That's the only IKEA store for the San Diego area and it's always so crowded! Parking is tricky. They used to have great deals but I feel like the prices are too high now. Some of the furniture have good quality but the ones that have decent prices seem to be worse quality. Service is good and there is always someone around to help and answer questions.

Today my brief stop at IKEA was very pleasant and productive. Ordered one item online for pickup and once there decided to purchase a additional one and I was in and out of there in 15 minutes Great customer service at the pickup counter and my walk to the additional item inside the store was relaxing due to the absence of people. Very happy Four stars because IKEA is too expensive for the quality of wood based items.

The setup here is very different than most big stores. It's absolutely designed to keep you in the store and to allow customers to see many different items in one area. I came here for some Oftast dishes which are a lot like corelle dishes but much less expensive. I did find the dishes I was looking for but I had a time finding my way out of the store. This gave me more time to see all the cool things IKEA has to offer. I ended up finding some kitchen items I had never thought to look for. Signs pointing to the exits actually do not take you to the exit right away. The signs will take you to what feels like going through a Disneyland turnstile line. Just when you think you're getting out of the store or onto the Disneyland ride you've got a whole other roundy round or two to get through and lots of other goodies to see. Cool stuff here if you have the time and patience. I'll definitely be back. I love my dishes!

First off, I hate shopping. The problem with IKEA is that you have to walk to NYC and back just to find what you need. There's a lot of stuff. Stuff you may like. Stuff you don't need. Stuff that looks expensive. Stuff that looks cheap. Stuff that's cheap. Stuff that, for what you get, is expensive. Stuff you can just take home. Stuff that you have to put together. Stuff that you want to throw out the window cause the instructions are in Sanskrit. If I ever come back, I'll go to the cashier to check out. Their self-checkout sucks, especially when the customers don't know what they're doing! Then I had to wait for a worker to check my items.

These days we generally go for the cafe, which aside from peak hours of lunch and dinner is usually stress-free and very efficient. The pricing, portions, and quality are all very solid.

This is my second time in this IKEA in ten years. The last time I visited, I was looking for furniture. This time, I was just killing time while M. attended a meeting at the library next door. So, I'm not a particularly paranoid person, but I do not like the one entrance / one exit set up that Ikea embraces. I also dislike having to shuffle through the entire store following a circuitous and meandering route. Being stuck behind people with their shopping carts or a clueless family walking hand-in-hand blocking the entire aisle is not my idea of a fun and enjoyable shopping experience. However, if one was to discount those annoyances and embrace this shopping model, IKEA is well-organized and well-stocked with a variety of useful and not-so-useful products & services from furniture, to kitchen / bathroom remodeling, all manner of household goods, fake plants, real plants, and more with a variety of price points from super cheap to reasonable. Of course, the quality of the goods varies but you can certainly find functional, aesthetic and well-made items if you take the time to do so. I saw employees in the store, but not a single one interacted with me. I had to use self checkout for my random purchases (chopsticks & heart cookies) as well, so there's that. I'm certainly not leaving feeling like customer service is any sort of priority for them. Parking is tough. Nice restrooms & restaurant / dining area for the famous Swedish meatballs & other little treats. As long as you gird your loins prior to an IKEA shopping trip, you should be fine. Good luck!

Shopping in San Diego, California... Since IKEA was right next to Lowe's, my cousins and I went inside for a look. Like every other IKEA, this one had a cafeteria, convenient restroom, beautiful displays, kitchen gadgets for sale, tote bags, home decor, furniture, and snacks! I was able to use the two gift cards that I won in Seattle on my purchases! Thank you!

I always love coming to ikea because they have really cheap food and love window shopping for new home goods!

IKEA is a classic! unfortunately their meat balls contain pork, their veggie meat balls were good but not too flavorful. the combination of sides was nice. the salad was fresh. fun seating area with IKEA classics too!

IKEA near Fashion Valley was very spacious however pretty difficult for parking. It's right across a costco, and share the same entrance lanes, and we all know Costco's gas station takes up so much of the space. I recommend avoiding a weekend. The only thing is that the service isn't the strongest suite, people don't really care much about your existence, so most likely recommended finding things yourself. My boyfriend and I went there for the afternoon just to browse and everything was pretty cheap quality, wishing it was more durable. We ended up getting an ice cream cone, and it was so good. Highly recommend. The IKEA itself can be crowded.

Decided to try the pizza and hot dog from IKEA. You can order this on the ground floor near the exit. Pros: -self serve machines allow you to easily place your order -they have veggie dogs Cons: -this was probably the worst pizza that I've ever purchased. It was beyond dry (looked like it was sitting out for a long time) and had a cardboard-like crust. -the hot dog was on the smaller side and seemed ordinary (just mustard and ketchup for complimentary toppings). With Costco across the street, this hot dog cannot compare. I learned my lesson and will stick to the dining upstairs.

Until I visited Furniture Depot in Chula Vista, most the sofas and accent chairs were either cheap, poorly constructed, overpriced, they didn't have the size sofa for my living room... or the fabric wasn't the color I was looking for to match my other living room decor. One store I was going to buy from prior, the owner had me pay for the entire living room set upfront "because it was custom" then after waiting over a month the guy told me the fabric was discontinued. I found a swatch sample in their showroom that was basically identical, but the owner told me it would be $1,500 more for that fabric. I told him the deal is dead, give me my money back, which he did. I concluded the guy seemed nice but he was like a wolf in sheep's clothing. After that painful ordeal, I went and searched showrooms in San Diego's South Bay. I was about to give up but there was one last store I went into that day on Broadway in Chula Vista, Furniture Depot. Right from the beginning I was impressed. Their showroom larger than most furniture stores with vastly different styles throughout. The manager Dustin greeted me shortly after I walked in. He was there to assist and answer any questions I had. Dustin was very knowledgeable about all the products. He put everything at ease. It was a relief speaking with someone in the business who was honest and transparent about everything. After speaking with him only a few minutes I knew I was going to make my purchase through this store. Everything I was interested in could be ordered new, he explained. He offered custom sizes and many colors to choose from. Dollar for dollar, based on the quality of product, I don't think there's any local competitor that can match their service or quality. The turn-around for the custom-sized furniture was very fast, less than 2 weeks. The guys who delivered the product performed a white glove delivery service for a very low reasonable fee, lower cost than most furniture places offer. I ended up buying a 92" sofa, ottoman and accent chair - all new - all matching fabric, great quality, and very comfortable to sit and lay in. I'm glad I found this place. I highly recommend this furniture store. (My photos in this review)
