I have been wanting to try this place based on the buzz and the yelp reviews I have read. I don't know which Stood out more the food or the service. Our waitress was terrific and very attentive. We arrived at 3 PM on a Wednesday and were one of the few diners. This must be a good time to come because I understand there can be a wait for tables later on. Our waitress started us out with warm bread and a garlicky olive oil dipping sauce. For a main, I ordered the seafood and linguine with the white sauce. I also ordered a side salad. The side salad was huge and very inexpensive. The main course was full of fish. It contained shrimp, muscles, clams, calamari and actual chunks of fish. This dish was outstanding. My husband ordered the appetizer version of eggplant rollatini. It was a generous portion and he wound up taking one of the pieces home. My husband loved the sauce, which I guess is an outstanding fresh tasting sauce. Next time we go back for the pizza. read more

Be prepared for a little bit of a wait and try and not to be a jerk about it. It's a brand new restaurant in Onondaga county and let's try and welcome them with open arms. I noticed too many arrogant people demanding their people while waiting for a pickup. That being said. It's hands down the best NY Style pizza within a 35 mile radius. It's far beyond Pavones, Mario & Salvos......it's great and worth the struggle to get your hands on a pie. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, the flop.....it's all perfect. Recently opened, out first time visiting. They are still getting staffed up and use to call in and dine in orders. So, you need to be patient and give them time to settle in. We were sad that we weren't able to try their pizza since they were overloaded with orders (good sign!) so we ordered dinners and were not disappointed. Side salads with Italian dressing were good, small bread was good, ordered two meatballs. They were gigantic but very blah tasting. Meal of lasagna looked great but was so salty, like an entire box of Salt was used. Could not finish. The pasta primavera came with penne pasta , some veggies and oily tomato sauce. Huge Portion but totally flavorless. Just wet pasta. I do want to like this place but the food wasn't great and the prices are very high for a bowl of pasta . A family run restaurant with family that welcomes you upon arrival. Everyone including our servers couldn't be nicer. Unfortunately I wish I could give the food a better compliment. We started off with the fried calamari. It was a generous portion but it was not cooked properly and was very rubbery. The chicken parmigiana seemed as though it was battered instead of coated in breadcrumbs. It had a different texture and flavor than breadcrumbs. It also could have been the oil or the way they fried it but it was not what I expected. The eggplant parmigiana was a generous portion and okay but nothing special. I'm a huge pizza fan (who isn't) so I wanted to try this place out as it's only 5 minutes from home. We did take out from here on a Sunday night. There are so many places for pizza in Liverpool, so I always like to try out new places close by. The Good: The pizza was pretty decent. I'm a fan of all types so I can get down with a heavy handed sauce, or cheese. I can also appreciate just the right amount. The sauce was heavy on this pizza and it had a good taste. This pizza is something akin to Avicolli's or Francesca's so if you like those, you'll probably like Il Limone as well. We also ordered eggplant parm sub (see below). The eggplant was tasty it had a good flavor and was breaded and casseroled. I did like the sauce on both the pizza and the eggplant. I felt like there could have been a bit more sauce on the eggplant. I like my Italian food saucy. The restaurant was really cute and nicely decorated. It would be a decent date night location. The Bad: when I called I definitely ordered an eggplant parm sub, but we got a dinner instead. I didn't raise a complaint with the restaurant, so I'm not REALLY bent outta shape, because I never gave them the chance to make it right (it's probably not fair to mention it here), but it was a little mistake. Not the end of the world. I thought the pizza and the eggplant both had a bit too much cheese for our liking. I mean I still ate it no problem, just be prepared for that, if that's something you like/don't like. In summary: I would go back here again, but it's not my top choice. My daughter and I went for dinner last night and while it was t our first time there, it has been exceptional every time we've been there, or ordered takeout. I got the eggplant Parmesan, and my daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs. She judges places by their meatballs and she loved them the eggplant was delicious as well. I grew up in an Italian family and I cannot wait for my Dad to come for a visit so I can take him here. The owner even stopped by at the end of the meal. After seeing a friend's post about this place my family and I decided to try it. We had a big group of us together and decided to try the grandma style, white, plain and pepperoni pizzas. When my BIL arrived to pick up our pizzas there was a wait even though they were supposed to be done. When my BIL got back to the house our first impression was that all of the pizzas looked great and we were excited to dig in. I tried the plain and white pizzas first which I thought were pretty good. The dough was definitely the star as a pizza crust lover this pizza definitely was a treat in that department. My fiancé and I ate at Il Limone last night. We loved the fried appetizer, and the staff was somewhat pleasant but could've been nicer. However, when our dinners came out, my fiance's rigatoni had THREE long, dark hairs hidden in the food. We asked a passing waitress for new food, and she asked if we put the hairs on the food because we had picked them out. We said no, and we were not offered comped food or a free dessert. This was our second time here. They really make you feel like family. We put our name in, one of the owners took our drink order and brought it to us. My husband had Blue Moon beer and I had a glass of Sauvingon Blanc. Even though they said 45 minutes , it was more like 10 minutes until we were seated. The place was packed, the music was playing. The food smelled wonderful. We were served fairly quickly. Started with Caprese and my husband had Caesar salad. Of course, they brought hot rolls and olive oil before our salads. Many of the guests here on Friday night seemed like they knew the owners. Our dinners were wonderful too. My husband had fettuccine Alfredo and I had the spaghetti and meatballs. (Can you say gigantic meatballs?) we went home with leftovers and we ordered two pieces of lemoncello cake to take home. Totally worth every penny of the reasonable price. These people love the food they make and they love serving you. All the servers are friendly. The teamwork is evident. The young hostess and the owner hostess both cleared tables. This little hole in the wall in the Glens Crossing Mall is so much more than you would ever expect from the outside. When we left, we even ran into some old very Italian people we know from earlier in our days. They love this place too. We will be back. Next time, we're gonna try a "special" at dinner. read more

I wish I had taken pictures of the food. Everything was AMAZING! My husband and I split the meatball appetizer and the Nonni Pizza and we also got to try the fried mozzarella that our friends ordered. The mozzarella for the appetizer and the pizza is made in house and you can tell. The taste and freshness is remarkable. The servings are more than generous and well prepared for the price per plate. I had seafood linguine, and they definitely don't hold back on the number of mussels, clams, calamari rings and shrimp. I'm pretty proud of my wife's Italian cooking and we were both impressed by the red sauce on her raviolis. It's a busy place and our server was top notch. Greeted quickly with smiles. Restaurant was nearly empty with staff standing around chatting and scrolling on their phones. Our server quickly answered questions about recommendations. Nicely warmed breadsticks arrived with olive oil for dipping quite awhile after we were seated. After ordering it was an eternity before appetizers arrived. Soup special wasn't good. Salad looked very fresh. Entrees arrived after a short wait once our appetizers were gone. The bread promised with our meals arrived when we had nearly finished them. Our server disappeared for an extensive (& quite frankly inappropriate) amount of time as we waited for our check and a to go box. The entrees were flavorful but fresh mushrooms should have been used as opposed to canned and sauces were skimpy on the 2 dishes we ordered. There was a horrible glare reflecting off autos in the lot and shining directly into my eyes thru the ultra thin sheers on the windows. There was something nasty dangling at the top of one of the windows I was facing. Loud regular customers were shouted greetings across the restaurant disturbing our meal. The food, the service, it was all an experience I couldn't wait to share with others because of how positive it was - from the first phone call to place the order, to picking up the order. I ordered catering from them - based off of recommendations on here for the best lasagna. You all did not disappoint me. I am not a huge lasagna lover but it's my husband's favorite. I love. This. Lasagna. From the layers to the perfect amount of cheese and sauce - I could tell someone took pride in making it. Also, the meatballs, I am now craving - they were so good! I was greeted by one of the owners in the Pizzeria (the restaurant is 2 doors down) - C. J. He helped me with picking up the catering and ensuring I was all set - all with a smile and letting me know more about his restaurant. While I waited for the catering to be loaded into my car, C. J. offered me a slice of pizza. At C. J.'s recommendation, I tried the chicken parm pizza - not a choice I normally would make but I am so glad I listened. The pizza was delicious. You can tell the quality of the ingredients. They make their mozzarella cheese and sauce - along with their homemade dishes. Their cheese is amazing - you can tell it's not your average mozzarella cheese. I could see the pride C. J. has in his restaurant. Everyone at the party raved about the food - I couldn't wait to tell them where I got it from. Stopped by here last minute as I was booked at the super 8 across the street. I ordered the margherita pizza, avocado salad and tortellini soup. It came to $41. It was all quite good and plenty for dinner for two. They didn't have plates or utensils and probably are best for a sit down meal. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. read more

service was TERRIBLE. waiter was extremely rude and had so much attitude, we traveled almost two hours to get our daughter a prom dress and the worker at prom central told us about this place. my wife had asked a questíon about the "sAuSaGe and PoTaToE soup" and this lady SANPPED when my wife said "is it like the zupa soup from Olive Garden?" We went for early dinner and we were able to get a table for four easily. The service was quick and courteous in a comfortable setting. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Food was delicious , servings were ample( we took home leftover for lunch the next day. I live limoncello so I ordered a limoncello cake and it was delicious. Food was well seasoned as opposed to some restaurants I have gone to where the food was too salty. I think restaurants should ease up on the salt and allow customers to salt the food themselves. We were unfortunately very disappointed in our experience at Il limone. Although I have the understanding that they are short staffed, it's quite obvious the family must have little to no experience in running a restaurant. We waited in line to be seated for close to a half an hour as the owner's son refused to seat people or take take-out orders until his phone timer went off in attempt to keep the kitchen staff from being overwhelmed. There's no reason why dine-ins shouldn't be seated and atleast given the opportunity to start with drinks. I would suggest delegating the hosting position to one specific person who stays in the front of the house. They could also take take-out orders and cash out people up front. This would really help with turn around times. I would also suggest to delegate the running of food from the kitchen and salad-making to one specific person, rather than having so many servers on during one shift. It looks as though they do not use a point of sale computer system, which would really make an improvement. There were also a few minor health code violations that were visible. Their beverages were held in a bucket of ice directly placed on the floor in front of the whole restaurant and none of the kitchen staff was wearing hats or bandanas over their hair. When it comes to the food, the meatballs and sauce were spectacular, which really is all that I can say that was positive. However, our Caesar salad had no cheese and our L'Antonia had raw arugula and cherry tomatoes that could have at least been dressed with lemon, olive oil, salt, and pepper. The wait time was very long and it was clear multiple items of our orders were forgotten about. The brother and sister were not communicating, which was apparent to not only the guests, but also seemed to be to make the staff uncomfortable. This place does have potential, I hope they are willing to take constructive criticism or hire a restaurant manager with experience. read more

So good! The red sauce reminds me of my grandmother's. I went before and after they moved to the bigger dining room. I've also used their catering for a family event. The service has always been good. The bolognese is delish, a creamy buttery yummy flavor. The eggplant parm was so good with that yummy red sauce. Try their specials. The risotto tastes creamy and flavorful not gummy and bland. I've had seafood there a bunch of times, fresh and good. I think the last thing I had was a yummy tuna dish. My favorite pizza there is the grandmas pizza. It had an amazing sauce with a hint of garlic and his crust is just so darn good. My son loves their meatballs. Claudio is the mastermind behind this restaurant and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into this restaurant. Il Limone is on our regular rotation. read more
