Man! I had the best meal ever here!!! I hate seafood but was talked into trying the octopus and it was so good- grilled and tons of flavor. Wonderful restaurant! The owner was there and was also doing the cooking. He would come over and make recommendations from what wine to pair with our meal to which desserts. At the end we were also given a seasoning packet to take home and a bottle of their namesake wine. read more

Went here about 3 months ago during my two week stay in positano with my best friend. We came here 5 times!! Our favorite restaurant in positano by far. They have a super convenient shuttle to and from. The staff is very welcoming and the food is amazzzzing. Miss it so much!!!! read more

Fantastic menu!! Lots of beautifully crafted seafood dishes. The view is absolutely stunning in the early evening. If you come early you won't need a reservation, but after 8:30 you will want one. The staff is very friendly and most speak enough English so your casual Italian speaker will feel comfortable. The wine list is quiet extensive, and the house wines are very not bad. Excellent dining experience, If you end up in positano/montepertuso I would make the trek up the hill to enjoy a evening here. read more

Definitely worth the trip up the mountain. We were welcomed by a friendly staff, and it went up from there. Beautiful views of Positano. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The melon,prosciutto, and mozzarella was the best I have ever eaten, followed by an amazing pasta with bolognese sauce. If you're into wine, their selection comes from a book, not a list, and they have choices for every budget. Don't forget dessert. read more

Hands down the best service we have received in our 2 weeks in Italy. The owner of the shop and wait staff made us feel so welcomed. It was our 4 year wedding anniversary which we told them and they could not have been more hospitable. We went the night prior to make reservations (we were given this recommendation from a waiter at another restaurant!) and got free champagne and pastries. Then at dinner, they greeted us with another 2 glasses of champagne and free delicious appetizers. we ordered the sausage pasta which was great and the clams/mussels pasta which was okay (but I am not a huge fan of mussels). Then we got 4 free shots, 2 free desserts (even though we ordered 2 soufflés) and he gave us a packet of spices to take home!! You don't get a view of the ocean but I was fine with that since it was night and a little rainy. It's in montepertuso which is a trek from where most people stay but it is literally at the bus stop you would get off at (piazza Capelle). Would highly, highly recommend this place . read more

Would give 3.5 stars if I could probably. Charming place way up on the hill above Positano. Restaurant will arrange for a driver to pick you up. Service started great, as they waited curbside for us to arrive, greeted us with the typical prosecco, etc., though the service was less and less impressive as the night went on (our food came out at wildly different times, and they even seemed to completely forget our food once or twice). Food itself was mixed to pretty good. "Seafood fantasy" antipasti was the definitely the highlight. The Fiorentina steak was great. Desserts also received high marks. Everything else was just ok. Great view and ambiance though, and that's pretty much what you hope for our of restaurants in Positano. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Il Ritrovo. The restaurant is located high above Positano, and the restaurant will send a shuttle to your location to bring you up (as well as take you back down afterward at your convenience). The drive itself is beautiful and enjoyable. Next, the food is delicious. I personally had the truffle ravioli and was thrilled with it. Finally, every member of the staff is wonderful. They are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. You can tell how much they enjoy working with each other as well as their customers. We were also treated to complimentary bruschetta as well as cookies for dessert. We had such a lovely dinner that we decided to do a cooking class with the staff, as well, and had an even more enjoyable experience. Cannot recommend Il Ritrovo enough! read more

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, and they picked us up for the drive up to Montepertuso. The driver and waiters were very nice, and the restaurant had a fairly good view of the sea. Some of the dishes were great (the octopus appetizer) but many were let downs. The lobster in the lobster pasta tasted overcooked (although the pasta was good), and the pasta with clams was too salty. The large prawn dish we ordered was also overcooked. They gave us a bottle of wine when we left (as they did with the other tourists there), which was a nice touch, but there are many other places nearby with better food and a more authentic atmosphere. read more

The restaurant sent a car to pick us up, pulled over for pictures of Positano from a great view, and brought us to a restaurant in Montenertuso that we would never have found on our own. An awesome evening! Good food, wine and hospitality. the location is unique, a view of a residential neighborhood leading down to the bay, situated on a court yard with two special dining areas, a great wine selection and a view into the kitchen if you like where you can watch Salvatore, the m. Chef; very impressive! The grilled catch of the day was perfect! Complimentary - procesco, very smooth, appetizers and after dinner apertifs!! I recommend an evening at Il Ritrovo and would stop by again! A unique experience with a special family! read more

My husband & I took a cooking class & ate dinner here and it was amazing!!! One of the favorite parts of our honeymoon and the view from the restaurant was breathtaking- definitely worth going to. The sauce and lemon cello is made fresh every day, homemade pasta by chef Mary lou and the freshest seafood I have ever had! Definitely a great place and worth making the trip to! read more

This Resturant is perched a top some steep roads above Positano. It takes some effort of bravery to reach this Resturant but thankfully they have a Mercedes taxi van to fetch you and drop you back off in Positano. The atmosphere is wonderful, clean and a breath of fresh air to most Italian Restaurants. The staff was as kind and helpful as one could possibly be . The food is delicious , fresh and unique. I highly suggest a visit here!! It will be absolutely worth it! read more

Conveniently picked up from our hotel and taken to the restaurant through a windy road up the hill. The whole experience felt very touristy, more so than usual, probably because we were among a bus load of tourist dropped off at the same time for dinner and there wasn't a local in site. Dinner was good, but didn't live up to our expectations. We ordered the clam pasta, fillet of beef (was over cooked - don't bother) pumpkin ravioli, the grilled octopus (was fantastic - might be worth going for along with the view) and shared a tiramisu (also very good). read more

We loved this place. Very surprised to hear the mixed reviews. It was recommended by a friend who had been before - "it's a drive up above positano but worth the trip". Definitely worth the trip. They sent a minivan to pick us up. It does take about 30 minutes to get there but for sure worth the trip. For many reasons. First we got a full tour of positano on the ride there and some amazing views looking down onto positano. Also it's in a no touristy area so you get to see more of the local life. It's on a main square with enough activity to catch a glimpse of what life is like here. And then the restaurant itself is great. Amazing views, great service. And the food we all thought was fantastic. Amazing local wine was recommended and all of the dishes were superb - one of our party (british) spent his 18th year working in Italy and said he hadn't tasted pasta or salami like this since then. For sure worth a visit if your here. Call them up and have them pick you up, you won't be disappointed. read more
