I literally love IKEA. This location has improved vastly since my last visit. Some things that are new -- + They have a kids play place where you can literally drop your kids off, leave your contact info and go shop. We did not take advantage this go-around, but would love to when my kids are older. + The downstairs food area is now open! Froyo, pizza, hot dogs, cinny rolls and a cute gourmet market with all sorts of goodies. My kids loved the post-shopping treat. + Next to the downstairs food area there is a really cool light installation and my kids loved playing in it. + The upstairs cafeteria feels renovated and they have this really cool big section with play houses that my daughter loved checking out. Overall this IKEA is clean, spacious and well-stocked. We designed our own besta system and liked using the computers in the design area. There was also lots of staff there to help out. The one negative thing I will say! I don't recommend getting the pizza toy. The pieces don't Velcro to the pizza so it's just a ton of felt pieces which makes it a mess to store and cleanup, and plus just not that much fun to play with. My new besta piece is put together and for the price it's a very solid quality. I am a huge fan of IKEA and my last visit just solidified that even more! This is one of the most underrated spots to spend a cold winter day when you have small kids. read more

Stopped in here in May 2026 and food court is a little different, more expensive everything and they do at least have a to-go. Some items that used to be serve yourself (garlic bread, the veggie medallions) are now all behind the glass serving-wise. No $5 meatball deal anymore, and parking is really annoying still - main entry you can go up from ground/1st but really starts on 2dn floor along with the exit on 2 - which means if you parked on 1st, you need to come up/down with bags/items... annoying so go up one level to park. Excellent experience here. It was my first time here and I knew what dresser I needed, but was unsure where to go. When I exited the escalator, there was an employee, who asked me if I knew where to go, I replied, no, as she typed in the own, and told me exactly where to find it. Went to IKEA to return a set of kid's chair and table that I bought few months back. I was able to prepare the return barcode from the IKEA app. Upon arriving at the store, I checked-in at the kiosk and got called within a minute. The associate scanned the barcode and refunded the amount in the original form of payment. Was such an easy process. Love IKEA's 365 days return policy. After the return, I went to the online pick up booth to get the new table and chair I ordered via the app. The associate brought my packages within a minute. This was my first time using IKEA's online pick up feature and it was a breeze. I'd be definitely using it more often now. I also went for a walk in the marketplace. They had some new inventory. I saw new boxes in the storage section, bought one medium size box that had a decent cheap price. read more

Not sure why the poor ratings but this has been my favorite IKEA for years. It is small enough that you don't get overwhelmed, but large enough that they have anything that you could desire front furniture, home decor, bedding, and the list goes on. Parking is so easy and with huge lots I have never found it to be a challenge, even on weekends. There is always a ton of staff members so if you need help, someone is there. The show rooms are decorated impeccable. It is actually quite fun to look through all the rooms as no detail is sparing and even the closets in the set rooms have clothes. The organization is easy to figure out based on signage so you can easily find the section you are looking for unless you just want to browse through. It is quite peaceful. Upstairs is more of the showroom and also a food "court" and down below you'll find kitchen, bedding, bathroom, accessories, and so forth. They also have the typical IKEA dining experience as well as the food section with food to go by checkout. Love this place. read more

The selection for what I'm shopping for is always available and if they don't have it, it's shows on the store website. Their value and quality of the food (meatballs, salmon with the salad, and veggie hotdog with the toppings) are definitely a 10 for me. Getting there by bus is quick and easy. I've stopped at the Paramus location a couple of times at this point. It's feels smaller/more contained than the Elizabeth location. The showrooms are nice. I mostly short cut it to the marketplace to grab what I need, then do self-checkout. If you are doing that, the Paramus store is easy! Doing online shopping and pickup at this store is another story - it's a crap shoot. Some days, it works like clockwork where the process goes as it should. Once you arrive, you check in with your phone and you're alerted as to when to head over to the online order pick-up area. So streamlined. On other days, you are one of many standing there, waiting for over an hour after getting conflicting alerts on your phone and hoping a disgruntled customer doesn't pop off at any moment. First time in an IKEA store, and it did not disappoint. Went on a Friday in November arriving at 1:15. Parking was easy. The store was not crowded which made for a most enjoyable experience. We traveled 2 1/2 hours to get to store. Wish there was one closer. First stop was lunch in the cafeteria for the famous Swedish meatballs. Choices included chicken, salmon, and the meatballs -- vegetarian and regular. Sides could be changed up. Prices were low. We ate in an attractive space bathed in natural light. Indeed, the meatballs did not disappoint. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade. The lingonberry relish was delicious. We brought a cooler to take home a few bags of meatballs. I also bought a jar of the relish. After lunch, we explored the huge main floor that housed dozens of well thought out DISPLAYS of furniture, furnishings and accessories available. Plus many more items. At one point, we saw a team of designers expertly adjusting a display. There was no doubt that the store is 300,000 square feet! Elevators, escalators, and stairs were available. Over 7,000 steps this afternoon. The store is clean and well lit. Arrows on the floor served as directional guides as well as the many signs throughout the store. Well placed large restrooms were spotless. Next, we went to the marketplace floor to pick out items to buy. There were two types of shiny carts and large yellow bags for gathering purchases. Pencils and paper were also available to jot down info. Prices were excellent! Selection was amazing! Found several items I needed and several more that I knew I wanted after seeing them. There were huge stuffed animals for $16.99. There were sofas and chairs. There were pans and dishes. There were loads of pillows and pillow covers. Plus much more... Famous for their kitchens, the displays of kitchen cabinets, stoves etc. were incredible. The cabinets come in many colors including blue and green. There were many attractive storage pieces including bookcases and cabinets to solve storage needs and display possessions at affordable prices. Then, we went to the checkout floor where there was a marketplace. The chocolates with a crunchy filling were better than a Heath bar. The chocolate was better quality. Check out was efficient as expected. After checking out, there is a food cafe with tables that had many tempting items including ice cream cones, specialty coffees, two large choc chip cookies for $2.00, cinnamon buns, and hot dogs. I love the Ikea cafe. When I was studying for my insurance certificate, we used the cafe tables to drink coffee/tea and eat veggie meatballs for sustenance. When you're a member, tea and regular coffee are free and you get discounted food items. You also get a birthday treat, and that's what I was here for. I was craving the strawberry vanilla cake but couldn't find it. Plenty of chocolate cake. I got the veggie meatballs for lunch, a cup of tea, and after talking with the cashier, she helped me find the cake I was looking for. It was worth the hunt! The café is well lit, beautifully decorated with IKEA items, and the Wi-Fi is strong. You can't help but buy something before leaving, but it's cheap and fun to shop here so a shopping & cafe excursion well executed. read more

I came here for the first time to attend an event. The event was well organized. The staff were soo friendly, so engaging, and made the event extra fun. After the event, my fiance and I had a nice dinner here. The server was nice. He answered all our questions about the food. First time trying the meatballs. I understand the hype. After eating, to digest, my fiance and I took a walk around the store, looking at the items. There were many things on clearance so the price of many items were really good. Unfortunately when we were ready to leave, it was so hard to figure out the exit. That's the only reason for one less star. Better signage to show the exit would be good. I ordered an over $3,000 IKEA sectional and only half a couch was delivered. After multiple calls, I learned the two connecting loveseat sections went out of stock after my purchase--but no one notified me. Instead, IKEA knowingly delivered the remaining pieces and charged me the full amount for a sofa I cannot use. What followed was even worse: IKEA refused to pick up the unusable pieces for three weeks, and told me it would take another two weeks after pickup to process my refund. That's five weeks of giant boxes clogging my home and $3,000 tied up because of an inventory and communication failure on IKEA's side. After speaking with the supervisor (Maria), she offered no empathy or solutions, instead making it seem like it was not her problem to fix. She lacked basic human decency with not trying to fix the problem, saying that it would cost IKEA the money for the delivery fee (keep in mind the delivery fee is $69). Failing to alert me that key components are out of stock is misleading. Making the customer wait weeks for pickup and refund is unreasonable. What should have happened: Immediate notification when core parts went out of inventory. Automatic hold or cancellation (with options), not shipping half a product. Expedited pickup and a prompt refund, not a month-plus delay. I've trusted IKEA for years, but this experience has been exhausting and costly. Please fix your inventory checks, order communication, and refund timelines, so customers aren't left paying full price for something they can't even assemble or use. We came here on a Saturday, about an hour after they opened. The lot was already busy and there were a lot of people already loading up their cars with their flat pack furniture finds. The buzz of the excitement begins here. We mostly came for inspiration as we are looking to furnish our new home. The showroom makes it very easy for anyone to see the application of any piece of Ikea furniture or décor as it's all styled together. I had never eaten here before but we opted for a quick lunch break, we split a Caesar salad, chicken tenders and French fries. The food was fresh and delicious, this fueled us for the rest of our time in the store. We didn't leave with any large pieces of furniture but the marketplace always gets me, I couldn't pass up on a few artificial plants (they're perfect to mix in with real ones) and plant stands. I would caution any prospective customer to think long and hard before purchasing kitchen cabinets from this company. I bought cabinets and counter tops to redo a kitchen about 8 years ago. The paint on all of the cabinet doors have worn away prematurely. I eventually called IKEA about this and It took me almost two months of emailing photos and calling back to get someone on the phone that cared enough to even look into this and give me a call back. Every single rep that I spoke to gave a different story about the status of my claim; mostly lies. After making me dance for almost two months, they finaly told me that they looked at my photos and they won't honor their "25 years warranty because the damage was caused by me cleaning the cabinets". I guess soap and water with a soft sponge or towel is way too much for cleaning their cabinets. Their attitude towards the whole situation is disgusting laughable. To add insult to injury, I found out that IKEA stopped selling my specific kitchen cabinets and they severed their relationship with the manufacturer shortly after my purchase. Given their imaginary 25-year warranty, you would think that they would have just simply credited me for the kitchen cabinets to make it more affordable to purchase a new set of cabinets. This would have still been inconvenient, but at a minimum, it would have been easy to make an argument that they had some shred of honor. I suspect they had or have no plans on honoring their warranty, so their goal is to kick the can down the road and hide. I love Ikea even though I went there one time and they were closed for a holiday party. I was pissed that I was trying to do some holiday shopping and they were closed. It really didn't make sense to me that they were closed at that time, but I guess it's an indication of how well they treat their staff. They are a huge store and have everything you may need for your house. I think some people may want higher quality stuff, but not me. Give me value! I appreciate that they are environmentally conscious and continually improving. I usually look up what I am looking for and find out where it is. I frequent the Elizabeth IKEA more often than the Paramus. I am so impressed at how efficient the Click and Collect process compared to Elizabeth. It was on a week night, closer to closing. There is a ton of information on their website and in the emails they send (e.g., you can't make changes after you order, must pickup within 24 hours, etc.). You can check in on your phone when you arrive. The parking was a little hard to find on the 2nd floor as the signage wasn't consistent and the "Returns" signage on the building was further back, but we were able to ask someone pushing carts. We picked up our item within minutes. It definitely helped to go during an off peak time. Paramus also allows you to drive up close vs Elizabeth you can't get near the building or cart to the parking lot. Is what you want out of stock? Signing up for email AND text notifications helps! (And they don't deliver at the same time... if something doesn't work on the web, try mobile.) This can't solve true supply chain issues... read more

Ikea does have a bit of everything to furnish your household. But, the place is exhausting, after spending a day walking through their odd store layout...it becomes tiresome. It doesn't help, having to walk in circles to find the exit and then looking for the isles for the furniture in code...eesh. Also, I didn't mentioned the fact that I had to visit here in the first place to return some items. Since this was my first time to return something, I was surprise by their process. There were people at the register and a LOT of people just strangely sitting at benches laid out near the registers. I thought the bench sitters where just relaxing. Instead, I was surprise to find out that you have to register your name in the kiosk to be called in the order of the above monitor list to be helped for any returns. So, I had a really long wait, as if I was sitting waiting for my Amtrak train to be announced. Quite annoyed that some customers took extremely long, causing a long wait, and some cashiers were just present standing around wasting time not assisting customers. IT will be a long time before I ever make a trip to Ikea again. The place is just dreadful. read more

I visited this IKEA with a friend who was picking up furniture. I have only gone to the New Haven, CT location so this was a first for me. My first impression was that it was easy to get to and the parking was massive. The store itself was clean and bright like any Ikea. There were definitely more items out on display for rugs and curtains. Quite a few rooms were being renovated which was cool to see them get worked on but it did make it seem messier because of it (but nothing was in the way of the path). The cafeteria was closed at the market after checkout was huge but again, the cafe was closed down there, too. The pantry area to buy packed food is bigger than New Haven but not too much stock was in. After check out, we got lost looking for the car and that's when I realized that parking can be a nightmare because you enter on one side and exit out the other. Since IKEA is so big anyways, you kind of get lost already. We waited in the car for the furniture pickup and they came out pretty quickly. I'm glad I went with my friend because they left the cart with us and went back in. There was no way he could put an entire wall to wall closet in the back of his car by himself without injury. It was heavy! Maybe they don't help put furniture in the car? Good to know for others if they go alone. Overall, great Ikea if you live closer to this location but I still think New Haven is my go-to if I ever need to personally go. read more

Came to IKEA for a new dresser. Wrote down the number of all the items we liked and when it came time to find them, all of them were out of stock. There were no staff available to ask questions or help us. After spending so much time here we decided to eat at the food court. Had the Swedish meatballs for the first time and WOW soo good. We got 2 plates of Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and veggies. We also got an order of chicken fingers with fries and 2 Caesar salads. The meatballs were by far the best out of everything. I will say this location is far better than Elizabeth. It seemed to easy as a lovely, smiling employee printed out the exact sleeper sofa I wanted, with a barcode for easy check out. 'It'll be ready for you at the pick up counter!' That was at 430pm. It's 5:42pm and we are now being told to scan a QR code for TaskRabbit to deliver it for an extra charge because they don't know when this order can be brought out from the back room. Absolutely ridiculous. There was someone on the line with an order from 3:40pm who hasn't received their furniture. This is the most inefficient way of running things. From White Plains to this location, is a super easy 1/2 hour on the Garden State Pkwy... can't complain. We all know how it is with paying and all the horrendous lines- but hey...it's IKEA. If you can believe it, this was my first trip to IKEA ever. My boyfriend and I wanted to casually browse their selections on a slow Wednesday night. The store is so spacious that there's plenty of room to shop without being swarmed by people. The displays were cool and inspiring for future home plans, it was genuinely a fun trip to make even though we didn't make any purchases. The downstairs selection of odds and ends was quite nice, but I was definitely interested in the cheap frame options, so I'll be returning to score a good deal. Not bad. I've never actually been to an Ikea until now, since they're not in my general area. The only interaction I've ever had with them, was a delivery of a shelving unit they had. I was going to be in the area and wanted to order a desk anyway, but figured I would check it out in person first before I ordered it. Inside is huge and spacious. The displays are well done. It almost like a maze, but since the displays are nice, there was no complaints. The prices are decent for some things. The employees were non-existent, since I had zero interaction with anyone. No one asked me if I needed any help and no one smiled, but I also didn't approach anyone either. There were a lot of strange customers in this location on this day, but that's everywhere. I'm just glad that you don't need to buy display models and your potential item is boxed after seeing some of the behaviors towards things. The parking lot is also huge and there was plenty when I went, so it's nice to know. There was 2 massive lines and only 2 registers open. I was actually grateful I wasn't going to have the room in my car for the desk just seeing how long and slow that line was. For a store that size, it's kind of ridiculous not to have more registers open. If you can carry out, great, If you can't, they do have delivery - again, which I've tried with no issues. All in all a decent place to purchase furniture and whatnot. I would return again if in the area, but just to browse if anything. Maybe. Any purchases made would be online-delivery if at all. Is there's something special about New Jersey & Ikea? That seems like a loaded question where people are either nodding or guffawing at this sentence. For whatever reasons, my experience at this particular Ikea was downright magical. We sought out a new bed for our 3.5 year old and had him in tow. We found helpful staff and managed to not buy an extra full yellow bag of stuff we absolutely didn't need. The staff was really helpful with explaining that we'll need to pick up 4 boxes for the one bed, because Ikea furniture construction is nothing like this magical place. The only thing to remember is to park your car on the second level as the checkout is on the second level, and that way you're not moseying around with a cart of boxes and a 3.5 yr old trying to get down to the 1st floor. read more

This past Saturday we went to IKEA. We didn't think we'd make it in with about an hour and fifteen minutes left until closing. The line was moving along quickly and safety precautions too. It had been awhile since I came here and a lot of new products were out. We brought a dresser and another furniture for the bedroom. It always helps to have the displays there to locate what we need. The cashier was friendly after I told her I accidentally forgot my rewards card and suggested I'd keep the receipt to go online to follow how to update my information. By the time we came back home, we completed both furnitures. Next time we'll go back to check on more products again. Suggestions- if you like or love something, take a picture of the tag and decide on what color the product you prefer.
