Doing our best to support local restaurants during the Corona Virus shut down by ordering take out from Il Bacetto last Saturday night. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be a smooth night when after placing my order, only then did Angela tell me that their credit card machine was broken and it had to be cash only! Then, it took over two hours for our order to be ready - after being told the wait would be 40 minutes. We live nearby so I went to pick up after an hour. Angela was very nice and apologized that they were backed up and that it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. I went back home and came back 30 minutes later - still nothing. I told Angela that I would wait and she replied that it would only be another 10 minutes. It was obvious that she did not start my order until I waited for it. 30 minutes later, she came out with the food. I was their last order of the night. We ordered one of their Take Out Dinner Specials - their signature Veal Bacetto, veal with spinach, prosciutto, mozzarella in a mushroom brandy sauce. Sounds pretty good!!!!! This was terrible - there was no prosciutto. The sauce was definitely not mushroom brandy, more like boiled water thrown on top of the veal with some spinach, cheese and mushrooms. Totally tasteless. I get that these are trying times - and restaurants are struggling, but the ridiculous wait and terrible entree are no excuse. Pass this place by. It's not worth the aggravation!! read more

Had dinner for the first time this evening at Il Bacetto, in Seaford. The decor and Italian music playing in the background made me feel as though I was in a trattoria in Italy. We loved the food and appreciated the warm, friendly and flawless service we rec'd from our lovely waitress Gianetta. We enjoyed the warm homemade crispy bread, while we waited for our apps to arrive. The baked clams and fried calamari were both tender and delicious. For entrees we enjoyed our different pasta dishes, which were cooked to a perfect al dente texture. We were so full and unfortunately we passed on dessert. Sorry now, that we missed out on the much talked about Napoleon cake. Though I witnessed a busy take out business, I was very surprised there were no other diners in the restaurant. Angela, who owns the restaurant with her husband for the last 17 years stopped at our table to say hello. She is very personable and makes you feel very comfortable. She honored a coupon I found on their website and saved on my phone. She mentioned should I use a coupon next time it's better to print it, just in case she is not there. A shout out tonight to the owner, Angela and her family owned restaurant, Il Bacetto, in Seaford. We did takeout tonight with curbside pickup., which was flawless. We ordered the Stuffed Pepper with a lite pink sauce, the Stuffed Salmon Special with risotto and vegetable , the Orecchiette Broccoli Rabe with crumble hot and sweet sausage and the Ravioli with pignoli nuts and fresh plum tomatoes. The food was phenomenal. It was hot, neatly packed and even came with a complimentary roll of Toilet Paper! It doesn't get better than that! Two of my children and I went last night for a meal before our church service. Angela was so incredibly kind and attentive! She gave us a stuffed pepper (that was to die for ) on the house, we had the homemade fried mozzarella, also amazing! For dinner we had the Chicken Francese! I have nothing bad to say from appetizers to dessert everything was amazing. I don't think I've ever had Fried Calamari as tender as I had here last night it practically melted in your mouth. We went here on a Tuesday evening at 715. Place was empty...remained empty. The waitress was great...very attentive but not overbearing. Food was just ok...nothing special. Last night we enjoyed a family Christmas/New Years dinner- we were 10 people. A week or so ago, Angela and I sat down to make a plan for the meal...she is friendly and more than accomodating- listening to what I wished for, and then last night she and her very able kitchen staff and our waiter Anthony provided a delicious and memorable evening for us. Fresh bread from the oven, family style appetizers, their delicious "warm salad," and the sounds of "mmmm" from my cousins told me that our entrees made everyone happy. Then dessert came! We had a tasting of every one of the desserts on the menu, but the Napolean- a signature dish of Angela's, with chantilly cream, strawberries and bananas was from heaven! I had my sister's 50th surprise birthday party here the end of April. I started planning it back in January because I didn't want to get crunched with communion parties and such. From the very beginning Angela (the owner) was great to work with. Always available to answer any questions and go over any details at a moment's notice. She really took a personal interest in my party, and that made me feel comfortable that everything was going to go as planned. And it did! From allowing me access to decorate and set up (and helping me do so!), to the table set up, to the deliciousness of the food, which all my guests raved about, to the super attentive staff...everything went off without a hitch. She knows her business very very well, and made some very helpful suggestions to me on things I didn't even think of. And her homemade Napoleon cake (which was included as part of the very affordable package) was to die for. I've eaten here before as a customer of the restaurant, but the true colors of a place shine through in how they handle a party...and they did great! No assembly-line treatment, and no rushing through courses....everything was just perfect. Thank you Angela, Sarah and the rest of the staff. You guys are aces. Angela and Mario run a home style business with exceptional food. We celebrated with another couple our 25th wedding anniversary. We reserved the table in the corner and entered at 6:30 and left at 10;00. No drama,no pushing you out the door. There new pizza menu was an appetizer and clams casino. Ask and you shall receive. Always making special dishes not on menu that night any special way you want. Mario is a master at pleasing customers. When appetizers arrived, the pizza had spicey cherry peppers with potato and pork slices and more. Wonderful but a bit spicey, keep the drinks handy. Totally different and exceptionally good with the clams. The waiter asked to notify him when we were ready for our entrees. I don't think I have ever been asked this before. Usually your entrees appear next to your appetizers. Time to digest for the main courses. My wife and I both love their Eggplant dishes. Friends had chicken and shrimp dishes with glowing reviews for all. The atmosphere and the low piped in music allow you to talk across the table. The desserts were freshly made , loving the strawberry cheesecake, the fruit napoleon and the apple torte. It was a peaceful evening in a homedown atmosphere with excellent cooking by Mario on a Saturday night. We won't forget our 25th. Thanks to Mario, Angela and the staff. read more

Today was the second time we went here with a coupon. They put coupons in and then dont want to honor them. The first time we went the owner told us she wasnt making any money on our meal with a coupon and then asked us to pay cash after at first telling us they werent offering that coupon . When we showed them the expiration date wasnt up yet she honored it. Today we went with a coupon expiration 3/31. When we called the coupon was for buy 1 any size pizza get 1 regular cheese free we were told that was for the winter only. I told her the expiration date and she told me she could give the 2nd 1 at half price . I told her that thats is not what the coupon says so then she told me ok I asked her what the cost of the pizza was for the one pie she told me $15 when I got down there she told me the pizza both of them was only personal pan pizza size so I told her to forget it will not go back to this place very deceptive people . read more
