I found Ike on Yelp and I am so glad I did. I have a Wusthof chef's knife that I would take to a well known retailer to get sharpened but it was never great. I did some research on how to care for them properly and read that I should find a local professional to sharpen my knives. So searching I went. I had recently purchased Shun premier knives and one came with a tiny nick. I messaged him and his response was extremely quick. We scheduled an appointment and I took my knives. Ask anyone who knows me; they know that I love food. I also enjoy cooking food so I have a lot of kitchen essentials. Among my prized kitchen possessions are Shun knives. I bought them a while back for what I thought to be an extravagant amount of money but I figured that if I wanted something sharp that would last a lifetime, then I had to invest in quality. Since my purchase, I had yet to sharpen the knives because they were sharp, well at least to me. But over the years of having thoughtless roommates, I realized my knives weren't as sharp as they should be. So I looked into sharpening services. You see, Shun knives have a lovely warranty and you can have your knives sharpened for free but you have to send them away to Shun to have this done. I don't know about you but I don't want to be separated from my knives for that length of time. So I found Ike. I asked around and checked to see what people were charging. Ike was by far the most reasonable and I even got my knives back the same day. We had some scheduling conflicts but I made it to his knife shop and my knives were sharpened while I waited. Normally, you would just drop your knives off and arrange for a pickup time later. We chatted while he worked and I gave him a recommendation for Terra Mia pizza.
