OK. There's not much new I can say about IKEA - well I can't really say anything new! Not a great start to my review!! LOL!! Look, it's clear already that most people's minds are made up about IKEA. We know what it offers its customers and it's such a conglomerate of shopping for home stuff you're usually going to find what you're looking for. As for me, I own a desk, a bed, and used to own a double-tiered coffee table I liked but the movers utterly destroyed that one - it was the movers, not IKEA. On this visit, I was looking for a food tray because my former one has met a horrible fate at my own hands! LOL! I looked everywhere and paused where I needed to, and felt like I was in the Jacksonville, FL IKEA again. Seems like the IKEA stores carbon copy each other! Do we say carbon copy anymore?!! :D Now, even as I made a new friend along the way and took some photos, I located the food trays, but when I walked by the cafe, I knew I wasn't going anywhere until I got some Swedish meatballs! Goodness it's been around two years since I've had them! And this time, I only had to pay $1 extra to add a few more (I believe 4)! This dish is a favorite among IKEA shoppers and it's very good and worth it! I took time to enjoy the meal and head back down to get the trays and check out. Well, my fried, to my surprise was still there to my disbelief and I said she couldn't leave until she bought everything in the store! Her cart was getting there! We got a laugh out of that and it was time to go. IKEA can be a love or hate relationship for may who shop there, or are one and done. I think the furniture I have could be wrecked if not taken apart correctly or stored improperly on a relocation. But today, it was two plastic trays, which will do just fine, both under $5. Remember the 50 cents hot dog at IKEA food court? That's what drove people here most of the time. I remember a line of people with shopping carts going to the warehouse, and as the line moving along, you will stop at different sections or departments to get stuffs that you want, it's like you're going on a tour at the museum, and it was fun. I guess Covid changed all of that, now you can go in as you please, IKEA is a European company, do their products are a little different in styles and quality, but you never known what you could find here, still fun to do, maybe not worth to buy unless you are shopping for new furnitures for your new home or something, then when you get to the food court expecting some Swedish cuisine, well the price of inflation changed everything 50 cents hot dog is now $1.25, combo is $4 you get 2 hot dogs and 1 drink, so maybe the deal is better at Costco $2.99 one hot dog one drink and the size is bigger. They have a self check out kiosk now, but half of the food on the menu aren't available to order, hmmm then I won't be able to try any Swedish cuisine like they advertised. I was still on my poster frame projects, they had a beautiful fancy collection of frames, just not the right size for mine, even for the biggest one in store. Love being able to take a break and eat while furniture shopping bc. I am throughly surprised by the food here! I got the salmon that comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes and added meatballs to it. Price was really good for the food. The salmon was soft and flaky, really good texture. The mashed potatoes gravy was super yummy. The meatballs were very flavorful and soft. The broccoli was just steamed and flavorless and all stems. It's so much fun to browse at IKEA. Also nice when we find items that fit what we need. Today we left empty handed, however, we're set on a couple of items that we will go back and get. It's an excellent place to come to get ideas on how to remake your space or make it for the first time. Depending on the item, quality varies (as in any store) but they do have many good items to choose from. If you need to return, the lines can get long. The wait can get long, too. Usually people are helpful. I've had to go to get a missing part in customer service and they were extremely helpful. Today after browsing we stopped to eat at the watery upstairs. Yes, we needed the Swedish meatballs. The wiat was long (considering we didn't have that many people ahead of us). We waited for twenty minutes for food. The cost was excellent. $17 for a salad, a plate of food (including 4 extra Swedish meatballs for $1 more), a side of Mac and cheese, 2 and garlic breads. Overall, I know we will be back here. We're on the lookout for a bed frame and a closet organizer. I'm sure we will find it here! We will be back! read more

I e been shopping Ikea for years. Luckily I furnished my apartment before the prices skyrocketed by 80%. This visit was to pick up some things I needed that I come in for because of price. Also my son was visiting from Montana and wants to go in before returning home from vacation. I do understand why supply and demand since Covid made some supplies hard to find and more expensive. The things we went in for would have nothing to do with that. The things we went in for were triple the price. I needed up with a much smaller order than expected due to the prices. So much for grabbing the managers special on meatball lunch anymore. Party of 3 was expensive and their soda machines weren't working. I only mention this because the price for 3 was so expensive for just 3 meatball plate lunches. Usually stock up on a things since it's an hour drive. I understand the matress return policy. I get it. Cant have people opening up matresses, using it for a week, then returning it for a full refund. But what do you do when you open up the matress and there is a blatent blue stain on it? The answer is you can't return it. You opened it up. So you get a gift card. And you'll also have the manager named April call you out in front of the entire store for both your integrity and for caring there even is a stain. Hey April, it's a stain on a NEW matress. It's disgusting. So if you're reading this realize once again, because you already know, IKEA products are cheap and terrible. They'll come with stains, and you just have to accept it. It's pretty much the same layout at ever IKEA I have been to. Have you ever gotten breakfast at IKEA? No? Well you should! They have crepes in the morning! WHO KNEW because I sure didn't. I didn't discover these amazing breffus slim pancakes until a couple years ago & at this location too! I also just started getting into gardening (like almost everyone my age these days) and guess what I found here.. A FREAKING PINEAPPLE PLANT! If you try to grow these babies on your own (taking the top off of a pineapple and letting it grow some roots) it will take you two years. As much as I love watching the process of a plant and how it grows I was really impatient. I actually went to IKEA because they have Sansevierias (aka Snake Plant/Mother's Tongue) but when I went a few months ago I saw none. I came across my beautiful pineapple plant and went home happy. Fast forward from that visit I saw a TON of snake plants! By this time I already got a snake plant from another local nursery. The employees are amazingly helpful and kind. 5/5 on service. Shout out to Ernie and Savanah from Home delivery for trying everything in their power to help us. The only reason why this is a 2 star review is that after we purchased the items (bed frame, headbord, beam and slate bed, and mattress), and we went to home delivery, they can't deliver to Temecula anymore. Upstairs, the worker in bedding told us the only way to have our old mattress picked up is to go through home delivery and assured us Ikea delivers to Temecula and only home delivery can . Apparently, they recently changed providers. We had to ask for a refund on everything and reorder everything online- if you order online though, you can't get your old mattress picked up and we have to now pay a non-ikea service to pick up our old mattress, which adds on the cost for us. read more

I love IKEA it has cute furniture and has good food @ the restaurant. But lately I have noticed that the quality of furniture has gone down. I purchased 4 different drawers and a bed frame and the quality is not the same as years ago. For some reasons the drawers sometimes hit with the top when closing and other days they close smoothly not sure if the wood swells or what but my first IKEA drawer never had that problem. Also you can see the wood over the white paint and is not completely white it chips easily and is fragile. I been told that you get what you pay for. So I guess one has to spend more than $400 dollars to get a good quality drawer nowadays. read more

How does one review an online experience?! I honestly don't think the people at the Mission Valley location messed this one up, but it created all sorts of interesting problems for my bf and me. First, they're out of a lot of pieces we needed to build out the kitchen. That's a covid problem. I get it. However, discovering that if we wanted subsequent orders of previously missing items delivered we would be charged a delivery fee each time something came back in stock and we ordered it presented a problem. Seriously, we're already on our third order! But wait, you say, why not just pick it up? Great idea! So that's what I did with our third order, scheduled it for pick up in MV, but it somehow ended up in Burbank. Burbank?! Surely I must've clicked on the wrong location...but no, I double checked the text they sent me to pick it up. It says Fenton Pkwy. The associate at the counter informs my bf that the order's in Burbank. Aww, wasted trip out to MV. Well, alrighty then. Do NOT use Click and Pick Up. I paid for a Kallax shelf that came in stock, chose my pick up time for the next day which was 3 - 4pm. I ended up getting off work early, swung by at 12:30 to see if they could grab it. They denied being able to do that, but try back at 2pm when they start to pull for 3pm pick up slots. Ok, I can kill some time around that area and then I came back at 2:40 or so. Nope, they guy behind the counter said "did you get a text it's ready?" I said 'No' so he said wait. Not once did he ask for my Order number. He and several guys were standing around and I thought my god, it's one box but they couldn't grab it or look it up. I waited until almost 3:30. Nothing. So, I left. Today I returned thinking well, it has to be ready now. I show the guy my order number and told him I still hadn't got a text. He said, "Well, looks like they refunded you yesterday. That product was oversold." What?? I got no email, no text I went to Ikea twice from N. County to pick it up and this happens? I never got an email or text telling me my money was refunded and it was oversold. I still haven't received said email. Originally, I were charged $3.99 for Candles labeled as $1.49, and I was (rightfully) furious. I walked right up to the customer service desk, with revenge intent on my mind, but the staff were incredibly helpful and understanding. I showed them a photo of the correct price, and they pointed out that if I had an IKEA Family membership, each candle would only be $.50. I was delighted that they would go above and beyond to help out a poor sod like myself. I left the customer service hungry after such an ordeal, so I went to buy myself a vegan hot dog, cinnamon roll, and water cup. All for the low, low price of 2.89, i was satisfied with my meal. The vegan hot dog is missing the signature fried onion topping, and pickled radishes, but alas. The sweet mustard was delightful. Ikea is simple, convenient, reasonably-priced, and gets the job done. But, you have to remember to always build things in order (going out of order will give you a headache later), remember that most of these items are not heirloom pieces (half of it is particle board... Remember, it's a 99 dollar dresser), and that sometimes pieces are missing, but you can come back to pick up those missing pieces. They have a 365-day return policy. The instructions for building things are very intentional, each PICTURE is very intentional... If you see a "X" over something, you have to read between the lines... Like, don't use the same looking piece that's plastic, use the metal one, because it's probably a part of the furniture that has to bear more weight. I had to learn the hard way, don't make my mistake! Been waiting here for the returns line for what seems like at least 30 minutes already. Ding a star. They have 2 desks going, and one desk with a very messed up order bc the couple has been standing there for at least 45 min, to an hour. IKEA salmon in the kitchen is sustainable and reasonably sourced. I like the dill lemon sauce that comes with it. This sauce is also available in their small grocery section. I love IKEA. I don't come often but when I do, I walk every inch of the store for inspiration and ideas. And to see what's new! I also make sure to stop by the cafe for Swedish meatballs and my free coffee. (Be sure to sign up as a free member.) The food is tasty at an amazing price. Where else can you get a Ceasar salad for $5 and salmon salad for $8? It's a bargain! I've had good luck with quality for the items I buy. I appreciate the intentional and minimal design found here. It's easy to get overwhelmed and want to buy everything, especially with some great bargains. Be selective and come when you have two hours to browse. Ive been a loyal customer for over a decade. Ive purchased everything from furniture, to flooring, and household miscellaneous. Well.... Who would have thought that I would come in to file a claim for damage to a firestick remote damaged by their triple A batteries. Today I brought in my firestick remote with chemical stains identical to the stains on their batteries. To my disappointment, the always friendly customer service desk which replaced missing parts to their furniture kits, and replaced defective components to their products, today turned me away because I didnt have a receipt. I spent $20 to replace my remote but they dont understand or dont care that THEIR batteries caused the damage. Im contemplating filing a civil lawsuit which I know will win, but only to teach them a lesson on being responsible manufacturers in the United States. I drove 28 miles there and back home, and that is not as important as being a consumer advocate for others who might have experienced the same scenario with their defective batteries and incurred damages greater than $20 on their electronic devices. read more

This is my first time visiting this location but I had visited different IKEA stores around the world. This store by far offered the worst customer service. We bought a duvet cover set that was supposed to be on sale for $14.99 but we got charged for $24.99. Unfortunately, we didn't realize the "mistake" until after we had left the store. So we bought it back 6 days later for a price adjustment at the return department. However, we were told that the item was no longer on sale. When we informed the associate that the tag indicated it was on sale when we purchased it, he had to call that department to confirm. After waiting for a considerable amount of time, we were told that the sale had already ended during the time of purchase and there was nothing they could do about it. We even voiced our frustration to the manager but he told us that unless we would walk to that department ourselves, take a picture of the tag to show it is still on sale, there is nothing that he could do about it. So we decided to return the item. To curb our curiosity and frustration, we decided to go back to that department to confirm. Lo and behold, the item was still on sale! Once again, we went back to the return department and we were told to take a picture of the sale tag to show the cashier when we checkout. The associate who helped us at the return department was courteous (hence the one star). However, IKEA needs to reevaluate how to reconcile the advertised price versus what it ended up charging customers without gaslighting them and giving them the unnecessary runaround, wasting their much valued time and gas! read more

We visited this IKEA location looking for a dresser. After locating the one we were interested in buying, we took measurements and looked at options for drawers and other storage options. When we returned home we were planning to purchase it online. After researching it we discovered that it had been discontinued two years earlier! Why doesn't IKEA remove discontinued items off their showroom floor? Why waste customers time? I use to like IKEA and this store in particular however the management here should really be on top of inventory and aware of what has been discontinued and remove it from the showroom floor. read more

While I absolutely love the ikea experience, I'm disappointed that literally the last 4 times I've come here, (specifically to dine), I have not been able to get the famous meatballs! This is over the course of a year, I'd say. One time they were remodeling, one time they had just closed the restaurant at the end of the day and I arrived too late, another time they didn't have regular meatballs-only vegan and veggie options. I honestly couldn't tell you which was which, (both surprisingly delicious by the way). And today was no different! I went in, and they only had cold food available from their little fridge section...something about not being able to use the heated food equipment? I don't know. And maybe I really do have the worst luck. But how can it be that the last 4 times I've been here-in a year, I can't get my freaking meatballs :( I know I can buy them frozen, but what I want is to eat my meatballs at ikea, then do my shopping!
