Pulled pork sandwich with cornbread instead of a bun. Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese.

First time trying. This place will be in my regular rotation going forward. I had the pulled pork sandwich, (opted for the cornbread instead of a bun), my sides were coleslaw and mac & cheese... AMAZING. We came in for trivia on Thursday night with bartender/trivia master Rob. Rob was the BEST host! SO much fun, 9 teams playing. The whiskey list is awesome, great for any whisky enthusiasts! It's cozy and nice in the bar, plenty of room on the restaurant side for the families and a great outdoor section. Do your self a favor and stop in!

I ordered a two meat combo ribs and sausage. With some sides Honestly just initial reaction looking at the plate seems not enough meat in my opinion. 2 small pieces of rib and 1 link cut up. Corn bread, baked beans and mac n cheese. Went for the ribs, they were really tough/dry... like beef jerky for a couple of bites. Same with the mac and cheese, hard and dry taste. I think the sausage was good, prefer a lil more smoke taste but no complaints for the sausage. Baked beans were my favorite part of this plate good stuff there. And I don't like cornbread usually but the I thought the cornbread was good, flakey and a little moist inside. Is it worth it tho? I don't think so with the quality of the ribs I'm disappointed, I could live with only 2 ribs if they were thick and juicy. But not beef jerky.

Food is excellent! However, let's reel things in a bit with the pricepoint, here, shall we? The two meat, two side combo at the bottom of the menu that includes a 1/3 rib rack with brisket portions are pathetic at best. Two scantily and I mean "scantily" meated ribs; A 'maybe' 4oz portion of brisket; One 6oz cup of mac & cheese; One 6oz cup of potato salad; One 3oz cornbread. The menu that I have included must clearly be pre-Covid pricing at $18.50. Today my total for the same lunch was $30 plus change. If money is no object and you want flavor this is your place. I can't justify it but maybe you can.

I will return, to try other items on their menu. Delicious food, really good service, all around it was a really nice lunch. Seems to have a pretty chill environment. I would recommend checking them out.

We stumbled into this place while looking for a coffee shop on Friday. Olympia closed early .... So we desired to have a drink here when our friend decided he was hungry (we just had a big meal a couple of hours before ) and ordered ribs. Wow, tender, juicy, and great smoked flavor. My friend was very happy - his new favorite place and will be coming back often from Tacoma.

1/2 rack of ribs, baked beans, mac n' cheese, & cornbread. So delicious!

Oh, my goodness! I am no BBQ expert and can't claim to know the intricacies of the perfect rub, but I've eaten a lot of ribs from many places and I can confidently say Southbay Dickerson's is at the top of my list! We stopped there a few nights ago when both my wife and I had a big hankering for ribs. We both ordered the 1/2 rack with a variety of sides (baked beans, cole slaw, mac & cheese, cornbread, and peach cobbler). Everything was delicious! The ribs were huge, with tender mouth-watering meat along all sides of the bone. The rub itself was so good, that some ribs we devoured without even pouring on their bbq sauce! Speaking of sauce, it was great too. Wonderful combination of sweet, spicy, with a wee bit of zing! Each rib seemed to have a perfect mix of crunchy edges and fall-apart meat. Each the sides were tasty too. The beans reminded us of the taste of a great chili! Yum! The sweet cobbler was a nice addition to the mix and gave of a different taste than the tang and spice of the rest. The mac and cheese was okay, but not something I would probably get again. We had great service, very friendly and accommodating. A wonderful atmosphere with the large doors open to get the cool breeze. All in all, we LOVED Southbay Dickerson's and will most certainly be back for more, more, more!!

Decent barbecue but not outstanding. An easy go to lunch spot when working. Usually plenty of seating and good service.

Next best was the bread - it was perfectly soft inside with a crispy crust. Between how oily the dish was and my nose running from the increased spice as I continued eating, I wouldn't return for this dish. The eggs weren't noticeable in appearance or taste- I had to search for them. The "creamy grits" were creamy, but the black pepper taste was STRONG. Definitely ordered the side for the "creamy" factor, hoping when the server said harissa in the eggs would have a mild spice, that the grits would calm my mouth. The amount of pepper made this unsuccessful. But if you like black pepper a lot then you'll enjoy them. My son enjoyed the beignet's. The server was also the host and he was kind. It was easy to get his attention when needed. I didn't see anyone with a grin on their face after taking bites of their food. I looked around quite a bit out of curiosity. So for ambiance, kind and prompt service, and the possibilities of the menu I gave it 4 stars. We only tried the few things I mentioned. I did also appreciate the bottle of water ready on every table. Note that there is no kids menu and it's mostly table seating. So maybe try on your own or with other adults, and leave the kids at home?

It grilled perfectly. I am not sure if the kimchi was vegetarian or not, I eat fish so I didn't check. My kids got the hot beef broth and liked it. There are many noodle options, including ramen, which the kids liked. They also enjoyed the brisket. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and checked on us a few times. How it works: Select your tier ($35/$45/$55). The whole table needs to be on the same tier. Pick two broths. Select five meat/seafood/tofu/noodle options to start. Go to the self serve area and get your veggies. Go to the self serve sauce bar and make up your dipping sauce. Cook your food. Value: three people, with soda/tea was $135 and I tipped $15. We got the first tier only. Hot food like egg rolls and pot stickers are extra and we didn't get any. Soft serve ice cream and cookies are included at no extra charge. I appreciate the pricing model but I found it expensive. This is more than we spend on sushi.

I know a lot of…read morethe reviews reference that its $48 a person, which I agree is kinda steep since you have to pay for drinks like a can of soda separately for an extra $3. And if you want something a little fancier, they do have mocktails at $8. I spent $185 including tip and taxes for 3 people. The set up is nice as you can grill and have soup on the next grill. They do have a few booths and then some tables. But if youre a larger party, you might get split up if they're busy. I'd recommend reservations if you have a large party. But getting to the food. For the Hotspot portion, you can pick 2 broths and its set up in a yingyang formatted pot. Then you go to the "buffet line" to get your veggies, meats and etc. They do have some hot foods like chicken wings and some type of fried roll. Hotspot was just okay. I was hoping for more flavor. The kbbq was just okay too. But one thing to keep in mind, this spot does not have the exhaust pipes/hood like they do at kbbq to help with the air, so prepare to smell. Leave your fancy/dry cleaning clothes at home. When my friends and I went, it got pretty hot inside, and there was only a box fan. So being next to a grill and no A/C made it more hot and uncomfortable. Maybe its changed now hopefully. The staff was nice and service was decent. Oh, and they do have an ice cream machine, so that's what made this spot like a 3.5 out of 5.
