Ikea love to come to the food court they have the best sweetish meatballs. It was so busy today it was a tiny bit overwhelming but really wanted some candles and meatballs lol! I love this location when you take the scenic route to drive up not on the fwy it's such a beautiful drive there. I love it and with the green grass and trees surrounding you and the beautiful homes on the way. Coming on the weekend is usually not my favorite thing to do but it was really nice walking through and seeing all the new stuff they have. They must have gotten rid of all the old smelling candles cause they only had a bunch of new ones which most didn't smell to nice to me. But found a couple different ones to try out. I also really love their ziplock bags lol I know but they give you so many and come in two sizes for each box and I love that they last forever. I bought 8 packs of these mirrors for $114 and it was a waste of money. The mirrors didn't even last two and a half weeks. They started to fall off the wall and crash down onto my bathroom counter and one even fell into my toilet . I wish IKEA would provide more sticky stuff than just two sticky things per mirror. There's aren't safe if they aren't sticking to the wall and you never know whey they will fall off the wall onto someone. I wish I can get refunded my money since these mirrors fell and broke and not because of my error but because IKEA was pretty cheap and not providing more sticky stuff to hold the mirrors up longer. We were happy super happy customers. Now from what I understand in this place, associates don't "approach" customers to allow them to freely shop. I'm glad we weren't done this way. AND there was no sight of customers loading their cars with large or bulky items, NOT ONE. It was upsetting, I admit because we were waiting for someone to leave and not a soul in sight loading a thing into their car. I love coming here. It's a fun place to visit by yourself or with friends or families. It's has nice cafeteria style restaurant with reasonable prices for food and drinks. For members the coffees are free too. Staffs are friendly if you can find them. It was very hard to find them when you want to ask questions and at the checkout counter only few cashier, mostly self checkout. I wish IKEA would open a store in Honolulu. I love their stuff. We went walking around the store and saw all the furnishings for the bedroom at great prices. They were starting to put out the Christmas furnishings that were for sale. Nadine told me that the gravy packets were excellent here. I picked up some of those and a European chocolate bar with hazelnuts. It was so good, but I can't remember what country it's from. Europe has the best chocolates. If you sign up to be an IKEA family member you get 5% discount off your purchase every time you shop here. Unfortunately, they don't have a store where I live, so I didn't sign up. My wife and I really like IKEA: how they allow as much research as you want to do before you go to the store, how they keep a very accurate count of inventory that is available to the shopper, and presenting a huge variety of furniture and accessories that are durable, all for a decent price. As my wife was completing the layout of our bedroom condo, she had her eye set on replacing our mismatched nightstands with the Vikhammer ($69.99 each). It has been out of stock for a while, but came back last week. She was getting emails stating this, one for each IKEA location (first it was available in Burbank, then in Covina). She figured out it was never going to be available in our nearest IKEA in Carson, and then started to throw out enough hints for us to go to make the 1+ hour trip before they sold out again. So we decided to combine it was a breakfast dim sum place that we wanted to try in Rosemead, and then go to IKEA when it opened at 10am. I also needed to buy a shelf to get my PS5 off the floor, so had perused the site beforehand to find the right piece of furniture that would fit properly. Settled on the Ekby Alex ($65) with the Ramshult brackets (three of them at $5 each). There are two parking areas. The one that Google maps directed us to was an underground parking garage. It was huge, reminded me of an airport parking garage (requiring signs everywhere to tell which way the entrance was), and big enough to justify explicitly remembering where you parked. You need to take an elevator to the ground floor, where the main warehouse was. The rows are numbered alphabetically, with numbers telling you how far to go. Both Vikhammer and Ekby Alex were stored in this area, and we got the exact location by looking on the website by store location. You need a flatbed cart while shopping at Ikea. Now, even though you see the shelf as one product, it is actually 2 different SKUs, and we had to go to the 'Home organization' section to pick up the Ramshult brackets. We also needed screws and anchors, so wanted the Trixig, which also seemed to be in the 'Home organization' section. Just to find that section took a bit of time. In this section, there is numbered system to find your stuff...you just have to walk around until you see the display, and even then the actual product might be stored a bit away (I didn't see any employees on the floor to help). It really is self-service here, but a good place to just browse for inspiration if you have time. They only had one register open, so waited a bit. They sell Swedish food products here including chocolate. We didn't have the appetite to stop by the cafe for their famous meatballs. Checkout had no snags, and the large elevator fit our cart easily, taking us down to the parking floor. All instruction/assembly instructions are provided online and for both of our products, no words were used...just pictures (to eliminate the need to translate to every language that IKEA sells their products). I'm not a visual learner, but have come to trust IKEA's instructions to get it done, and am always impressed with the engineering to design something like this, and provide the instructions to make it work. For the first Vikhammer, I studied each picture and was able to assemble it without having to undo/redo anything. I was so confident that I figured I could assemble the second one by memory...nope, took me longer the second time because I had to undo something TWICE...sigh..my sense of accomplishment took a nosedive after that. The Ekby Alex took a lot longer, requiring a lot of measuring and the use of my own tools...but the finished product looked good and I'm confident that a future convertible sleeper chair will fit. I still remember when IKEA started to open stores in the Midwest, and how people (including us) would make a 2 hour one-way trip to Chicago to get furniture to bring back to our first homes. That's what we could afford at that time. We slowly started to buy "better" furniture made of solid wood for a lot higher prices. But now with us furnishing our downsized home, it seems to have come full circle, even including the long drive back and forth. read more

Shopping in Covina, California... I just needed those elastic things that are clipped to the corners of the sheets under the mattress. They keep the fitted sheet in place... We went to CVS, Target, and Daiso - no luck. I wondered if IKEA had them... Niki looked it up, and - even though the corner clips are on Amazon - I would be able to buy them now and use them right away (instead of waiting for them to be shipped). First, we parked in the free covered parking. It was a good thing because it was a bit rainy from Tropical Storm Hilary. We did walk through the entire maze of the store. When we got to the bed linens, we asked one of the friendly employees where those corner clips were. We were directed to "textiles" on the lower level. Somehow, I found some gifts for friends along the way. I even found horse-shaped sponges, tote bags, and luggage tags for my sister - her birthday is next week, and she's Year of the Horse. When we got to Textiles, we had to ask another employee becauseI couldn'tfind them. OMG... They're small, unlabeled, and have no price. They were in a box on a random shelf. At this point, I was going to pay whatever. I found my IKEA code on the IKEA app (saves me 5%) and went through self-checkout. Not bad. I was on my way home back to Long Beach and decided to stop in for a quick lunch and take advantage of the free coffee membership get with a check in. Upon arrival I was greeted by a female associate by the front entrance who was kind and helped guide me to the cafe area. I approached the cafe area which was incredibly clean. I decided on the smoked salmon salad and a cup of coffee. All of the cafe associates were engaging and very nice. They brewed fresh coffee upon the request of a patron which was awesome bc it that meant I was going to get fresh coffee! The view is amazing and it's honestly the perfect place to just escape and enjoy an affordable lunch. They had a nice selection of both meat and plant based items, in addiction to their sustainably raised salmon. The only thing I would change is possibly make the weekly specials more visible for patrons to see. If I had know it was 50% off all hot entrees that day, I would have selected the hot option. I waited for over 30 minutes for assistance in designing and purchasing kitchen cabinets, but no one was available to help. Ten minutes before closing, Isaac finally appeared, only to tell me they were closing soon and could not assist me. When I raised my concern, Manager T. Duong acknowledged the situation but simply stated that while they could still honor my discount, they were unable to provide help at that time. The issue isn't just about the discount--it's that no one was present in the department to assist customers. If Isaac was on break, there should have been another staff member covering the kitchen department. As a manager, T. Duong should be ensuring proper coverage and customer support. I love coming here with my daughter when we're out this way and getting lost. We do it every 6 months or so. Everything was fine up until I went to check out, I've been feeling like lately racial profiling has been becoming more and more prominent, noticing that I was the only black individual in the entire store, when I went to check out I found it interesting that my check out I was selected for a random verification that I had paid for all of my items. I passed of course, I had no intention of not paying, but nonetheless it was uncomfortable and made me feel singled out. My sister wanted to have lunch together, little did I know she wanted to eat at IKEA lol I opted for the 8 piece Plant Ball meal, served with a scoop of mashed potatoes, peas, gravy, and a squirt of lingonberry sauce. Absolutely trash experience ordering from the Ikea website and have orders fulfilled by the Covina location. Despite this being an online order, you will see in the details below why this review is tied to this specific location. Here is the timeline of events: June 5, 3PM: Order placed on ikea.com/us. We specified that we want to pick it up from the Ontario California design planning and ordering location and the order confirmation page mentions that it will be available for pick up next day between 11AM-7PM. June 6, 11AM: I call general Ikea support (as no number is available for the Ontario location) because the tracking page still says that the order has been received but nothing about it being packed, dispatched, or on the way (all valid statuses according to the tracking page). The support rep informs me that the order is on the truck and we can expect a status update via email and text once it is ready to be picked up form the Ontario location. They are not able to provide a reason why the online tracking page is not updated. June 6, 6PM: The tracking is still not updated and we have not gotten any notice that the order is ready, but the pick up location closes in less than an hour. We decide to drop by Ontario because there is no indication that the order will not be ready for pick up today as promised at the time of the order being placed. They confirmed that the order never even made it into the systems for the Covina location and definitely will not make it onto a truck and shipped over to here before the close. We get on the phone with Support who confirm the same thing and they let us know that they we can place another order and they will cover the charge of expedited shipping to our house rather than to a pick up spot. The new order is placed and paid for, and they confirm that our new delivery is for Sunday June 8. June 7, 5PM: I get an automated call informing me that the delivery window will be Sunday June 8 3-5PM. June 8, 4PM: No other notices via phone, text, email, or otherwise that the package is on its way. We get on the phone with customer service who tell us that the truck containing our order broke down. They assist with creating another order for us to be shipped to our house today which we got a receipt of via email. They also inform us to expect an email from the shipping company with a delivery window before tonight. At this point, it is 48 hours after we were originally supposed to get our order. June 9, 10AM: Online tracking for the newly created order was still not updated and no notice was received by the shipping company with a shipping window, so we are losing hope it will be delivered today. On our THIRD call with customer service, they AGAIN informed us that Covina never received or processed our order. It is now 4 days since we placed the order online, 3 days since we should have gotten our order initially. Within this hour, we refreshed the tracking page of the order and it still says Order Received, with the updated delivery being Wednesday June 11, which would be 5 days after we were supposed to receive our order initially. June 10, 6:06 PM: I get an automated phone call informing me of a delivery window of 3-7 PM for the following day. June 11, 12:35 PM: Online tracking for the order still reflects Order received and no indication it is being packed or prepped in any way, even though the start of the delivery window is in 2.5 hours. June 11, 1:00 PM: Welp, just got confirmation from general customer service that the order is not coming today. This is the FOURTH scheduled delivery that was missed by Ikea (Friday to Ontario, Sunday to my home, Monday to my home, and Wednesday to my home). The excuse this time is simply that the delivery company was not able to pick up the items from the location. I am currently on the phone awaiting a supervisor to see what they will do to compensate us for all the wasted time on a call, as well as taking time away from work and family to ensure we are at home to accept deliveries that never happened. As of June 11 at 1:03 PM, we decided to cancel the order as we decided to stop putting in any more effort to try and get this rectified and are looking into another furniture shop for our needs. Visited this location for the first time to find some furniture and bits and pieces for my place. I was at Ikea Costa Mesa a few days prior to my visit and all of the showroom stuff was under construction so it was nice to come to an Ikea that had all of their showroom stuff on display. I left inspired but I also feel like I left with bed bug bites on my skin. I felt them while I was visiting the store and the next day I had a few more bites.
