The short: Undoubtedly the best massage at the best price in the upper east side - and arguably in all of NYC. The longer: I've been coming to iLove Spa for over a year now, and I've admittedly been hoarding what's the best massage secret in the area. The entire staff are so beyond friendly. It's always clean, and the team go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Shan is the absolute man. He genuinely understands muscles and anatomy. I tore my meniscus, and a few months later I had an unbelievable foot pain - he used pressure points to fix it. I come in with tense shoulder or a stiff neck - and he uses exactly the right pressure to help alleviate tension and pain. Genuinely, I feel so very lucky that this place exists in our neighborhood. I reached out at at 10am for an appointment and they said they had availability at 4:30pm but unfortunately that was too late. However, 20 minutes later they called me and said they had a cancellation at noon, I went and it was it amazing! I got a 90 minute lymphatic drainage massage and it was phenomenal! Yesterday I was lifted to another dimension with Maggie's Thai massage. I couldn't believe it. She was basically doing acroyoga and suspending my entire body in the air (I'm 115lbs). She stretched me like taffy. She pumped her legs with me in the air like she was at Barry's boot camp. This IS the cheapest and most affordable thai massage in the city. Plus, there's no where else in the city you can get it for this cheap. I'm telling you, I've looked. Plus the effort she put in was phenomenal. She knew what she was doing. I tackled on the 30 minute Thai massage after a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Sean. Sean was only fingers (no elbows/forearms) but he played me like a piano. First came here a couple years ago when I lived in the area and recently went back with my mom and sister after a long weekend of moving apartments. Messaging via Yelp is always quick and reasonable. The spa itself is not the fanciest but it does the job. Flex rooms as the massage rooms but the ambiance is still great. Professional, kind, and great massage services. This is a no frills spa. It's tiny (maybe 3 stations?). The 5 stars is for the quality of service (A basic deep tissue massage for my tired and "out of shape from sitting all day" muscles). Please do not expect amenities like spa music, cucumber water, fancy linens, and spa lighting.. Vivian is a God-Send- somehow she knew all my problem areas (shoulders and back from stress) and was patient and listened when I asked her to concentrate on problem areas. I am travelling and working in front of a computer a lot so i was just looking for a place with no whistles and bells, just to the point massage. I checked yelp and came across with this place. First of all they are very kind, and i wrote from yelp and they answered in less than 15 mins. They accepted me right away. This place is clean (much cleaner compared to the other places i went in nyc) it is just a plain massage focused on the areas you would like. The walls dont go all the way up but iy didnt bother me at all as I was there for my tense muscles not for a spa experience. They also gave me 15 min complementary, and were extremely kind. I would give zero star if I could. I use to go here frequently. Today Shane the guy soon as I walk in, he is yelling at a customer and hangs up and doesn't even acknowledge when I walk in and scowls and then yells at me for starting late when our appointment was at 2pm and he was on the phone till 2:04. The owner/woman I spoke on the phone said she notified him of our appointment and he wasn't even aware we had a session to begin with upon my arrival. This was giving them one more try after they had an ant issue when she gave me a massage few months back and I let them know that there were ants all over the floor as she and Shane eats there(I have seen them come in with food in their mouths while still chewing) and the food is what seems to be attracting the ants. Starts my session and I asked for neck,back,legs face down asked for deep pressure and communicated. He ignores my request rubs merely oil over me and touched my breast tissue!!! I was so mortified I cut my session short and wanted to run out of there he yelled at me for saying tip wasn't enough ! Also she sent me a picture of the price and when I was paying it was a different price. Update: I should have listen to another review .noticing it now saying she had same experience with Shane!! They treated me to another session which I can honestly say was probably one of the best massages I have ever received. The therapist I had today was Maggie and she was very sweet and attentive to my trouble spot on my back as well as giving the rest of my body the attention that it deserved.
