I had almost given up on IHOP in Wichita. We used to go to the one on Maize Road but stopped when the food and service suffered. But I received a gift certificate and decided to try another one on S. Ridge Road. It was like I remembered IHOP. Good food and service at a reasonable price. One drawback and I'm sure it's only at this location. I would have given it a 5 star rating but the host, an older man in a green leprechaun hat was acting strange. He was clapping and singing loudly in an operatic baritone along with the music. I am doing two stars and not zero because the food was great and I got what I ordered. The problem I had was with the service. The waitress was wearing an AirPod the whole time and wasn't listening to us. She kept saying yes and leaving but not coming back with what we asked for. I traveled close to 3,750 miles from Honolulu to Wichita to eat at an IHOP. Needless to say, it was an opportunity to have breakfast at dinner time. I do enjoy breakfast foods during my dinner meals, which is why IHOP is excelling at this niche category and others are following. Upon completing a road trip from Kansas City, MO to the outer fringes of Wichita, KS, we arrived here at this IHOP restaurant. It was close to the Wichita regional airport. With that said, it was around 7:30pm when we came in and the place was half busy. The ambiance was nice and quiet for a Thursday evening in October 2019. We sat near the entrance and got to experience what it was like here on a Thursday night. We were serviced quite immediately and our orders came out within 20 minutes of ordering, which was fairly quick. I ended up ordering a customized omelette that came with pancakes. I opted to substitute the New York cheese cake themed pancakes for the regular buttermilk ones, since I wanted something more snazzy. It turned out better than I thought and my mouth and tastebuds had a ball with them. For the most part though, the time spent here at this IHOP was good and friendly. Flavorful and well worth the 2 mile drive from the Super 8 by Wyndham we were staying at nearby. I'm guessing that this IHOP does swift business from the area's hotels and others who pass by the area. The overall experience here at this IHOP location was quiet, friendly, calm, and fun. The restaurant itself isn't too large and it provides that small intimate feel that can make your experience here at IHOP most enjoyable. For me though, the experience here was good and enjoyable. What's not to love about breakfast foods during dinner time - or anytime you want? That's IHOP's specialty. The pancakes turned out wonderfully, especially mixed with the strawberry topping. The omelette was pretty good too, especially with the assorted meaty goodness wrapped in a few eggs needed to make such an omelette burrito style. Such a grand meal was good to kickstart the weekend for me in the Midwest. While IHOP is the choice that many local people choose to go to, I was surprised to find some hidden gems here that you can overlook when you forget what IHOP does. While the prices here are very budget friendly and provides a welcoming environment for everyone, you can be sure that IHOP loves everyone. They treat everyone like family and that's the vibe I got during my experience here at this IHOP location near the Wichita regional airport. If you're rolling through the west side of Wichita, KS and need a place to eat, consider this IHOP. This IHOP is located at 515 S Ridge Road in Wichita, KS and is about 10 minutes drive from the airport. They accept major credit cards, as well as cash. We arrived in a private car and there was a bunch of parking options for y'all. I'm not sure about the public transportation options here on this part of Wichita, but best bet would be to have a private or rented vehicle to get here fast. If not, uber and lyft would be your next viable choice. However you get here, it's a bombastic deal for breakfast that is served any time of the day. The pancakes were Devine and I enjoyed the omelette quite nicely. If you're ever in the neighborhood or staying at the nearby hotels, consider coming here to this IHOP for your meals. Might cost a bit but probably an upgrade from the complimentary hotel stuff they have. I'd recommend coming here. I took my boys a couple of days ago to have dinner together. The experience was way over stimulating and the staff seemed young and inappropriate/disrespectful. The young lady waiting on us was very polite and respectful however she never gave us a moment to breathe and basically wanted to order for us. It was taking us awhile to order because the environment was very overstimulating for us. You had the regular Ihop music playing from their system, then you had the cook or whoever in the back playing their music so loud it was drowning the IHOP system out. Then the two girls in the front were playing their Spotify from their phones attempting to hear the music they preferred basically competing to drown out the cooks music. So between all the noise, and the waitress breathing down ours backs I couldn't even focus long enough to order. After eventually ordering and receiving our food, I ordered biscuits and gravy like a $9-10 meal came out with what looks like one biscuit broken open and gravy on it it was paper thin for the size and quality not worth it, I could have went to McDonald's and had sausage gravy and biscuits for $3 with a good size portion. My eggs were slimy. The pancakes my boys recieved were rubbery and hard to cut or chew. However the omelette my son ordered was very good. So it was all hit and miss. Let's see.. there was not very many people in there. It took us over 10 minutes to get the server to our table. After that we ordered and waited another 15 minutes or so. The employees were standing around with multiple dirty tables and the floor looked like a dumpster. They were also treating another employee horribly where he almost walked out. Our server brought our food and we asked for different flavored syrup and it took yet another 10 minutes to get that while they continued to stand around. After we ate, which btw the food wasn't great, the servers then proceeded to say it's finally slow while cleaning one table. This was by far the worst service I've ever had in my life. Husband ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and they were out of mashed potatoes. Went to N. Rock Rd. IHOP and it was a HUGE disappointment! They were not busy at all and it took way too long to get our food. The waiter never checked on us and we really could have used a refill on our drinks since we had to wait so long for our food! We ordered avocado toast and when they finally brought it out it was just a piece of toast with slices of avocado on it. No seasoning or anything else. Worst avocado toast we've ever had from any restaurant. The food was lukewarm at best. We realize they may have been short on kitchen staff but again they were not busy, only about 3 other tables with customers! Placed an order for Door Dash from IHOP on Ridge Road. Was totally and completely disappointed! I tried one of their new offerings; fried fish and fried shrimp with French fries. I also ordered doughnut holes that was supposed to come with two types of dipping sauce. It didn't take very long for me to receive my order. From time of ordering to actual receiving was impressive. Less than twenty minutes. What was not impressive was how greasy the shrimp and fish were. And the French fries tasted old. They were flat and stale tasting. I had to throw away most of my order. When I bit down into the pieces of fish grease came oozing out onto my chin. One piece of fish had disgusting brown flesh under the breading that when I bit into it tasted really gross. I really wish I would have ordered an omelet or pancakes because that's what IHOP does best. At least they used to. And for almost $18 the fish, shrimp and fries were not even close to worth that price point. I could have gotten a steak elsewhere. The five shrimp were about 1/2 to one inch long. Truly, size would not matter if they didn't taste like old, greasy leftovers. Pass on the fish and shrimp at IHOP. It's a ripoff that leaves your taste buds feeling massacred. read more

He keeps the servers and cooks on their toes with a calm, efficient and professional manner. He works hard to make sure that all of the customers have an A+ experience during their meals. The customer service that we experienced rivaled that of fine dining restaurants. It is really hard to find staff in any establishment these days that pride themselves on customer service. What an amazing surprise to find it on a random Saturday morning at IHOP. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff was friendly. Ignore the naysayers and give this location a shot.
