    Dancing Salmon Burrito
    Belldandy O.

IJ Sushi Burrito is quick and convenient if you want a fix of raw fish while at the Alderwood Mall. It is located in the food court, amongst many other restaurants. It wasn't that busy at IJ Sushi Burrito on Saturday around lunchtime. There was two other people ahead of me, but the line went by fast. I ordered the Dancing Salmon (poké salmon, avocado, green leaf lettuce, masago, cucumber, onion crisp, and spicy mayo), which they conveniently had split in half. This makes it a lot easier to consume and share!

Decent sushi bowl with lots of toppings, though for the price I wish they gave more fish. I got the spicy salmon which had a nice kick with its creamy sauce, and all the veggies I got were fresh. However, the scoop of crab was $3 extra, and they advertise it as "snow crab" but it was clearly imitation crab. This is a welcome addition to the food court, different from all the fried fast foods.

Ginger with a tiny thing of wasabi. Soy sauce in similar packaging to the left on the table.

So it is inside the mall in the food court. I guess the mall is always trying to raise the level with dining choices. So it is charged by what you add on from the burrito, bowl, or salad option. Then you pay additional for the protein(s) you add onto it. Each. At least the scoop size is good. I'd compare it to a medium to large sized ice cream scoop. Choices from tuna, salmon, spicy versions, and crab salad. The toppings are unlimited except for the avocado. Sorry folks...but it appears there is no brown rice option. The bowl is a good size. Depth wise...but come now. Use wider bowls please? Trying to get to the rice was a challenge. Maybe pack the rice on one side and proteins on the other. It sucks trying to eat and have bits fall out of the bowl trying to get some rice. All in all though...its worth the price based off this visit. Saw them making the burrito and they use a seaweed wrap. I'm sure that makes for a chewy battle. There was a place near our home in CA that could teach these folks how to make a burrito. Use a soy wrap to make it less of a battle. The spicy level is decent...but their options to add wasabi and soy sauce is limited. Regardless...its nice to see this place open to provide a new option close to home.

Taste: 5 stars, Cost: 3 stars The burrito is a good size and they have several options for protein. My fiancé got extra protein (shrimp tempura) and it was an extra $4 which is a total rip off. It was 2 pieces of shrimp. My burrito was only spicy tuna protein for $13. It says they give you about 4oz in protein, but they use those mini ice cream scoops (barely 2.5oz). He was also bummed crab salad was also considered extra for a few bucks. The toppings are unlimited but they don't have the most options I've ever seen. The fish was great & did taste fresh & have good flavor. I appreciate that they don't totally stuff the burrito with just rice. The bill was kind of high for a place at the mall.

Quick service and yummy poke! Given that it's a little place in the mall, it was pretty good. I'm not huge on eating at the mall but wanted to try this place out since they are a little newer to the food court. Was not disappointed at all!

Sushi Burrito is a decent spot for sushi or poke bowls. Went here during lunch and ordered a poke bowl with spicy tuna, chicken karaage, and crispy salmon with spicy mayo sauce. The food was good and I was impressed by the amount of options. I wish it was priced a little better. My poke bowl and a soda cost $29. The service is quick and the staff is friendly.

Loved the concept of sushi burritos. Glad they have a location nearby where I live. Large parking lot and large seating area inside the restaurant. They make the food in front of you and I got full from eating half of mine. Definitely rice heavy, could have more crab but I'd come back!

This place has good food, consistency, and quick service. I tried the main 2 sushi burritos they have and it was delicious! My favorite of the 2 was the California roll with shrimp tempura inside. So happy this place exist, will be back to get it again.

Spicy salmon sushi burrito (with several fixins)

There's a lot of customization available for a decent price. You get to pick almost unlimited fillings for your sushi burrito - and it can cause your item to bulge a little! Was able to get my fish fix with this burrito in its full-of-flavor, practically-falling-apart goodness. Nothing too extraordinary here, but if you're in the mood for some fresh fish in roll form for a not-too-shabby price, this might hit the spot. I had the takoyaki on a later visit. Pretty satisfactory, albeit it was 6 for $6.95 and each piece only had a small slice of octopus tentacle. But it satisfied my takoyaki craving well enough. Staff are friendly enough and will make your burrito/bowl practically lickety-split.

Tried sushi burrito for the first time. It's been on my list ever since my partner said I should try it out. I would say it's quite different but pleasant at the same time! I would definitely customize your burrito as it costs about the same as their preset menu. I'm glad you could edit the preset menu items too to add additional toppings if you want. It is a tad expensive but out of all the alderwood mall offerings I'd definitely pick this place over the others.

Have you ever heard of a sushi burrito? I haven't, but this place is true to its name. They have sushi burritos and bowls. If you're looking for just sushi, they don't have that. The burritos are pretty big and inexpensive. The service is great. They're all patient while you figure out what you want. This place is located in the mall food court, so seating and ambiance is just that.

I don't recall the last visit I had to the Alderwood Mall but it's been long enough where I didn't even know this place was even here!! For a fast delivery with fresh ingredients worth every bite. & every bit I paid for. $12.95 for a build your own sushi burrito & UNLIMITED FREE non-meat toppings. Lettuce, onion, carrots, green onion, corn, you name it it's on a sushi burrito. Their tako y'all was ALSO pretty dang good. I'll be visiting again, definitely.

I immediately decided that was where my last dinner at Lynnwood would be at. My boyfriend was already excited as he loves loco mocos and he had mentioned he was craving it. We walked over there and when we entered, we were greeted warmly before being lead to our seats with menus in our hands. My boyfriend got the build your own loco moco with the Hawaiian fried rice and katsu chicken while I got their Sunday only special, Hawaiian plate. The service here was very friendly and courteous, I feel like we could have been checked on more but other than the servers here were great! The music was chill island music which fit the interior and vibes. We were given our waters and waited a fair amount for our delicious and generous serving of food to arrive. My boyfriend said it wasn't the best loco moco he's had but he wants to give a try with the hamburger patty. I enjoyed most of my Hawaiian plate but the lomi salmon was extremely salty that I could barely enjoy it and the Kalua Pig was just okay. However, the Pork Lau Lau was absolutely tender and delicious. I loved it so much and am confused why I don't see it on their regular menu. We ended up getting dessert too as I needed something sweet after how salty the lomi was and the guava cake was not only huge but absolutely some of the best dessert that I've ever had. My boyfriend and I were absolutely pleased with this being our final meal in Lynnwood before heading home. We definitely want to come back to either location to try out their other offerings as well.

I ordered the Waimea (comes with 2 scoops of rice, 1 pork katsu cutlet, Teri beef, and 2 mini spring rolls) and the food arrived within 5-10 minutes. Everything was perfect; the portions were just right, the temperature was tolerable enough to eat immediately, the presentation was plated nicely, and the flavors were amazing. If this restaurant was closer, I'd be coming here all the time, 11/10 recommend and hope to visit here again in the future!

We ended up ordering both Inihaw Plates, one with Beef BBQ Ribs and the other one with Chicken BBQ. The plates came with our meat of choice, mac salad, a little salad, and two scoops of rice. I wasn't expecting much but I was wowed when they brought our food out. Presentation was gorgeous. Our ribs and chicken looked pretty good, saucy and plentiful altogether as an entree. When I had that first bite of the Beef BBQ Rib, I was floored. I'm pretty sure I took one bite and was just speechless, I'm not trying to exaggerate. The beef ribs were flavorful, juicy, tender, and fell right off the bone. I couldn't ask for anything more. The mac salad was good, it didn't taste like the mayo was too heavy for me. It tasted nice and light. And I had a couple bites of the Chicken BBQ, it was just as delicious as the beef ribs. Also the portion size was amazing. I think I'm a little partial, but the Beef BBQ Ribs definitely altered my brain chemistry. They were that delicious and I'll be thinking about these ribs for a long time. It felt like I was back home at a Filipino barbecue or I was in Hawaii eating at an uncle's backyard. It truly felt like the meat was grilling out in the back and we ate it fresh out the grill. It was absolutely wonderful and I'll be raving about this place to people for a while. Y'all deserve all the stars and love. And the music playing? Loved it, they were already on my island music playlist lol. We had an unforgettable experience. This place is a must try if you're in the area and even if you're not in the area as well. This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! I live in Everett and so it was going to be a little drive. Nothing crazy but a good jaunt outside of my usual grounds. Upon arrival i noticed it was located on the corner of a small strip mall. Ono Authentic Hawaiian Poke. It looks very unassuming until you open the door. Just the vibes and energy walking in there were seemed like what it might feel debarking the plane when you arrived to the big island. At least that what I gather since I've yet to experience it. But man, this place is small inside but the atmosphere feels big. Great music playing. Packed with patrons. And the poke counter just stacked with deliciousness. I've been here 3 times to get a good idea of the flavors and varieties that have. And even though I have my favorites , everything I have tried is by far incredible. It's fresh. The quality is amazing. And the flavors of each individual selection is stand alone but not overwhelming or smothering to the point you feel you can't taste the fish. It actually accentuates the flavor of each fish and brings about an undercurrent of flavor and subtle umami that I never experienced at any other poke spot. My first visit I had the large spicy Hawaiian tombo. Sided with macaroni salad. And an order of the same but on the bites, or poke bombs. I got my food to go and ate in my car. It was the most beautiful looking poke I've had. And the bite was just scrumptious. The rice was cooked perfectly. Now I always thought it was weird to have warm rice with cold raw fish but I finally figured out why. It just made the dish so much better. My second visit I ordered a regular but decided to get Joes sampler. I had a little bit of everything. Seaweed salad. Cucumber salad. Edamame. Scallops, which turned out to be one of my top favorites. Salmon. Tuna. I highly recommend getting the sampler for f you are undecided but open to trying everything. My last visit was my definite deciding choice in terms of what my go to order will be for future trips. I had the regular but half limu traditional and they don't do scallops on Saturday so I opted for the octopus. I'm not a fan of octopus per se, and more so for the respect of the animal itself versus flavor and texture but it was pretty good. I won't order it again because my go to from here on out will be the traditional limu, scallops, macaroni salad and seaweed salad. Next time you want to try or get poke, head on down to Edmonds and hit this place. You'll be satisfied.

I thought Mochiko chicken was supposed to be flavorful on its own, even without a sauce. Also the portion was kinda small for the price. The Kahlua pork bowl had pork, but also what tasted like loco Moco gravy... which was a good gravy, but not what we really wanted on top of Kahlua pork. When we saw that it came with "gravy" for the bowl description on the menu, I was thinking it would taste something more like the pork itself. Also, it was heavy on the rice. Lastly, the guava cake had a nice soft airy texture... but not enough guava flavor. It is huge, but mostly air. We didn't order it to-go, but it came in a to-go container rather than on a plate.
