Do not rent from this place 1. On 1/17/26 I reserved a tuxedo. I was told to pick it up on Wednesday 1/21/26 and that I would get a call before 2pm 2. On Wednesday I called at 3:42, I was told they were about to call me. I had an event at 5 pm at a location at across town. I was given a tuxedo to try on with a shirt that was 3XL. I have never worn anything larger than a L. I was told they could hem the shirt and be ready by 6pm. When I informed them I had to be across town at 5pm the older clerk angrily said "do you want it or not?" I politely said I would pick it up Friday afternoon. The jacket would have to also be hemmed up to match the shirt sleeves. 3. Friday afternoon I had another event that run late so at 5:46 I called them to inform them I would be 8 mins late to pick up the tuxedo. 4. The shirt was still fitting to big but i thought if i keep the jacket during the whole event on Saturday it would be ok. 5. The jacket sleeved were hemmed up about two inches from the mark the young staff member had done. The older gentleman even said it was hemmed up way above the mark. That gentleman was able to fix the jacket sleeves on the spot. 6. On 1/24/26 at 10:01 the event organizer informed all attendees the event would be cancelled due to the deteriorating weather conditions. At 11:18 I called Image Avenue Clothiers to inform them I would be returning the rental. I asked about their cancellation policy the young staff lady informed she would call me in 30 mins because they never had that happen in the past. I did not receive any calls. 7. I showed up around 1:20 with the tuxedo and rental agreement that has a cancellation fee of 50% on it. I was told by the older staff lady that I would not get any refund. I've been going to this place for the past six years and their quality of work has really ,really gone down . I've had to take back three pairs pants because of the hem coming undone. Each time the owner has tried to charge me for their mistake.I took a 600 dollar suit to get tailored , he charged me 117 dollars to ruin my suit . When I told him I was not happy with the way the suit turned out he tried to tack on an additional charge . The owner was super rude about it . I'm sure the business will not go belly up on the count of my bad review , but if you don't want to deal with poor quality and service please stay away from this place . read more

We went here for tuxedo rentals for my fiancés groomsmen, as well as a tuxedo purchase for my fiancé. We received EXCELLENT customer service from Phil, as he was able to understand the overall look we were going for. He was able to show us different styles based on what we wanted. This place is much better than it's competitors, such as Jos A Bank, Men's Warehouse, etc, which are very general without alot of customizable options. On the contrary, image avenue was able to customize everything to our liking- including shirt & tux fit, color, style, bow tie/tie color and texture, as well as cufflink & button types. Went with my daughter and future son-in-law. He was looking for tuxedos for himself and his groomsmen. As do most formal wear stores, Image Avenue Clothiers rents and sells tuxedos. Unlike the big box stores, we dealt directly with the owner. Phil has been in the formal wear business for 30-plus years and proprietor of this business since approximately 2009. He is passionate about his business, and it shows in his top-notch customer service. The selection in the store is limited; however, they have catalogs featuring dozens of tuxedos from which to choose. Phil guided us through every step, with no pressure. Zero. This is truly a service-oriented business. My future son-in-law found a very handsome tuxedo that was leaps and bounds nicer than those at the big box stores. We found equally nice tuxedos for his groomsmen. Rental price does not include shoes, but even after adding the shoe rental his price is more than $50 below the competition. For an out-of-town groomsman, Phil will give him instructions on getting fitted locally and then using those measurements to get him a tuxedo here. Even nicer, for just $10, he'll "drop ship" the tuxedo to his home address so that he'll have it beforehand. I found a gorgeous Italian tuxedo for myself of excellent quality at a reasonable price. They pride themselves because they dress "San Antonio royalty" but when it comes to a simple alteration it's trash. Don't bother telling them what you want because they will do whatever they want to your things anyway. As I'm talking to him he goes about his business and ignores me. Image Avenue was recently recommended to me by a men's clothing store salesman. I was in search of a black vest with white stripes for a wedding that was quickly approaching. Apparently this style is impossible to find in my size, for I am a large man. As soon as I walked into the store I was met by Phil, the friendly and professional owner of Image. Phil explained that he had a full workload making all the suits and gowns for Fiesta; a colossal, local San Antonio event. I was quickly discouraged because I knew this was a massive undertaking. However, he measured me immediately and agreed to make my vest in the midst of the Fiesta chaos. I was shocked that he agreed to make my single piece and nervous that I wouldn't get it in time. In order to save time, he sent me on a mission to find the fabric I needed in which I had no luck finding. There were too many fabrics and I knew nothing about them. Phil communicated with me from his personal cell phone until we found the right fabric (even after store hours). I ordered the fabric and had it shipped to his shop. He made my vest, fitted me, and sewed the buttons with about 5 days to spare before the wedding. Needless to say, I was relieved! Phil and his lovely wife have gone above and beyond by making me a priority over a much larger and more profitable order. For this reason alone, Image Avenue will continue to be my go to Clothier for as long as they're in business. I have already set aside several other pieces that I need tailored, but of course I'll wait until Fiesta season is over. I SWEAR TO YOU, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! The co-owner Rosy, is rude, unprofessional, extremely lacks in her customer service skills, and is in need of sn attitude adjustment. She acted a complete fool in the store, dogging her husband , the CEO, out and barking at him to get outvof the store, when he promised us an alteration service that SHE didn't agree with! So only come here if you want to get LIED to and promised a service that you ultimately don't get, OVERCHARGED, if you want to deal with Rosy's DISGUSTING ATTITUDE, and if you want to be dissatisfied with the product, when you find out they didn't do several things right. They change on you after you have paid them their money. This is not worth going through, for a bride who is already stressed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY SISTER, MOM, AUNT, COUSIN, ETC, NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. Definitely not worth it!!! read more

I have had 3 dresses altered here--all reasonably priced alterations, beautifully done, and 100% on time. I have never had a negative encounter with any of the staff. It is worth it to call ahead to make sure one of their staff that is good at marking is there. I went late one day, and everyone had gone home except one person and he didn't feel comfortable marking my dress because it was a more complicated alteration. (Length adjustments probably aren't as big of a deal). Anyway, I highly recommend Image Ave. read more

Image Clothiers helped with my daughters wedding dress. My daughter's wedding was in December and the wedding dress she chose was a strapless dress but yet was on a hunt for a sleeved cover/shawl type attachment for the dress. We checked David's Bridal and my daughter was not happy with their selection. We decided to try Image Clothiers and the garment that they created was perfect! Phil, Rosie and their magic workers designed an attachment to my daughters wedding dress that if I did not know better was part of the dress to begin with. I ordered a suit for my son for prom , my son is tall and thin. I ordered a size 34r, it took a week for the suit to come in , we went in to get it altered. The day we picked it up it still was not fitted properly. We took it because we were out of time the prom was 3 days away. Needless to say my son didn't wear it because we noticed that the suit they gave us was a 36r and not even the same style we ordered. I took the suit back and the owner was not only rude, but refused to give me my money back. Don't go to this place unless you don't care about what you get .
