Came on. a Wednesday evening an hour before closing. Immediately got seated on the dock with a beautiful view and perfect breeze. Service was fast and friendly, and we ordered the lobster, crab, shrimp and mussels for 2. The smallest option was plenty for us, and I swear I ate about 72 shrimps. Everything was delicious and fresh, though I wouldn't mind a bit more intense flavor from somewhere, a la Cajun seafood boils. Would definitely recommend and will return on our next trip read more

I read the reviews but was willing to try them due to the pictures of the Broil. The whole operation this night was run by a couple teenagers with zero hospitality training. After an hour of waiting and watching uncontrolled insanity my gut told me to just leave but didn't. The table of four in front of us got up and left before even getting waters. After over an hour and half they forgot 2 of our 7 meals. We told them to cancel the kids meal as he was hungry and had been sharing off other family members in the meantime. The young man came back to the table to let us know rudely not to expect the missed entree for free. Up until this point I was really trying to provide grace and enjoy the dinner. One step over the line. Two stars was bc the broil was very good but everything else would prevent me from ever coming back! read more

On my way home from Emerald Isle, I decided a fish sandwich from Boro was exactly what I needed. I was able to easily call in my order to be picked up on my way headed back to Wilmington. The woman who answered the phone was super sweet and took my order for me. I ran in when I got there- my food was hot and ready, so it took me just a minute to pay, and then I was on my merry way. Our waiter was the best. Helpful w suggestions and attentive throughout our stay. I'm not a fish person but must admit the boils looked amazing. My philly cheesesteak was yum and I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries dusted w just right amount of powdered sugar. We are visiting from st. Louis. The older lady friendlier, and seems to actually not really like her job, but she's still here. The crab fries are pretty legit....... We order the shrimp Double lots of butter but no actual seasoning, like none. Asked the waitress for seasoning, they claim they had old bay.... The seasoning I was brought was not Old Bay not even close but some Ramon packet seasoning. I'm not sure maybe this was an off night for everything food, service, etc..... One of my friends kept talking about the giant fish sandwiches here, so we stopped by when we were in the area. The first thing we all noticed was the view! We were right on the water, but still protected from the wind. My two friends each got said fish sandwich, and they indeed looked amazing! I felt like I was in a episode of survivor and I hadn't eating in days lol so when I saw the menu my eyes were way too big for my stomach...or were they? The potato and sausage I passed to my brother in law cuz im here for the seafood and only noobs fill up on carbs am I right? 3rd I couldn't resist the flounder po boy. It was a simple toasted bun with shredded lettuce and a good portion of fried fish. The sauce or remoulade was on the side. Simple sandwich, kinda left me wanting at bare minimum mayo but I smothered 1 side of bun and ate it open face style and it was perfect. Shrimp and grits! My sister ordered it and I was obsessed with the shrimp. Lightly fried and half way dipped in the sauce for the grits! That meal is so dam good. I love this dish. This is a dish I wouldn't wanna make at home cuz it would ruin my memory of the original lol. Obviously I adore this place, service was quick and the staff were really nice. Plastic glasses, plates and cups. Now the food: buffalo shrimp outstanding, Shrimp Po Boy very good. Mussels in lemon garlic cooked perfectly and huge portion. Steam pot exactly as described: snow crab, corn, potatoes, smoked sausage, mussels and shrimp. A metal bucket delivered just before food came gave a handy discard place. We stopped in here after putting our name in at their main restaurant in the front "Boro Restaurant & Bar". The Kitchen Restaurant is in the back behind the main restaurant. They have the low county boils which are not available in the main restaurant. I recommend eating here. The prices are very reasonable. The cocktails were good. The boil was good too. Our boil was a bit over cooked. The shrimp and and lobster were a bit rubbery. The crab was cooked perfect. The corn and potatoes were fantastic. The sausage was tasty and spicy. The kids loved their food too. My daughter ordered pasta primavera. Wow! That was incredible!!!! The boys ordered sandwiches. Would give a half star or no star if it was allowed. We were visiting from out of town. Spending time with our son, who is stationed at Camp Lejeune. This restaurant was number one on our list to dine at. We were all excited to have dinner here. We walked in an hour and a half before they closed. As soon as we walked in the door, we were not greater but yelled at by a server she said, "I have a waiting list an hour long and will not be taking any more." And then walked away. No, hello, nothing. Very rude and loud. Ruined it for us. I could have understood not taking any more wait list, but it was the way she approached us. If her approach was different, we would have come back the following day. We were in town for 3 more days and business elsewhere. We found another restaurant close by that we enjoyed and dropped $250 plus a nice tip for the 4 of us. read more

If you're looking for a phenomenal way to feed the family wether on/off the boat, this is where you go. They have put a spin on the recipe you will find yourself trying to recreate, but it's better done by them. Next time your on the boat, call ahead, park at the public dock and take it out onto the ICW and will be an experience you will find yourself doing over and over. The service was definitely not good, I hope it wasn't a race thing - but the waitress kind of just threw the forks (underhanded) on the table - like when you are playing softball and some fell to the ground she apologized because some fell but why would you do that ? The low boil family pack was pretty bland , my sister asked for some Cajun spice or something to add to it to just make it a little better and the waitress made a face and was like no we don't have anything - that's how it comes. but the crab cheese fries were delicious.
