I have never wanted to write a review as badly as I do now, especially because it's clear that someone needs to better train their managers if they want to keep both employees and guests thriving. I was really disappointed with my experience at Cold Beers. The service felt disorganized, and the overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, the manager John came across as rude and dismissive not only toward customers, but also toward staff members. Watching employees get spoken to harshly made the whole visit unpleasant. The one positive part of the experience was our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and did her best despite the environment around her, it didn't feel like management cared whether customers were having a good experience. I usually try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but this visit left me not wanting to come back. I was at this restaurant with my family and we had the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We waited till the end of this horrific event and I had ask for the manger to come to our table. When he finally did, (Mike) he was unapologetic for the events that transpired. I told him that I blame him personally for the experience that my family had. He looked at me with an aggressive and defensive expression and said what did you say. I repeated my statement then I expounded by saying that as the manager everything that happens in your restaurant is a reflection of you. Therefore I blame you for my food coming out twice wrong and then having to order something I didn't want that came out after the rest of my family had finished their meals. That was also wrong! His response was smug. He said that he was busy fixing the rest of the restaurant. And then stormed off for the kitchen. As he was walking away, I said simply Do Better. He spun around yelling at me saying what did I say. I repeated my statement. Do Better. His response was Don't come back here again. I asked to speak to his boss and he said just don't come back. Their Asian chicken salad & PB&J sliders are my favorite. Not a fan of BYOM. The Asian chicken salad has shaved chicken & a yummy light Thai peanut dressing. The PBJ sliders come with grape jelly, peanut butter, cheese (opted out) and a spicy jam sauce. The establishment is always loud with sports on every tv. The atmosphere is always lively. My family recently came here for lunch and enjoyed our dining experience. The service was fast and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. My brother ordered the Mmmac N Cheeseburger with tatter tots. He finished his hamburger within minutes and we were all surprised. He said it was super yummy and he absolutely loved the mac & cheese sauce on the burger. I ordered the 1000 island burger and I was a little disappointed. I ordered the same burger at zips and it is overflowing with sauce, but this one was a little dry. After seeing the mac & cheese cheeseburger, I thought this one would have a lot more to it. Overall, the burger was super good and I enjoyed the onion rings that it came with. My brother also enjoyed his tater tots. Welp somehow ended up back here after vowing never to come back. So we were greeted fairly quickly and we got our drinks fairly quickly. Now it took FOREVER, for her to come back to take our food order. In fact it took so long that a random waitress came over and asked if we needed anything. We order the PBJ sliders and the Buffalo tots as the "side" That side was HUGE! And those tots were so good I couldn't not stop eating them. My hubs asked for a TO Go box and there was nothing to go. The sliders were really really good but we hated that they were so well done. It's my complaint every time!!!! What reels us in? COLD BEERS AND A BURGER. The burgers are never ever not once pink in the middle. They cook the s**t out of that meat. Always black on the outside and just horribly cooked. If they could just get that burger right they would be PERFECTO. I'd go back for the buffalo tots. And apparently I lie when I say I won't be back. I was in Scottsdale for medical reasons. I found myself curious of the local places near the hotel I was staying at. My mom found this place when she was searching online and so we gave it try. The staff was friendly but our waitress was a little all over the place. We had asked for Nachos just regular nachos they brought us out nachos with chicken. I love chicken but my mom is very picky about it since we had asked for regular nachos without any. The burger was excellent. Very well seasoned and overall a delicious juicy flavor. We were curious about the Nashville chicken sandwich. OMG that has to be my favorite. The chicken was perfectly juicy and crispy. The chicken patty was thick which I was glad to see. They definitely didn't skimp out! The tater tots were so so. I honestly wasn't a big fan. They were edible but nothing to write home about. It goes without saying the next time I'm in the phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale area I'll definitely be returning to get me one of them Nashville chicken sandwiches and a burger as well. The place was 98% empty and as I sit here waiting for my food for 40 minutes, there's no sign of it. One server, one bartender, I guess they feel that this is the furthest location, so they should pay no attention to it. I wouldn't even dream of coming here on a game day. You'd probably leave there trying to hang yourself. There was one young man manager, who did not make eye contact with us. He seemed a bit overly friendly with the female bartender and not at all with surrounding guests. Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers is as simple of a concept as they come. Good food, yes burgers and cold beer. It's KISS as they say. The pretzels are warm and tasty. Delicious. The shredded Buffalo Chicken dip (photo) has some kick and hits the stop. The Sirlon Sliders (photos) are really very, very good. But if you come here, you need to try their Shredded Buffalo Chicken Dip or Sandwich. It's has just the right amount of heat and is delicious. We've come here a bunch of times with friends and for their HH. The probably have more HDTVs then I have ever seen in one location. I have been going to this location since I moved here in 2015, and usually have great service. Showed up for my family's weekly outing for trivia and had the worst service I have had at ANY restaurant in years. Our waitress Hailey took our order, delivered the initial drinks, then NEVER came back. Food runner dropped off our food. The table next to us had to seek her out in the corner waitress station in order to get their order taken. I used to be a server, so I have the inability to tip poorly, but she didn't deserve a dime. I've been to a few of the locations, this one particularly a few times. The food is ok, the cost is outrageous, the layout & seating is nice/ plentiful, the servers are cordial & helpful. Today I ordered the Nashville hot Chicken sandwich with a side salad. I sat @the bar, Lauren was my bartender/ server, she is terrific & very attentive. The sandwich was an over cooked boneless chicken breast on a bun with hot sauce topping & lettuce. The salad was fresh & tasty, I had the red wine vinaigrette (suggested by Lauren) , very happy with that suggestion. I come because it's close when I'm working this area & the staff is great, but $20 for a sandwich, side salad & ice tea (tip included) is a little much. I wish they had mushrooms to add but instead I added a fried egg. We also ordered a flight of beer which was perfect for both of us.
