They change the breakfast offered to concierge members each year and unfortunately it's less appealing each year. As for the take away lunch food, we were quite surprised to find seaweed salad in the fried Chipotle Chicken Wrap. I understand it's Hawaii but a more illustrated description other than chipotle chicken wrap might be more informative.

My family and I visit the Big Island every year and one of our favorite morning rituals has become driving down to Hapuna Beach early in the morning for some snorkeling or relaxing in the beach chairs, followed by the breakfast buffet at Ikena Landing. Somehow our name is even in the system with our favorite table; it's a mystery to me how that happened but I'm so grateful. The spread of the buffet tables, from the omelet station and waffles, to the ochazuke, pastries, fruits, juices and more, the view of the blue ocean and the matching turquoise Chilewich placemats, and yes, even the ruthless hordes of birds that descend upon the tables as soon as you turn around, has become one of our favorite places on the island. One of the best things about the Westin is starting your day with beautiful ocean views and sounds and a lovely breakfast! Everyone here is so nice and many have been here for years!! Had the best mimosa on my life here - Prosecco and lychee but it was also ice cold with an ice cold glass! Perfect !! Platinum members and above get a free continental breakfast which is fresh fruit, juice, coffee, pastries . Smoked salmon etc or you can upgrade to add cooked items! They also have other optional dishes to purchase! Note on the platinum breakfast 20% gratuity is added automatically. Favorite way to start the day and something I always look forward to !

We have breakfast each morning here. As a Marriott member with standing, we get half off the buffet. The staff are really nice. We usually go right when they open. Since we wake up early, the food is pretty good. Love the omlette bar. She makes me eggs over easy She also makes the waffles fresh The eggs Benedict are overcooked, and the granola is mushy on the parfaits bacon is always crispy it you like that. Not a bad place at all

Enjoyed breakfast here on our last morning. Everyone raved about this restaurant, our experience was okay. We were seating fairly quickly, but after that service was pretty slow and picked up again towards the later part of our meal. Our server was very kind and worked with us to find good options for our daughter with allergies. They charged us $28 for a plain waffle and strawberries. Seemed steep, considering that's what they charge for the banana waffles which were much more extravagant. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They don't do lattes - just coffee. The location was beautiful. We ordered a la carte. Most people did the buffet.

Love this view from here hee

Year after year, my family and I have gone to this particular resort whenever we stay on the big island and every year the staff have always been welcoming, helpful, and sweet!! I love coming here early in the morning and listening to all the local Hawaiian birds sing as you sit, you can still hear the waves crash on the shore, they're very silent but around 7 AM not too many people people are up. Lol. Since I have so many food allergies, I love the buffet here although it's gone up in price over the years. They also have a great menu with numerous options for breakfast and lunch. We always end up getting the buffet just because they have so many made to order items as well as some Asian favorites!! My son and I both love the Waffles as well as their omelettes that are made to order! I am also a sucker for all their delicious tropical Hawaiian pastries, and fresh fruit! The guava juice is really delicious as well as the Lilikoi! I have a pretty weak stomach, and I love the Hawaiian coffee here it's always somewhat of a light roast, which is perfect for my sensitive stomach!! Upstairs there is the Peko Café with a beautiful view of the adult pool/Koi pond as well as the beachfront! They're great espresso, bar and cocktail lounge is also fun to visit in the afternoons and certain nights. They have a pizza oven! Check on my reviews for that Location as well!

Day 3 The Açaí bowl was very refreshing & very good. Photo speaks for itself. The prosciutto arugula eggs benedict is best eaten with the arugula. If you were to eat the arugula as a salad, separately from the benedict it's a little bland. Although we enjoyed the the banana foster waffles again, our son felt it was too sweet as a breakfast dish & not his cup of tea. As always, great service!

I take it back!!! Yesterday's breakfast was subpar but today's was amazing!! We had the continental breakfast again plus ordered the Ikena Omelet and the Loco Moco. Everything was fresh and delicious. The fruit was even better! OMELET The omelet was fluffy and filled with all the ingredients we wanted. The hash browns were so good!! It's like they balled up mashed potatoes and coated it with shoestring potatoes then dried it to a crisp. So so so good!! LOCO MOCO Wow! Beautifully plated with big slices of mushrooms in the gravy. The patty was cooked nicely. And the rice!! The rice was so much better than yesterday's. Not sure what tomorrow's breakfast will look like, but according to our waitress, it's hit or miss. Hopefully when you eat here, it'll be a hit.

Excellent breakfast spot in Westin! Whether you're in the mood for a breakfast buffet or a deliciously curated dish, you're in for a treat! Gorgeous view of the ocean, the friendliest staff, and 'ono food all in one. Service -- the service is incredible! You can tell Westin prioritizes customer experience because their staff is extremely attentive, always addresses you by your name, and makes sure you're comfortable and satisfied with your experience. Shirley was so sweet and came by the perfect amount of times. I never felt rushed or abandoned. Food -- I chose the Hapuna Ironman, which is labeled as gluten free and a SuperFoodsRx item. It sounded like one of the healthier options on the menu, with steamed greens, chickpea hash, and egg whites, and I was not disappointed! Soooo tasty! Even though I was dining alone while on a work trip, I had an awesome experience and I can't wait to be back.

Disappointing breakfast buffet. Poor/stale bakery items. Dry fish. Not enough local items to make it memorable. Amazing views though.

All the other menu items "looked" good and I ordered a coconut fruit water thinking it would be absolutely loaded with fruits but....it was extremely underwhelming. I think if you're gonna use AI generated photos you should at least make the actual product you hand paying customers, look like the photo. I got a huge cup of coconut water with 3 slices of kiwi, some blueberries and a couple slices of strawberry(she told me it would have pineapple but it didn't which was ironic because right across the malasada truck there's always the people selling fresh pineapple). The Dubai chocolate strawberry cup I tried on a different occasion was delicious but honestly that's an item that isn't complicated to make so I wasn't surprised. I also wanted an Açaí bowl but sadly they didn't have that available so I can't say much. Y'all should ditch the fancy drinks. Just sell water and canned juice along side with the real money makers, the MALASADAS. Also ditch the AI menu because at this point it's just false advertising for the photos to look so perfect and the product so underwhelming.

The restaurant is located inside the Mauna Kea Resort and just above the beautiful Mauna Kea Beach. They have a nearby location where you can see Manta Rays at night. The service is always very good at this restaurant and the food is amazing. During my last trip I got many fish dishes in Hawaii and they didn't exactly impress me so this trip I am going for other proteins. I got the bone in New York Strip and my wife got the dried aged pork chop. Our server recommended the pork chop to be cook medium and I already knew it'll be pretty good. My ribeye was very good. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare and it comes with a side of purple sweet mashed potato. However, my wife's pork chop was the most impressive dish. It was tender, sweet, and savory. I had some of her pork chop and I wish I ordered one too. I stripped that pork chop bone clean. The dessert was pretty good but I do wish there were other options. We ordered the Soufflé and the Chocolate Mille-Feuille. The Soufflé was very good but the Chocolate Mille-Feuille was just ok. Our server did recommended us to get the Bombe Alaska but I already tried it during my last trip. After dinner we all went to the cliff to watch the Manta Rays. The kids especially enjoyed this activity. I am not sure when I'll return to the Big Island but if I do, I'll probably be visiting Manta again.

My family and I dined at Manta to celebrate my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary, and…read moreunfortunately, the experience fell incredibly short of the standards expected for a restaurant of this caliber and price point. We planned this evening well in advance, making reservations over a month ago and explicitly noting the milestone celebration. My husband even called ahead of time to confirm, and the staff assured us they would do something special for them. The letdown began right at arrival. The hostess was passive and asked our table, "Who is celebrating their anniversary?" Given that our party consisted of two couples under 40 and my in-laws, it felt incredibly unobservant and careless for a luxury resort host team. Later in the meal, my husband quietly asked our server if anything special was planned for the occasion, only to be told, "No, we don't do that." Beyond a casual, passing verbal acknowledgment, absolutely nothing was done. The only true highlight of the evening was the beautiful view. Our server was friendly, though a bit awkward, but the kitchen and bar execution were highly disappointing: * **The Drinks:** Highly overpriced for the size, lacking in flavor, and tasted noticeably watered down. * **The Pacing:** While thankfully, we were in no rush, it took a tremendous amount of time to receive our appetizers and salads, though the entrees did arrive quickly after. * **The Food:** Every dish was exceptionally expensive, yet the portion sizes were minuscule and entirely flavorless. The Caesar salad, in particular, had a very strange, off-putting flavor profile. * **Dessert:** We ordered the $17 cheesecake, which was absolutely tiny. For a premium dining experience on the coast at a luxury resort, you expect a balance of ambiance, culinary excellence, and attentive service. While Manta has the ambiance down, the food and hospitality were entirely lacking. We left the restaurant hungry, deeply disappointed, and feeling that our family's major milestone deserved a much higher level of care than what we received.
