I had a friend that was invited to a tasting party probably about two years before this spot opened. A group of us attended together. The wings that we tried were awesome. Have been waiting for the brick and mortar ever since and have been following them on their journey. Finally dropped by to try since I do not live in town and had some time available today. We placed our order with "B" at the counter. She was very friendly and informative. It was nice that they had benches for folks to sit, since this is a carry out only establishment. I definitely prefer dine-in establishments, but understand that it is not always feasible for a business. We waited patiently, for about 20-25 minutes as the wings are made to order. I know when I sat down the bench moved and also happened to someone else that sat down...as you're kinda like whoa! I am not sure it it would help for them to be moved a little away from the wall, or secured. Since everything is to go and we live out of the area, we opted to eat in the car as not to compromise the crispy wings. Wings were fresh and hot...and huge. I started out with a boneless wing, which was gigantic. They were quite saucy and very messy, but good. A little fatty. On to the bone in...while I did realize that these were bigger than most wings--I had a hard time eating it. The crunch was not really there and I felt like my first bite was all coating and not a balanced bite of both coating and chicken. Not a good coating to chicken ratio. For this reason, I would say I actually liked the boneless better. We had the buffalo and the sweet heat. The buffalo being the better of the two. The waddles were good, wish there was more. I think a better touch would be some house-made ranch. The packaged ranch just is never as good. I cannot say that I enjoyed the biscuit. The few minutes that it was in the box, it managed to get soggy and was unappealing and flavorless. Had a texture similar to a KFC biscuit--a bit more doughy--but needed some butter for sure. All in all, I was a little disappointed. I couldn't eat more than two of the wings because I just wasn't enjoying them as much as the ones I had at the tasting. I love the owner of this place and am excited for her and the Ikonic Wings family. Hoping to see them make more additions and improvements. Might be back in for some boneless. read more

Our power went out the other afternoon so we decided to go find something new for dinner. My hubby LOVES wings, but we are never truly satisfied with what we've previously ordered and I refuse to go to BWW. Enter Ikonic Wings. Seriously THE BEST WINGS I have ever had! Large wings, crunchy batter and absolutely coated in sauce. Speaking of sauce... The Honey Garlic was absolutely amazing, finger-licking deliciousness and the waddles were a fantastic twist on a potato wedge. Everything is made to order, so calling ahead is recommended or you can hang out for about 16 minutes. One of the best takeout places we've stumbled upon. There is a wait if you drop in but I would rather wait 15 minutes and have fresh and crispy wings, than a soggy order that's been sitting. You can call to order ahead, which I would do! Ok, so we never were able to taste the food. But they have no indoor seating. They do have a 6" bar, but it's intended to sit at while you wait for take out. Definitely not big enough to eat at. We stumbled across this place looking for some good wings. This place did not disappoint! We ordered the honey garlic and lemon pepper wings. These wings are HUGE! I had a 9 piece and the wife had a 5 piece. The 5 piece is more than enough. I believe the term my wife used for the honey garlic was "pleasantly sticky." The chicken is well covered in sauce and has a slightly above medium heat kick to it. Nothing the average fire seeker can't handle, but more than you would expect. The lemon pepper, however were a tad bit light on the seasonings for my taste, but you can definitely tell it's there. The chicken is pleasantly crunchy, the potato wedges were freshly crisp. And the biscuits soft and buttery. The inside is brightly lit and colorful. You can definitely tell it's relatively new. Seating options are limited as the goal is for to go service. So, my family and I have been back here several times since my first review. One time they weren't crispy. That was kind of a bummer, cuz you know when you're craving a good crispy wing, like had prior and that not what you get?? It's kind of disappointing. However, just because it wasn't crunchy didn't mean it didn't taste incredible!! We have had every flavor, and love them all. I can't pick a favorite yet. They're all so good. I love that they make sure all chicken is covered, and ooey gooey. They're not light on the sauce like many places. You can't be with these bad boys, they're so big. Two are a meal for me!! lol I also must mention she DID change her Blue Cheese!! It is SO GOOD!! It tastes like it's homemade, and just makes the wings now. Vs the other off brand. I was licken the container clean it was so good. One last thing I'd like to mention. While I was waiting to pick up my order I saw the cheesecake slices you sell. In the cooler for like $6. A tad over priced for the size of you ask me. When you can get a whole pie at Safeway for $10.50 or an entire SaraLee for $5.99. I might suggest if you're going to charge that much for a slice of pie. To maybe add a piece of brownie and whipped cream or something too?? We have tried fried chicken at SO many spots in Lacey (fast food as well as sit down restaurants, but not Chick-Fill-A, we don't care for their anti-LGBTQ attitude). All left us disappointed, one way or another. We aren't specially fond of wings, so it took us awhile to get around to trying this place. We ordered bone-in wings with garlic Parmesan and honey barbecue sauces. We were astounded at the plump juiciness of the chicken and the perfect crispiness of its crust. Sauces were tasty, too, and we appreciated that it was clear which were spicy. The biscuits are also fabulous: fluffy and crisp in the proper places. Next time, we will probably try some sides. Wings are HUGE, they are like drumsticks. They are ok honestly for a local place if you care about quantity than flavor to make you full, this definitely your place. This place don't offer dining in only take out. I got the lemon pepper ( dry rub ) and Buffalo. They close at 630 weekday I think, and they make sure they close by then. So if you trying to get in at 620 trying to get food , good luck lol. They close the door at 615 so they make sure last order taken so they can close on time or close to it very much. This is a veteran owed husband/wife team and their pride in their business and products is clearly evident. The store is very clear and well appointed making it feel very welcoming. The wings are delicious! I've enjoyed them twice now, secondhand and firsthand. The portions and wings are very generous. I visited for their boneless wings Mondays this week. The service was slow. I think it was just one lady there. She's tries to be friendly by asking your name for the order and then a "nice to meet you." Upon walking in I was shoved in the face with cleaning odors. Like chemicals or something. It was not a familiar smell. My dad did an order a few weeks ago and said the same thing, so it's not a one time thing. It's a little off-putting. There is little seating as you are waiting for your wings. Enough for two parties only. There was also some sort of cell phone alarm going off behind the counter. I just had to write a review for my order last night. I called asking if they can do a platter of 50 to pick up in less than 2 hours. (I really suggest you call in a large order at least 24-72 hrs in advance) and they confirmed they could. Man when I picked up these wings they were HUGE like back at home NYC wings. I'm always a bone-out gal, but I fell in love with bone-in again. Owner even threw in 2 sides on the house. Wow. I would say I'm speechless but then this would be a very short review. The wings are twice the size of ones you'll find anywhere else. The skin is crispy and crunchy, even with sauce on it. The sauce flavors are all amazing. There's something for everyone too, my 4 year old loved them as well. We got some biscuits with our meal too, that I otherwise wouldn't have ordered, but they were tasty and a nice contrast to the wings. WOW..... so delicious! Picked up an order of Buffalo wings and they did not disappoint! The wings are huge! I was a little scared the breading was going to be too thick but it was not, it was perfect. The buffalo sauce was so good, just the right amount of spice for the whole family to enjoy. I wanted to love this place but it fell flat. We got 12 wings: 6 or flamin' orange (good flavor) and 6 badass buffalo (very little spice or true buffalo flavor), waddlers, mac n cheese and bbq beans. The beans were really good, the Mac n cheese had a good flavor but was very dry. The wings are GiGANTIC, which some may like but we weren't fans of. They are also breaded like fried chicken which sounds good in theory but since they are covered in sauce the breading is massively soggy. I guess, get your sauce on the side? Their ranch sucks!
