much from chains like this, but they certainly exceeded my expectations. Nice! I'll be back...at night.

Our orders were taken quickly, and large waters with lemon were brought out to us. Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

It's always popping up as one of the best burgers in San Diego. The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.

What I ordered: * The Bonehead Burger (3/5): the burger itself was a decent size, but the BBQ sauce was a little too heavy for my taste, and the hamburger patty didn't have much seasoning. There was just a little too much going on flavor-wise, and nothing really stood out about it for me. * Fries (5/5): the fries were honestly incredible. You can order a half portion, and it's still a huge serving that's definitely shareable. The seasoning on them was great too. They also have an awesome craft beer selection on tap. Overall, I'd come back to try the smash burger or just get a side of fries and enjoy a nice craft beer.
