I decided to book United Taxi because their San Fernando Valley website said most locations to LAX had a flat rate of $38 or your ride would be below $50 at least. However, the ride ended up being $77 from Tarzana, right off the highway. I asked about the flat rate and he said it was only for downtown. Weird because downtown is nearly the same time away driving-wise. Although convenient, I checked Uber prices and availability at the time the cab took us, and they were cheaper ($46)and there were drivers around our location. I would like to support other taxi services besides the large rideshare companies but I can't be paying $30 more. Would probably not take them again even though we rarely would require the service.
