My favorite meal of the day has always been breakfast for me, and, its always a plus when you have a location that you can go to that's close to the house. The IHOP on Smoketown is a nice cozy spot, very welcoming, especially if you are coming in with your Family. The seating is actually almost immediate as you walk in through the doors and typically you can seat where ever you like if the booth is your favorite. I personally love the Smoked House Breakfast, comes with two eggs; 2 smoked sausages; hash browns and 2 amazing pancakes. The actual orders themselves normally take anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes from the time you seat down and of course depending on the traffic that day, enough time to get a conversation in or if your hungry get your meal right away. WARNING: I will admit that if you decide to go there on a Sunday morning there will be high traffic and your seating and oder might take just a little longer than usual but the food is still amazing. I want to say that there's always parking available so I don't thing that's something to worry about.. The only reason why I am not giving this IHOP a five star is because I've gone there twice already and witness two staff members arguing about something small that could off been taken care off behind close doors. Araceli performed that caliber of service for us. At first, we were disappointed that the coffee pot was not left for us to refill ourselves as we tend to drink a lot. However, it was not at all necessary as she refilled before either of our mugs were empty. Very friendly, polite, and attentive! Everything you want in a server. Also, we asked for extra crispy bacon, and it was delivered just as we asked. Other IHOP servers (at the Dumfries location) have told us they had to "fight" for our bacon to be crispy. No fight here, delivered perfectly with a smile. By her spectacular service. Araceli single-handedly, elevated our experience from 4 to 5 stars. This is our new breakfast place. read more

We observed several employees look in our direction and still no one greeted or acknowledged us. A second party entered and shortly someone seated us at a table. After being seated no one ever came to our table for about another 10-15 minutes. Ihop was one of my favorite place, no service so bad, my husband asked for a big steak with poblano sauce on the side no hasbrown, I asked for the the spicy chicken no hasbrown no red pepper & no onions. White toast and sides of strawberry cream creaps. The food comes they forget to bring my husbands toast. We wait for them, then we notice both of our plates had hasbrown. My husband dont like husbrowns at all thats why we asked no hasbrown. He send the plate back nicely. And the toast cause they got hard and cold. I dont like hasbrown but i put it on the side because i was hungry. They bring my husband food back they dont bring the toast again and the poblano sause. At the end they were trying to charge us 3 poblano sauce which one of them was not our fault and we didnt even eat it because we send the plate back. I was forgetting our crepes where really hard, wich they're not supposed to they usually soft and good. Took a video but cant upload. NOT VISITING ANY IHOP AGAIN. This restaurant has horrible customer service. They barely take time to clean the seats and tables, and when they do, they don't dry it. You end up sitting on a wet seat and the menus stick to the tables. Our server didn't ever check up on us to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. Our servers name was Robin now you know she was good if I remembered her name . I never remember names ! Robin was a phenomenal waitress especially at a diner. We all ordered water with lemon she brought us our waters and put a few lemon slices on a small saucer plan. My friend ordered tea they gave her a small kettle of water, assortment of tea flavors and honey. I know all this sounds "normal" but I was seriously impressed with it at iHop! Ate here this morning, 9/8/18. Bad experience all the way around. Asked for water with lemon to drink. Provided with a very small "sippy cup" size glass with no lemon. Eggs were undercooked on all three orders. Salt in salt shaker was wet and no silverware was provided with meal, until later. Server, Alex, recognized my tiny water glass was empty and said he would bring more water. He never did. So I ate my breakfast with nothing to drink. My son became ill from the meal. I recently moved here from Oklahoma last week and thought I would give IHOP a try since it was after 10pm. When I entered IHOP, a tall dark woman with braids behind the cashier counter made eye contact with me and never spoke or offer to seat me. I stood there for 4 minutes before a very pleasant young woman walked over to seat me. Her name happen to be Monae and she was my waiter. She was very professional and nice. My drinks were taken by unfortunately, another waitress brought my water and coffee. She was in such a hurry that she spilt some of the coffee on the menu. It wasn't until I whipped the menu that she apologized. Before my food arrived, two staffers were arguing with each other and it continued on and was an actual disturbance. It was just uncomfortable after that. But I will say this, my food was cooked to my liking and served in a timely manner. I frequent IHOP in OKC with my daughter become of the friendly staff and good food. My first impression of IHOP in VA is a bad. I hope the manager will address the employee's professionalism. read more
