I have wanted to try this restaurant for many years and it had never worked out. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. I learned that you can make reservations, which was a pro tip to learn! We started out with the calamari and the Il Cigna Mozzarella which were both delicious. I would get them again. My daughter and I shared the Beef Short Rib pasta and let me tell you, it was absolutely scrumptious. Every bite was memorable. I can't wait to go back.

Awesome chicken Marsala! We also really enjoyed the lasagna egg rolls and their complimentary bread with oil to dip it in. The oil is combined with balsamic vinegar and oregano.

This was our first time & we will be back! Food was delicious! Awesome service and laid back atmosphere. Super small parking lot is my only complaint but it was worth it! Make reservations!

This is a restaurant that belongs to the Hamptons in NY. Let's be grateful that is here. Everything here is delicious. The menu is rich in options. I had a Chocolate Martini that was not in the menu. My five stars go to that single gesture that our waitress Ybrace, made it possible for me. She was extremely professional, kept coming back to see if we need it anything . The atmosphere is cozy and inviting for relaxing while enjoying a great meal. Is the best in the area by far.

Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The house made mozzarella appetizer was a perfect start, the chicken Victoria is delicious and enough to feed you for days! And the beef short ribs were so flavorful.

This place rocks my socks! It's so good, it could easily go up against some of the best Italian spots in Jersey where my husband's from, which is why we visit Il Congo very often. They make the BEST appetizer of fresh mozzarella right in the kitchen, it comes out warm and spreadable. They serve it with great bread and paired that with the best veggies, like sun-dried tomatoes and fresh garden tomatoes, and it's a game-changer... I always leave this place stuffed because I can't stop myself! The pasta dishes here literally are top tier! You can tell they really know what they're doing in the kitchen with all the flavors and umami bombs. I would also recommend the chicken parm as it's absolutely delicious and amazing portion sizes!! The waitresses who have served us have been absolutely perfect, so sweet and kind and really make you like your part of the cigno family. The vibe is wholesome and it's the perfect spot for a nice dinner date. This is an absolute must-try. I'll have to return soon and actually remember to take photos because I always gobble it down!!! Also for the weekends i'd recommend calling ahead to make a reservation as they get pretty busy and there may be a wait.

Cute interior though seating is a little tight, but worth it for the food! Every dish we had was amazing and the cocktails were good too. The service is friendly and prompt as well. Can't wait to come back.

Enjoyed dinner for a date night here a few weeks ago on a Monday night and it did not disappoint. We had reservations (which I'd highly recommend) and still waited a fair amount of time despite having a reservation and many available tables. Upon sitting, we waited a long time for our waiter. Started off with bread and ordered lasagna rolls and the eggplant meatball. Unfortunately they were out of the lasagna rolls but the meatball was the highlight of our meal. YOU HAVE TO GET THE EGGPLANT MEATBALLS! My husband ordered Marsala for dinner, gnocchi dish to try, and I ordered the seafood fra diavolo. The gnocchi was amazing. The Marsala was good but we wouldn't order again. The diavolo was great, my only complaint is I couldn't change the pasta (I wanted a house made pasta with my dinner). For desert we ordered the cheesecake and crème brûlée which both were phenomenal. I'm not a crème brûlée lover but it's the best we've ever had. We had two great bottles of wine as well. Overall, great dinner. Great view. Great food.

The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! The meatballs were fresh and soft. The spaghetti sauce was delicious not to sweet not to over seasoned. My husband says the seafood was cooked to perfection (and ate the whole plate in record time) they had live music playing what was refreshing and not overly loud. Our waitress had great suggestions as it was our first time, however the customer service just wasn't there. And the 3% credit card charge AFTER we provided our card was unexpected for sure..... not impressed by that

Phenomenal food and fabulous service. This is my new daddy-daughter date night spot when we are in Swansboro. I have had the chicken Marsala and the mussels in red sauce, and neither disappointed. My daughter always gets the chicken alfredo, which isn't normally my thing, but even that is wonderful in my book. It's worth the price.

A local guy from New Jersey recommended this place, since he knew, being from Connecticut, we'd appreciate good Italian. It definitely didn't disappoint. The homemade pappardelle was cooked al dente and the sauce had some unique flavor. My husband's Seafood Manicotti was also cooked perfectly. The bruschetta is also unique, using their homemade Mozzarella. The service Samaria provided was perfect, and we had a table at the window with a great view!

Parking: limited parking but it was in downtown swansboro so everything was close together Food: excellent food. the eggplant meatballs were so delicious and well done. the sauce they came with complimented it so well. the gnocchi was great and so flavorful but the sauce was a bit basic for how good the gnocchi was. Service: great service and our server was very kind, friendly, and prompt Ambience: it has a great italian rustic look to it with a bar in the back if you wanted drinks

Service and food was fantastic! The bolognese was wonderful! The Veal victoria was good, but did have to add salt. Wonderful wine selection as well!

We were a little anxious because of some negative reviews. We ate here several years ago and loved…read moreit. We still love it. Service was attentive, the wine list extensive, the menu seductive and the portions impressive. Chef Paolo stopped by to confirm I wanted spicy marinara, as it is, indeed, "spicy." MI had the Pescatore Alla Sorento (see pic). The platter is filled with clams the size of my fist, calamari, mussels, monster shrimp. In other words these are premium ingredients chosen, not frozen. Served over pasta in a delightful marinara full of tomato chunks and spices to titillate. Most people would prefer the sweet marinara. My partner had the lobster ravioli, served in a delightful cream sauce. It was divine. It is a challenge to cook such a medley of seafood and get it all right. The large clams and shrimp need to be cooked to the right tenderness, but, by then, the small clams and mussels are rubbery. Hence 4 stars. But, despite others' experiences, we were treated very well and the food is authentic. Given the quality and care that went into each dish the prices were very reasonable. We will be back, for sure.

Easily one of the worst and weirdest dining experiences of my life. Before our entrées even…read morearrived: The waiter mixed some oil and balsamic together in a display of pageantry for the warm bread he would bring us. He then forgot our bread for half an hour, wouldn't let my wife look at the wine menu and chose a cheap prosecco for her... and put a cherry in it?... and then the antipasto appetizer we ordered was just a bunch of canned foods and warm deli meats dumped on a plate for $22. Wife ordered veal, I ordered chicken, and what do you know, we both get chicken! We send hers back to get the veal and we hear from the dining room the owner and cooks and waiter SCREAMING back and forth at each other in the back about it. My chicken, which was very dry and overcooked btw, is boxed up to take home by the time her veal arrives. And what do you know, presentation has gone out the window! They dumped all of the ingredients onto a plate and made veal soup! The vibe was the kitchen was angry we returned the dish and threw the dish into the plate. Finally, my wife can eat her veal (soup?). But oh wait, they've taken her silverware when they cleaned up our appetizer plates. Another 10 mins pass. She finally gets a knife to start eating. The waiter apologized and offers her another glass of wine and she accepts, thinking it'll be on the house considering the disaster service we've had, but it goes on the bill! The veil reminded her of "smashed fried chicken. and it was dry." Finally we say let's get outta here and ask for the check. The waiter offers dessert; just the check please. The waiter says, are you sure? We have a few really good specials you should try. Just the check please. He turns the leave, and then looks back over at my wife, "just imagine you are at home later, about to watch a movie, wouldn't some cake just hit the spot?" The bartender starts hollering about how good the dessert is, my wife says no thank you, just the check. At this point my wife just looks at me and starts laughing. I laugh too. We both laugh. I do not tip. We head home with leftover veal soup and talk about how I must write my first bad yelp review in the car ride home. Tl dr: The food sucked, the service was worse. + 1 star for good bread, half an hour late.

It was clean, loud, good loud filled with conversation and laughter. Unfortunately, my pasta was extremely overcooked. It was so soft that I couldn't even pick it up with a fork without it falling apart. The photo shown shows just how shredded the pasta was when I picked it up. The sauce itself was delicious, which made it even more disappointing because the pasta was basically mush. I brought it to their attention, and they apologized, but then told me the kitchen was closed. I believe they stop serving at 9:00 p.m., and it was only 9:03 p.m. when I mentioned the issue. Whether the kitchen was technically closed or not, fixing the dish would have only required boiling a small portion of pasta and adding some of the sauce that I assumed was already prepared. I mean it was literally 3mins past 9pm there's no way they cleaned the kitchen and packed up that quick. There were still multiple tables here. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do, though they would remove the item from the bill. While I appreciate not being charged, I don't think that was the most appropriate solution because it essentially meant I didn't get to eat a main course. My husband still had his meal, so at that point it didn't seem worth leaving or trying to find food elsewhere after already spending around $70 on dinner (the pasta not included). If it had been much later in the evening, or I wanted to add something to my bill, I would have understood, but being only a few minutes past closing made the response feel disappointing. The flavors were excellent, and up until that point the experience had been very good. I really wanted that pasta too haha. The sauce was so good. I hope they handle situations like this differently in the future.
