Awesome spot, just came back from a wonderful dinner tonight! It was empty but regardless we received prompt and efficient and very polite service. Then waiter was very personable which I can appreciate. The food was delicious, and fresh. I'll post photos too. I went here with one of my friends one night for dinner. The place had a few tables taken but those people slowly left about half way through our meal. Towards the end of our meal there was only one other table left in the restaurant. When I looked at the kitchen door and saw a huge roach/waterbug we informed our waiter who informed the other staff causing one of the waitresses to jump up on a chair. A whole huge giant scene occurred over this bug and not one person apologized for it. No one said oh sorry you had to see that. We opted not to get desert and left. I would not go back here ever again. I understand all restaurants have the ability to have bugs but never have i seen such a show, and not gotten an apology. The food was okay, kind of oily. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. Every time I come I am reminded of how great it really is. Tonight I went with my wife, we started with baked calms and eggplant rollatini . Both were fresh and delicious. She had the filet mignon , which she said was cooked perfectly. I had my go-to ravioli, which was amazing as always. We usually have the creme brûlée for dessert but tonight we were stuffed so we passed on ordering it. I've eaten lunch here several times, and it is an amazing value. Dinner, well, the service needs work. We ordered two of the specials and two of the regular dinners. First of all, the wine order was screwed up. How one confuses "chianti" with "chardonnay" I can't tell you. Appetizers were okay, but the tomatoes in the caprese salad should have been riper. The halibut special was far from special. The steak special was supposed to come with broccoli rabe, but the vegetable they delivered.. 5 minutes after the entree....was regular broccoli. The pasta sides were all done wrong and all delivered well after the entrees. The shrimp scampi was plentiful and quite good. The second round of drinks was not delivered until we reminded them, and to their credit, one drink was one the house. Lunch, maybe...dinner? Never again. read more

Very nice neighborhood restaurant. I would give it a 3.5. Basic Italian menu but the specials were delicious. They had a hot sausage with broccoli rabe appetizer. Very rarely do I find hot sausages at restaurants. I had the seafood special Brazino with scallops. Plus a good assortment for dessert. The only drawback was they made a mistake with my order. They gave me shrimp instead of scallops. I think the waitress made a mistake telling us it was scallops instead of shrimp. Possibly understaffed. Intimate spot with decent food. That would be the best that I'd confirm. My friends and I had high hopes for this restaurant, however, we were let down by the service. Right as we sat down, we were crassly asked what we'd like to drink, though we weren't even given a minute to decide, as no menus (food or drink) were presented. To note, there is no beer at this establishment. When provided with our glasses of wine, a small nip bottle of moscato was uncandidly poured into my girlfriend's glass in front of her. Some class would've been appreciated - the moscato could have been poured prior to being presented. We ordered a dozen baked clams, only to be given 10, for the same price. My chicken parm was mistakenly replaced by another dish. The waiter told me that there was a mistake in the kitchen - some other chicken dish was essentially forced onto my lap, with a lack of apology. I asked for the right order, but was told it would take another 10 to 15 minutes to prepare and the waiter was reluctant to take the mistaken plate back. The dish wasn't bad, but it was not what I wanted nor anticipated. Additionally, waiter was not attentive and had to be flagged down multiples for things such as new plates, additional silverware, water, or overall necessities throughout the night. I hope to come back in the future for the food, however, the service needs to improve. read more

I love this restaurant. Every time I've been there Ive enjoyed myself. The red snapper is my favorite dish but every dish I've tried there has been good. Calamari is always fresh and tender never chewy, sol and Chilean sea bass are both delicious, as is their vodka sauce(obviously on whatever pasta) and the chicken Marsala and francaise are both also great. Went here with my mom and aunt during the day and had lunch specials. Appetizers were great and so was the main course. Came back with my parents a week later and arrived about 3:05pm due to difficulty with parking. Restaurant was empty and they still wouldn't honor the lunch special. We were 5 minutes late for it. We sat anyway and ordered a pasta dish, a chicken dish and a veal dish. The veal was so tough that my mom couldn't even cut with a knife. She didn't eat it and we told waiter and he just shrugged. I normally would have made a bigger deal but didn't want to upset my parents. It took him 15 minutes to bring our check. Restaurant isn't bad but not good customer service. There are better places around with nicer waitstaff. read more

Service was very warm and friendly. Such a cozy place and we felt very welcome. They brought out warm bread of great quality and most importantly real extra virgin olive oil, the good stuff that has a hint of bitterness. The burrata appetizer was terrific. My veal capricciosa was delicious and very nice portion size. I tasted my daughter's carbonara and it tasted very authentic. Used to go to this place when it first opened and had to stop, even though the food was decent, because my wife couldn't stand the slow service. Two years later, not much has changed. We went on a Wednesday night, figuring it wouldn't be crowded, and we were right. Service didn't change though. We waited over 20 minutes for the appetizer to come out and it wouldn't have come out at all if we didn't ask the waitress what was going on. The excuse was the printer sending the order to the kitchen (less than 5 feet away) must have broken down. I enjoyed the chicken verbena but we had to leave before dessert as we both had to get to work the next day and couldn't tell how long that course would have taken to get served. read more

I have mixed feeling about this place. First of all, there are not really that many good restaurants in Whitestone, and this one is slightly above average for the food. However, they don't really have a great menu for any challenging dishes besides the standard fare of chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, veal marsalla, etc. (however, what they have is good). The decor is nice, but the service is really slow and they have a pretty young (and not very diligent wait staff). I've been here a few times, and it's not very consistent with the service. Sometimes it takes long, sometimes not. It's also one of those places, where half the people get their food, then half the food comes out 10 min later. I don't love it, but don't hate it. read more
