I loved how friendly and informative they were and how beautiful the place looked inside. They have live music and a lovely dance floor and stage area. I love the bar area and the great margaritas. The food was pretty good, although what I was looking forward to the most ended up being the biggest disappointment. I was really in the mood for tacos so I decided to give this place a try. It really is surprising to me how so many restaurants in the area that claim to offer "authentic Mexican" seem to care so little about the quality of their tacos. My chicken tacos were simply plain grilled chicken on tortillas with a couple pieces of radish and 2 lime wedges on the side. No cilantro, no onion, no cojita, and the tortillas weren't slightly grilled the way most people like. My expectations were severely dashed as soon as I saw what they looked like. I know how much Mexicans take pride in their tacos, and I believe Mexicans are some of the most culinarily gifted people walking this earth. So my question is why do so many Mexican spots, especially this new one, put forth such half-assed effort into their tacos. I hope the decision makers of this place read this and take my advice, sell better tacos. It's a nice atmosphere, decorated well, with a nice bar that has as big a selection of tequila as I've seen around here. I want this place to succeed and I will give them another shot in the near future.

My beloved…read moremother-in-law treated us to a wonderful steakhouse in Yorktown, and the entire experience was memorable from start to finish. The interior is stunning, with large cathedral ceilings, white tablecloths, and an open yet cozy atmosphere that gives you the classic feel of a traditional steakhouse. One of my favorite touches was the mural of Federico da Montefeltro, the Duke of Urbino, displayed prominently on the back wall. To start, we shared the applewood-smoked bacon appetizer. It was incredibly thick, smoky, rich, and absolutely delicious -- the kind of indulgence where you can practically feel your arteries clogging, but it's completely worth it. My wife and mother-in-law both ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly. My son and I shared the bone-in steak, and it was so large we couldn't even finish it. The sides were simple and classic: creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, both done very well. For dessert, they brought out crème brûlée and chocolate mousse cake with a candle on top for my birthday. The staff gathered around to sing "Happy Birthday," which made the evening feel even more special and personal. A wonderful meal, a warm atmosphere, and a memorable celebration with family. I would definitely go back.

Between the sweeping views of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands, the warm summer air, and a DJ keeping the atmosphere lively without overwhelming the conversation, it's the kind of place where you plan to stay for one drink and somehow the entire evening disappears. By the end of the night, our group had managed to eat our way through most of the menu. Nothing was trying to reinvent the wheel, but everything was well prepared, satisfying, and exactly what we wanted for a relaxed rooftop gathering. The food isn't the reason to come--it's the complete experience. Naturally, we leaned into the fun. The Moscow Mule served in a take-home copper mug was an easy decision, and once we spotted the "Double Tap" special (beer, shot, commemorative cup, and T-shirt), there was no turning back. We wanted to make sure we'd remember the night long after we crossed back over the river. The staff deserves a special mention. They handled our large group--including kids--with patience, flexibility, and genuine hospitality. Everyone felt welcome, which isn't always easy with a bigger party. As a former Marine Corps infantry officer, it pains me just a little to hand a five-star review to an Army establishment... but credit where it's due. Zulu Time earned it. I can't imagine the Hotel Thayer without this. It's exactly the kind of place I'll be bringing friends and family from the Garrison, Cold Spring, and greater Hudson Valley area whenever they want a laid-back evening with one of the best rooftop views around.

We are…read morefrom NYC, and have eaten at some of the "top" Greek restaurants around--House of Stefas surpasses all of them. We came here on a whim after spending the day in the area and we are already talking about coming back to the area, just to eat here. The front of the restaurant could not be prettier, with beautiful decor and torches just beckoning you in. We were immediately greeted by the friendliest hostess and seated in one of their beautiful dining rooms. Their cocktail menu is not something to pass on! I saw that they had an espresso martini on the menu and I asked if they could make it a decaf (if not I gave our server a plan b cocktail). Not only did they deliver (a delicious) decaf espresso martini but they were so enthusiastic about all of their coffee choices! My husband had the Gucci 52 (I of course had a couple of sips) and it was superb. Better than many of the cocktails I have had in several NYC Greek restaurants and so much more creative! Now for the food! We shared the sweet potato hummus, duck kokkinisto and grape leaves stuffed with tuna. I have never seen any of those items on any Greek menu before and duck is one of my favorites! They were all 10/10. The flavors could not be beat and the portions and presentation were all so generous and thoughtful. After experiencing their cocktails and dinner we knew we couldn't skimp on dessert. We shared the custard stuffed phyllo and OH MY GOSH. If you're too full for dessert, make room! Lastly but certainly not least, the servers deserve their own paragraph. We were simply blown away by the professionalism, kindness and passion from our server and other server's we interacted with. We felt so taken care of. We were given our bag of leftovers at the very end of our meal, which is such a nice touch. This level of service is not something you see everyday. Professional but warm, not stuck up, efficient but does not make you feel rushed. This area is worth visiting if only to come here! Thank you for making our experience so memorable.

Babis was fantastic: personable, fun, attentive, and his recommendations were spot on. The meal was outstanding. The tender baby calamari was delicious, the pita bread was unbelievably light and cloud-like, and paired perfectly with the authentic tzatziki. Our short ribs and halibut were both exceptional. They also have a wonderful selection of creative non-alcoholic cocktails (pictured), and even the signature House of Stefas ice cubes were a fun detail. We finished with an espresso and cappuccino.. the perfect ending. Another fun surprise: the imported swan faucets in the restrooms. They're a rare and memorable touch. We will definitely be back.
