I have been a longtime customer of Bagel City Grille but for some time now I have been extremely disappointed. Bagels don't taste as good as they used to and have shrunken in size to almost half of what they used to be. Ordering a Taylor Ham, egg and cheese is a joke! One egg, one slice of cheese and two measly slices of Taylor Ham that are almost as thick as a slice of paper! And yet they keep raising the prices but are skimping on the quality and product. I found a much better bagel place that charges the same and the quality and quantity is much better! Sadly, I will not be returning to Bagel City Grille anymore. read more

As you might be able to tell from that opener I've found my new home for Bagels. And I'm always on the hunt for great places and this place definitely qualifies as one of those with their firm but fluffy style Bagels and more fixings and add- ons then just about anyplace around.   Plusses include a good sized interior seating area for those of you inclined to wanna stick around but for me it's always an in and out type deal and that is definitely not an issue here. And this is worth mentioning too, I like to make my own Coffee and here they let you do that right after they pour it I get to concoct my perfect cup of joe without 12 scoops of sugar in it like some other places that'll remain nameless. Beware, if you pay with credit or debit card here, they are charging you 10% more without telling you. My $6.99 bagel sandwich (that's what the menu board showed for bacon/egg/cheese) ended up costing $8.70. I get it, a lot of places are charging fees for credit card now, but doing it without telling me is shady and just an insult to your customers. As for food, bagels are usually pretty good, but it's hit or miss. Seemed to be more consistent when the friendly older guy was there running things. read more

Really enjoyed Bagel City this morning for brunch. Intended to just go in to get iced coffee (which was great because the ice cubes were coffee) but ended up getting a bagel with cream cheese (not in the picture). They had a variety of coffees to choose from as well as bagels, spreads, and sandwiches that are perfect for any time of day. There was plenty of seating, the staff was very friendly, and the whole place was clean. Every time I go by there's a constant flow of people going in and out so it must be a very popular place. I just ordered a sandwich (the Orlando) and a bag of chips & soda. It came to $17.72.. There was nothing special about the sandwich. Just a little turkey and roast beef. No lettuce or tomato. I guess I was supposed to order that separately. I didn't ask for a receipt but after reading someone else's review I see they charge 10% for using a credit card. These bagels are delicious! They are perfectly warm and fluffy and don't even need to be toasted to be enjoyed. I've been in on a few weekends, and it's always very calm and organized. If there is a line it moves very fast, and the space is large so it doesn't feel overcrowded. It's also a very clean, modern and well-maintained space. I normally always stick to plain, but I appreciate the large selection of bagel flavors and cream cheese flavors. In addition to bagel sandwiches you can also find a huge lunch menu with a different deli sandwiches. My husband is a huge fan of sun dried tomato cream cheese and says that theirs is one of the best he has tried. They also have yoohoo in the glass bottle, which you can't find at every bagel shop. When this is available to me, I must have it. I haven't tried coffee or a grilled bagel sandwich - next time I stop in I definitely will! I don't know if this place is considered underrated but if it is then rightfully so! I go out of my way for this spot. They cook there eggs to perfection (yolk is a little wet but not runny. Seems simple but hard to do) and they always add a good amount of bacon! Bagels are the perfect blend of doughy but thin. Great spot! read more

So, I'm a bagel snob...ask my wife, ask my co-workers, ask my friends. I can admit this because I grew up here in Jersey where we have the best bagels in the country (yeah, New Yorkers claim the same thing, but they also think they have better pizza- LOL). When a new bagel place moves into the area I feel obligated to give them a try...so here goes... Bagel City Grille is now the 4th bagel place at this location and I have NO IDEA why the others have failed, but I hope these guys find success. Located next to a 24 hour Anytime Fitness place, it should be an easy connection for post-morning workout folks. Anyway, I went late on a Saturday, usually a bad idea, and was greeted with a smile and a loud 'Good Afternoon'. I ordered a standard bagel 'check' for me- everything bagel toasted with butter and a small coffee. Bagels are a little small, but not tiny and the everything was well covered with the goods. The bagel wasn't burned and they didn't skimp on the butter...nice crunch on the outside and a great consistency on the inside-overall a pretty tasty bagel. The coffee was just ok, probably sitting around for a while, but it WAS 3:30. I'll stick with 4 stars here, but will come back to try my other bagel check...a TEC-Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese. If you aren't from Jersey you probably don't understand the importance of a bagel place having to make a great TEC... I'll be back... OK, I went back this morning... I ordered a Taylor ham double egg and cheese on an everything bagel and tried their coffee again. Coffee is perfectly acceptable, the bagel sandwich was outstanding, and the guys working the counter were as friendly as they were yesterday. I really hope this place makes it - it's clean, they're friendly, and the bagels are pretty damn good. This WAS my favorite bagel spot in our area. I would defend this place over MLB etc. but what I got today was terrible. We walked in and we're told there was no taylor ham egg and cheese on a Sunday. Doesn't make sense. Got a bagel with cream cheese and it was hard and deformed. The cream cheese was a weird consistency. Not sure how this place fell off so quick. Amazing place Amazing owner and staff. Amazing food ...... The customer service here is above and beyond any bagel shop I've been too. The owner takes pride in this place and it shows. From the quality ingredients they use like boars head bacon to the fact that their ice cubes used in the ice coffee are actually made out of coffee(as to not water it down). I first came here a short while after they opened and I noticed the difference instantly. As they have grown they keep updating the way they serve you to make your experience as pleasant as possible. I have seen them get busier and busier and I couldn't be happier to see a family owned business that is run with pride grow and succeed. We need more small business owners like these people. Can't say enough. Very happy I stumbled upon them. I only wish I lived closer so it could be my daily routine but i try to make it out as often as possible on the weekend because the drive is worth every cent for the great service you get. read more

Really good breakfast/lunch spot. We were driving up to the mountains and needed somewhere for a an egg/bagel sandwich and a healthy sandwich. This covers all your options! Huge menu with everything from egg sandwiches to deli meats to smoothies. My boyfriend had a taylor ham, egg & cheese bagel and I had the Turkey Avocado wrap (you can choose from wheat or white wrap). The lady brought them both to our table and made sure they looked good/like what we wanted before leaving. Plenty of drink selection to choose from and a fridge with all the different milk options by the expansive coffee bar. My turkey wrap was full or turkey & avocado in every bite and the egg sandwich was full to both sides as well. I definitely recommend. Still a little hungry from a long run we split an everything bagel with cream cheese that was also full NJ style with cream cheese and perfectly toasted. Bonus- the whole time we were there people were sweeping, moping and wiping down counters. There is nothing nicer than seeing staff who ensure a very clean restaurant. Ok, second time at Bagel City Grille and I'm still in love with this place. Things I learned since my last visit... 1) Maple walnut cream cheese on a French toast bagel is the best combo on earth. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll love it. The maple walnut cream cheese is very light and almost tastes whipped. 2) The bacon scallion cream cheese is just as good as I last remembered it. I normally do not eat bacon but this cream cheese is just too good to resist. 3) Service, pricing, and cleanliness were all still exceptional. My only new suggestion would be having recycling bins in addition to the trash cans. Bagel City Grille sells a lot of bottled beverages so it would be nice to be able to recycle them. 10/10, would recommend. read more

I placed an order at Bagel City over the phone yesterday and when I arrived to pick it up I was met with this comically obnoxious sight. At first, the ostentatiousness of it all -- that's a green Lamborghini Huracan (the "cheap" one, mid $200s), taking up two parking spaces, one of which is for the handicapped -- made me think that this was some kind of Youtube social experiment and that I was being filmed to see if I would do anything. But after looking around I saw no cameras or anything to substantiate that assumption. So I went in, got my bagels, and paid. I then demanded to know whose ridiculous attention-mobile was parked so egregiously. Turns out it's some fellow standing behind the counter. I'm not sure if he's the owner of the shop, but when I took him to task for this moral outrage, the manager began to defend him and offer various excuses (among other excuses from the manager / responses from me: "there are no handicapped people here" / "no kidding, where would they park?") as it was apparent that the vehicle's owner lacked the intestinal fortitude to stand up for himself. Just pitiful, all around. If you're a prospective bagel consumer, find a bagel shop that doesn't endorse this sort of depravity; they screw up the orders half the time anyway. If you're the manager, stop making excuses for others' bad behavior, implement online ordering, and stop your non-English speaking employees from attempting to take orders over the phone. And if you're the owner of this green embarrassment, next time get a black Aventador and park it between the freaking lines -- the white ones, not the blue ones. read more
