SLOWEST service ever! We knew, though they never confessed, that they forgot our order until our server finally inquired after about 45 min. Then they quickly threw our orders together, not making the eggs the way my husband had requested and not fully cooking the hash browns. We visited this iHop while traveling home. The hostess we polite and super friendly. Our server JC was extremely thoughtful. prompt and polite. My son wanted to order an item that they were out of and he apologized for the inconvenience. The food came out as we ordered. He is a great server and we observed the other staff as being polite, jovial and friendly. At such a late hour that type of service is deeply appreciated. Food great as always.. This place is a mess food quality wise. I have no idea how or why people are lining up to go here. I had a breakfast meeting there today and not only were the avocados inedible I also heard and saw nearly every table in the area having a problem. Perhaps they are understaffed. Not sure if I have ever eaten at an IHOP. It seems that the comics make jokes about it all the time and I had a negative view going in. I was very impressed by the menu choices and the prices. Our waitress was very friendly and I like the fact that there's a pot of coffee on the table so you don't have to keep asking for refills. The amount and quality of our breakfast was outstanding. We would have spent as much money for an Egg McMuffin and coffee refills at you know where. I will definitely eat at IHOP again, especially breakfast. Just hope a future IHOP is as good as this one. Couple of things here. This is pretty much one of 6 places to eat in this area. There's also an Arby's, Wendy's, McDonalds...you know - the "off the highway" food scene. Nothing more for miles in any direction. I grew up here some 40 years ago so trust me. I took my parents out for Mother's day. Yes, went to IHOP at Zions Xroads for Mother's day. I was doing a lot of yard work and didn't want to pack up and eat in Charlottesville and drive back down. So here we are. This place was slam packed! Not an empty table to be seen. People moving in and out constantly. There is a bell that goes off each time the door is opened. As busy as this place was, I would have disconnected that bell in a heartbeat. It rang every two seconds the whole time I was there. No joke. My waitress was so nice. Service with a smile. I didn't get her name. (no name tag), so I can't highlight her here but between her and the cleanliness of the place, I gave this an A-OK rating. We waited a while after ordering before we got the food. I'm patient but it was a bit long. My french fries were a bit undercooked. I had the Turkey on Sourdough sandwich. That was good but the special sauce was a bit too much and made it a bit sloppy. I didn't ask anyone else at the table if they liked their food or not. Nobody complained so I'm good with that. Overall it was an A-OK lunch. read more

The staff is super friendly and, after an initial mixup, they were very attentive and couldn't help me enough. If I lived in this area I would come back for sure. This iHop is a bit hard to find, a little bit hidden behind a newish motel. Actually, this iHop is also extremely new. The inside was clean, and it was pretty empty when dad and I arrived at around 4pm on a Friday. The menu has improved vastly since the last time I was at iHop about four years ago, I ordered the Nutella Crepes, and I received four smallish crepes, and I was still kinda hungry afterward. The food is typical breakfast food. The only thing that I-HOP adds is a little flare for their pancakes, other then that breakfast food you can find anywhere. My only issues is that the service is sub-par. They seems to be drastically understaffed at all times. It took forever to get a waiter at the table to take a drink order and for us to get our drinks. The food came out slowly, but tasted ok. Unfortunately, it's one of the only places around so they have you locked in. This place has been OK over the past few times I've gone. Sometimes my friends and I go here after we've had rehearsal or something, and the service is great, but other times it's awful. Sometimes there's a lot of teenagers in here, which makes sense. I mean I'm also a teenager, but sometimes they can get pretty rowdy and annoying, even for my standards. One time the pancakes made me a little sick, but I don't know if I was already sick, or the pancakes got to me. Regardless, you can try it I guess if you're looking for pancakes. read more

I booked the back room here for my day after wedding brunch on July 21, 2019. I booked 4 months in advance. From the very beginning was nothing but issues with management. When I would call to update the guest number in attendance the managers would tell me the back room couldn't be booked on the day I had booked it. Finally, after getting the room for the day I originally booked it for....the day arrived. It was a catastrophe for the simple fact that with a room of 32 people the manager decided to give us 1 server. The server was AWESOME! However, she wasn't able to handle 32 people on her own. When I went to speak to the manager I said to her, "Is there a reason that we have a room booked for 4 months with 32 people and you only gave us 1 server?" and the manager says "well, you lied when you got here and said there were only 12 people." Very rude manager. Finally, we got another server and things went a little better. Food was cold but at least we got to eat. I would recommend better management at this location. read more

Well this is pretty much the only breakfast gig in town... have been here four or five times.... every time there have been issues- cold food, veeeeery slow service, always have tables open but never enough servers so wait time is typically extensive especially during high times. For example... am here now... we are on the list (party of two) and we can see two empty tables, that will only accomodate parties of two, in plain sight but we wait still. And now a third just opened up... yet we wait... still... would like to give it more stars cuz I like iHop but too many strikes against this place to go higher.... we keep coming only again cuz its about the only gig in town. Worst IHOP management, waited 45 minutes to be seated after being told that the wait time is 20-15 minutes, line was getting long but there's no one cleaning the opened table, each employee seems no to care minding there own personal business chatting and just walking around. Finally got seated (45 min later), no waiter had come to out table for 15 minutes, manager was happy chatting with customer across our table not minding his employees what they are doing (nothing) got the attention of the manager and ask if there is a waiter assigned for our table. I guess i got there attention after expressing my disgust with there business, waiter took our order but coffee showed up after another 15 minutes. My only real complaint about this place is how crowded it frequently is- there's often a line stretching all the way out the front door.

We just stopped at this location for breakfast and was very disappointed. We arrived at 7:30 a.m. And it took 45 mins to get served. When we arrived there were only 4 tables with guests, within 30 mins it was 65%filled. I heard the manager apologize to two tables for their wait, needless to say, it was not our table. Finally our food arrive after a long wait to only be like warm. You would think after that amount of time that the food should at least be hot. I do not know if corporate does the scheduling but this location is within an hour of a NASCAR track with a race today. You would think there would be staff to serve guests, NO. This used to be our goto place to eat, until Thursday 3/29/18 @8:30 pm. Our server was Lauren, I ordered a dinner entree, and my fiance ordered a breakfast entree. My fiance ordered her eggs soft scrambled, when her order came out the eggs were runny and uncooked inside, the waitress asked, "are these too runny?" my fiance asked that they be remade. The eggs came out, not as runny, but marginally better, however, by now the rest of her meal was cold, and she asked that her meal be remade, and she would eat the pancakes in the meantime. The plate came back out, the hash browns were still cool, the same eggs and now burnt bacon came out of the kitchen, so obviously they tried to reheat the same food instead of making a new dish. We asked to see the manager, she finally came over, my fiance explained what had happened, the manager said there were 2 trainees and one experienced cook in the kitchen. We said we would not pay for my fiancee's full meal, we would pay for the 3 pancakes my fiance ate, but wanted the rest of her meal taken off since it was not edible, the manager acted like she was understanding, and said she'd make an adjustment. The check came, and she charged us for the meal, but took $5 off as her "adjustment" they still charged us for the hash browns, so from a $12.78 breakfast entree, she took $5 off, we paid $7.78 for 3 pancakes, I wasn't going to keep this discussion going because I saw how this manager was "managing," several tables were still full of dirty dishes from previous customers, and as we were leaving we saw the manager sitting in a booth across from some customers talking and laughing. We went to the IHOP in Zion Crossroads Virginia. It was snowing so we can understand if they were understaff but the entire experience was not acceptable. First our server tells us right off the back after being seated that "they are short staff and it will be a awhile for our food" probably something we should have been told before getting seated. Then another guy came out and took our order. I ordered a pancake combo with eggs sunny side up, hash browns, original pancakes, and sausage links. My fiancé ordered eggs over easy bacon, rye toast, hash browns and a side order of sausage. When our food came out I got everything but my pancakes and sausage they put bacon on my plate and I order sausage, my fiancé also didn't get his side order sausage which we had to pay extra for. When we told the hostess who dropped off our food to our table about this she then only brings my fiancé his extra order of sausage out which as a loving fiancé he gave that to me since I was suppose to have sausage and not bacon. She never brings out the sausage that was suppose to be on my plate and never brings out my pancakes which what was the point of ordering the pancake combo if your pancakes never even come to the table?! When I finally got my pancakes we had to put them in a to go container....absolutely no excuse for this and a discount or any type of offer for the poor service was given to us. read more

(Visit was on 9/20/14) Absolutely the most disgusting IHOP I have ever been in. There were countless flies and insects on the ceilings and walls. We went in around 8am since were staying at the hotel next door. After sitting down for maybe 5 minutes, 2 bugs literally dropped down from the ceiling above my head and landed on the table, where my plate would have been, had our order been placed. I looked around and then noticed on the light cords from the ceiling (which looked sticky and dusty) and on the walls and ceiling were countless flies and insects. I complained to the General Manager who simply admitted she had a fly/pest problem and the exterminator merely told her aside of keeping the doors closed all the time there was nothing that could be done. Seriously!?!?! This greatly concerned me on what was going on in the kitchen, insect and cleanliness-wise, so me and my family promptly left the restaurant. This made me feel as though the pests were hatching in the building. I find it odd in this day and age there is no solution for a pest problem in a restaurant. I also have a problem with store operators being "okay" with the problem expecting customers wont get grossed out at the very sign of that many pests. Literally I could count as many as 25 at one time. The health department needs to stop by. If I could give this a 1/2 star, I would. read more

Came here again to try again thinking they would be better the second time and i was wrong again. I ordered the strawberry crepes and they are out of the cream that goes on top of the crepes. My husband and I arrived here just after noon. It wasn't too crowded and looked clean. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. The manager was wearing a deep blue shirt with stains all over it. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelete with extra cheese, onion and green peppers. Pancakes came with and I ordered hashbrowns. My husband ordered the breakfast sampler. It took 45 minutes for us to receive our order. My omelette was cold and dry. The only cheese was sprinkled on top and it was crispy. My pancakes were also cold - the hashbrowns luke warm. Totally uneatable. My husbands pancakes were also cold. The rest of his order was luke warm - the plate his food was on was hot. He ate his eggs and some ham - I ended up only consuming coffee. Our waiter apologized and we asked to see a manager. The manager never came over. We were not charged for my order. Another table in our section had food delivery issues and we heard them asking for the manager as we were leaving. This is the second time we have attempted to eat here and been disappointed. We will not return for a third time. This is a franchise location and the corporate office needs to audit this location. read more
