Located in Desert Ridge Marketplace, I checked out The Whining Pig on a Saturday night. Since I…read morelive in the area, I walked over. There is ample parking if you're driving. This beer-focused bar isn't the easiest to find because it's underground down a stairwell. Look for the signage close to the stairwell. Ambiance (3.5/5): We sat at a booth at the bar. It's one of the few seats that have back support (which is important to me due to my old man back). Outside of that, it's all barstool seating with no back support inside. Outside, they have a small patio with chairs. That would be another option for me when the weather cooperates. The decor inside is your typical beer bar decor. Laid back. Comfortable. There's a jukebox. A cool place to grab some brews. Service (3.5/5): Two bartenders were working that evening and they were pretty solid. I did have to grab their attention a few times but no biggie. The Whining Pig has daily specials including a beer and grilled cheese combo on Wednesdays. I was curious on the price. They didn't know nor did they find out. That was a miss. Food (N/A): No food for me on this visit as I had dinner prior. They have a small menu, mostly made up of various grilled cheese sandwiches. They have a classic one, a pizza one, and a few others. I'm a dan of grilled cheese so I'll definitely try one out at some point. They also have charcuterie boards. Drinks (4.5/5): Now for the good stuff! Unlike most beer spots, they also have wine and several cocktails. But when in Rome, so I went with a beer flight. You can choose five beers of your choosing from a list of 40 beers or so. While they don't brew their own beer, they have an interesting selection of local craft beers and European ones. The types of beers you're not going to find at your neighborhood bar, including saisons and sours. The flight is served in a pig shape holder which was pretty funny. Flights are always my go-to when they're offered as they allow you to try out a nice variety. Added bonus: Walk down the hallway past the bathrooms and you'll run into Pigtails---a speakeasy owned by the same folks. That way, you can get both your brews and elevated cocktails fix in the same night.

Look for the bronze sign, look over the hedges, look for the stairs leading downstairs into the outdoor bar patio area, follow the walking map on Yelp! Once you locate it though you find yourself inside this cool bar with tons of beer, ipa, cider & wine options on a chalkboard wall in color coordination to make it easy to choose. If you still can't decide the friendly bar staff will help you out, there are a lot of options. They do have some things on happy hour. Food wise they have a charcuterie board, grilled cheese sandwiches& potato chips. Menu items from Pigtails are also available at the bar. There is a big bar top area and other indoor table seating, patio is shady during the day. I'd recommend this spot if you're out shopping and need a break or if you just want a cool bar to hang out at. If you like ciders the Black Widow -Original Sin cider is very delicious.

Just for signing up, I got enough bonus points for $5 off, plus $5 off for my birthday, so $10 total. I was in the area picking up another meal and decided to maximize my outing by ordering from here as well. It was easy using the app and ordering my food. I chose the 4 tender and tots meal ($10.99) and chose their homestyle tenders and for the two dry rubs, I chose Jalapeno Garlic Ranch and Chili Lime with the Mango Habanero (Spicy Sweet Mango) sauce. The sauces sounded really good and it was tough choosing one. ASAP orders are ready in 15 minutes but I chose a pickup time of 30 min. This restaurant is located on the north side of FLW, east of the 101 with a few other businesses and food spots. There was plenty of parking and they even have curbside pickup, which is cool. There were two doors to enter from and a few people dining in. Lots of seating. Pickup was quick and easy and I was on my way. The tots were yummy, I got the regular ones but am intrigued by their maple ones. The chicken tenders were full of flavor, especially with the sauce. I love that they are oven grilled as opposed to fried, and they were tasty. The instructions on the box say to pour the sauce inside and shake it up, but I decided to just dip the chicken in the sauce. I may have to try that method next time. Overall, this was a great choice for lunch and I'm glad I got to try it!

Plus I love fried chicken that's not greasy so this version of air fried is just so great! Crispy but not dry, a work of magic. Good things come to those who wait so have patience if you didn't order ahead. It's quick service not fast food so be nice to the team. Bring yours kids and replace their choice with sneaky bird, they'll love it!

Wren House Brewing Company is easily one of the more thoughtfully done brewery spaces around…read more Beer Their beer speaks for itself, but for anyone new, this is home to one of my favorite hazy IPAs, Spellbinder. Consistently solid and exactly what you want from the style. Service Laid-back and smooth. Everything feels dialed in without being overly formal, which fits the vibe perfectly. Ambience This is where they really separate themselves. Instead of the typical dim, sticker-covered, industrial brewery feel, this place is bright, clean, and curated. It honestly feels closer to a well-designed coffee shop, but built around great beer. Not a huge space, but comfortable enough to grab a pint and hang out without feeling cramped. Extras Huge bonus, they'll order Trevor's Liquor pizza for you and have it brought over. That alone makes it an easy stop. Overall I'm really glad this spot opened up nearby. It's perfect as a starting point for a night out. Grab a beer here, then head to dinner at one of the nearby spots. If you're into craft beer but want a cleaner, more elevated environment, this is a must-visit.

It's the kind of place where you can take your time and actually enjoy the experience. Parking was easy, which is always a plus, and the indoor-outdoor patio space is a standout feature. It's comfortable, open, and pet friendly, making it a great spot to hang out with friends (two- or four-legged). My only minor disappointment was the limited selection of stout beers on tap during my visit. If you're a stout lover, you may not find as many options as you'd hope for. That said, the overall atmosphere, service, and setup make it a brewery I'd definitely come back to.
