Immigrant Son Brewery has become one of my favorite restaurants to grab a beer and food. Dark Halo and Even in the Morning stouts are delicious. Recently, I tried Dark Halo with the ISB Root Beer at the Winter Warmer. I'm hoping it becomes a seasonal flavor. I generally sit at the bar, the service is anyways great. The ambiance doesn't feel like your typical brewery. It's very bright inside but it has an open floor plan. I believe some nights they host trivia. During my most recent trip I tried the short ribs. They were good and hit the spot but I think I'll stick to the burgers. read more

We visited Immigrant Son Brewery for the first time last night for a family dinner and had a really enjoyable experience overall. My husband and son both ordered the Immigrant Son Smashburger and shared an order of zucchini fritters. The burgers were excellent and definitely the standout of the night. The fritters were crispy and a great side to split. My younger son tried the poutine, which he enjoyed, though we all agreed it leaned a bit on the salty side. I ordered the Chicken Paprikas Handheld. It was good, but different from what I expected. Instead of a traditional paprikash feel, it was more like shredded pulled chicken and did not include spaetzle as the menu description suggested. It was topped with smoked tomato aioli and house pickles. Interesting flavors, but not something I would order again. My husband sampled two beers; the Irish Dry Stout and the "Toast Moats" Stout and he really enjoyed both. The dining and bar areas are large with an open layout and both low and high-top tables and booths giving the space a lively but comfortable vibe. We visited during happy hour and sat in the bar section and appreciated the specials and pricing. Overall, a solid first visit with great burgers and beer. Had dinner and beers with a group of 6 tonight. The food was great (bahn mi, Philly cheesesteak, chicken paprikash sammy, Nashville hot chicken sammy, the hot dog, pierogi and veggie yakisoba). We also tried quite a few of the beers: ISB American pilsner, Acapulco Golden ale, Blueberry Kolsch, Better Together Lemongrass Saison, ISB Common Ale... everything was very tasty for a diverse group of eaters and drinkers! My husband and I wanted a meal after hanging out with friends for the Bills playoff game, that didn't end so well for Buffalo. We walked to Immigrants Son Brewery. The vibes were great. Breweries for some reason almost always offer a killer menu for individuals who are gluten free, and I am always thankful for that. We ordered the Korean sticky chicken bites for an appetizer. They were wonderful. What I didn't appreciate was that about 5 minutes after receiving the appetizer, we got our food. I hate when the meal feels rushed or hurried. I like to give myself time to breathe between courses. The chicken was really good. The next morning I ate them for breakfast and they were nice and crispy and flavorful. I ordered the gluten free fish and chips. The fish was coated with a potato crust. It was very good. I enjoyed the tartar sauce as well. The lemon fennel salad hit the spot and was a great marriage of flavors for the entire dish. It was also served with fries. My husband ordered the patty melt that was on special and took half of it home. I had a cider on tap, which was labeled dry, but a little sweeter than I like, and Phil had a beer and liked it because it tasted like a beer. The one thing I didn't appreciate was the added "convenience fee" on the bill. Not sure what that was for, but it wasn't anywhere on the menu, nor did I see it in a sign somewhere. The waitress wasn't really friendly. Would I come back? Absolutely. I would just ask them to give us some time in between the appetizer and food. I love chicken paprikash and theirs might be the best I've ever had! Rich, hearty and served over fresh spaetzl. The plate was as beautiful as it was delicious. They offer a large variety of beers. Our server was very knowledgeable and offered great recs. I wish I could remember the name of my beer, but I do remember that I really liked it. Came here off of a few recommendations for pierogi week. Heard their chicken paprikash pierogis were amazing and $8 a portion of 3. We landed there at 1:30p on Saturday. The bartender Rebecca was nice and we decide on the chicken paprikash, beef, and the house pierogi. Then we were told the chicken paprikash pierogi was out. The only reason I came there was the chicken paprikash pierogi. That was it. And your out half way through the day? You need to be prepared! So that is why the score. The 1 thing I wanted and came there for they were out. After that what is the point? So we added the apple pie pierogi since we couldn't get the chicken paprikash. The rest of the pierogis were 1 large one and they were more than $8. House was $9 and the beef and apple pie were $14. For 1! Ya, that's a rip. So we are them. They were good and tastee but they were about 4 bites each. $50 plus bucks later with drinks that was it. We paid and left. I did order a beer the miklus holiday and that was OK. The staff was nice. Place is big with TV's. Open space and 2 rooms. Maybe if I wasn't going for a specific reason I might have liked this place better. Running out of the only thing I wanted just irked me! Love that they rotate their beers pretty often. The space is pretty big with two different dining areas. I've only been here for trivia on Tuesday nights which is in the secondary dining room. They offer happy hour all evening for trivia which is nice. Most of the beers are basic lagers, kolsch' and ipas. Nothing too inventive, but they do a good job. I recently got the orange pearl kolsch, which I enjoyed. Their food is okay. I've had the poutine which didn't have a ton of flavor but was fine. Their fries are shoestring but also really short so you definitely need to eat them with a fork. Not my favorite. I recently got the French onion soup, which I did enjoy and it was a good size. In general, I haven't heard great things about their food though, so I haven't tried much. Service is okay. Since I usually come for trivia, it tends to be a little slow as there's only 1 or two people servicing the whole room. They are friendly though. They have a parking lot out front, but it's not huge. Be careful on a busy evening not to park in front of the building next door, you may get towed. read more

Lakewood's only brewery is one of the best in the Cleveland area, with friendly staff, chill vibes and good food -- in addition to tasty beer, of course. I've mostly been for dinner with friends but recently went for my birthday brunch because we needed someplace that opened earlyish (at 10) and could accommodate a small child. Our 1yo inhaled his ham & cheese omelet, and the rest of us got to enjoy a nice, leisurely, somewhat boozy brunch -- perfect! I got the blueberry beer, which I loved (super refreshing) and the basic breakfast, which came with toast, eggs, bacon and cheesy scalloped potatoes. The whole family agreed that they were some of the best breakfast potatoes we'd ever had. My husband and father-in-law both loved the croque monseur, and we finished with an apple crisp that was big enough for us all to share. PIEROGI WEEK 2025 SPECIAL My friend and I came this week for Cleveland Pierogi week 2025 & their special pierogi menu! We both got 1 braised beef pierogi and the chicken paprikas pierogis! The braised beef was yummy and giant!! The chili braised beef inside was so yummy!! I was skeptical of the pickled carrots and the celery root puree... but it all paired so well together!! And our favorite.. the chicken paprikas pierogis... DELICIOUS!! I could eat a whole bowl of these... my only complaint is that I wish I could've had more of the sauce on top!! We came here for a club event. As we approach the front door we were created by a sign that said No Kings, No ICE, and some other political statement. If we hadn't driven a long way to attend the event and had people expecting us we would have turned around and left right then. Our politics are our business and it is unthinkable that this business would try to impose their leftist ideology on anyone!! The food was ok. One fairly large pierogi was $9 as was my very small strout. So for 2 perogies, 2 IPA beers, and one little stout the bill was rediculous as they added a 20% tip and a 2% convenience. The final bill was $56.76! They even had a space for an additional tip if we wanted to add it. REALLY? The service was good but a total of 22% in automatic additional charges was just not right. Been here a couple times and it's been great each time. The beers are some of the best I've had! They have a wide variety. I personally like light beers, like lagers with fun flavors. I got a blueberry one was that delicious! And my husband got one, called street something..., and it had citrus flavors and it was delicious as well! This time we sat out on the little patio and it was nice! Nothing fancy, but they did what they could with a small space! The inside is really cute too though. I love that the menu changes from time to time. This time, we tried the fried bread and it was very filling and unique. It was like an upscale elephant ear ! I loved that this place also included several GF, vegan, and vegetarian items. I'm a vegetarian, so I got the house made black bean burgers as a substitute for the smash burger. They definitely could have made the patty smaller, as it drowned out the taste of the caramelized onions and Swiss that were on it. So that was a little disappointing. The zucchini fritters were unique and good, but I think I'd stick with the fries next time! Overall I would definitely recommend this place !! read more

I grew up in Lakewood (uhhh, a few decades ago) and now live north of Seattle. I brought my parents, sisters ,young nieces and nephews to ISB as it reminded me of my favorite brewery back near home- Otherlands in Bellingham ( Vegan menu BTW) ISB is well made beer with a clear voice, malt driven style, and intention that carries through the entire lineup. Assuming this was a typical brewpub, we were not in a hurry to check them out. That was a big mistake. During Pierogi Week we thought there offering was the best we sampled and that convinced us to come back and try the rest of the menu. That was a good decision! My wife loved the Shrimp and Grits because it wasn't overrun with hot, spicy supplements that often blanket the flavor. I really enjoyed the Meatloaf because it wasn't as heavy as this dish sometimes gets. The Pot du Crème was also different, with the addition of ice cream and nuts. Overall, this was a fortunate find all thanks to Pierogi Week. Who'd have thought? The moral of the story is never underestimate the food at a brewpub. read more

First time here, despite regular dining in Lakewood for decades. I think their remote location had something to do with that. But we found it and here goes: It's spacious inside, but the seats are plastic, small, and uncomfortable. Strange choice. And for a brewery, the beer was not that impressive. Three of our four beers on the flight were not very easy drinking. But the food mostly made up for it. A wagyu burger on a "langos" bun was superb, along with the epic side, light and airy zucchini fritters. (Think "healthy" hush puppies) A smoked wing special was good, although I prefer the skin a little more crispy, and a pork belly poutine had rich gravy that soaked the fries, but it was light on the meat portion, and the cheese curds were stone cold, leaving a weird contrast to the warm dish. $65 later before tip, this is not determined to be a regular stop. But I would go back sometime for that delectable burger again. read more

I've been trying to make it back here and I was not disappointed. This time I got a flight with wizard only black lager that is very good. Also cavitator doppelbock which I loved. The dark halo imperial stout was not a stout I liked. The last one I got was the license to drink porter. Everyone enjoyed the porter. The langos was excellent again. This time we got a burger too. It was a little salty for us but my family does not use a lot of salt. We got the zucchini fries which were balls of fried dough. I am obsessed with this great new brewery in Lakewood! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Immigrant Son to open, I stopped in the week after they opened. For a new business I was extremely impressed. There were literally no kinks that need to be worked out with food, service, or beer. I was almost completely satisfied. The negative- the parking but they already know that. I had their kolsch which was delicious (I can't remember the name) - this place makes a good beer. I also had the loaded langos which is traditional fried bread topped with butter, sour cream and cheese curds - omgeee so good! I had the Hungarian burger that has a langos bun!! My first time trying this brewery in lakewood, and I have to say this is a new favorite of mine! They have a great setup with big booths and gorgeous marble tables that were perfect for our party of six. It takes brewery vibes and makes it feel luxe. Their food was honestly amazing. The pierogi was soft and pillowy, light potato dough with w onions and sour cream. The poutine was salty and cheesy, a great snack to pair with a few beers. The curds were melty and had a great cheese pull to them. I also cannot recommend highly enough their langos (fried dough). Light and airy, also a great snack to pair with beer and share with friends. Service was super kind, always checking up on us throughout the meal. Excited to be back! Thanks ISB! read more

Shared a bunch of appetizers (extremely diverse menu .... Hungarian food!) Brussel sprouts were delicious! Great amount of balsamic and salty seasoning. Pierogi was well filled and flavorful. Loaded lángos was a cool thing to try! Texture was similar to elephant ears but this was salty not sweet. Delicious. Mussels were great with a yummy broth. Our run group decided to switch things up and move this week's trot to the Rocky River area so we could start / end at this new brewery. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helped us secure a sizeable table on their (enclosed due to weather) patio style area for our large group. My wife and I shared a sampler "paddle" of four beers, and we each ordered a main entree to share. The beers were pretty tasty, and going the paddle route allowed us to try more things, something we always appreciate. We had apricot, session, 56er and a porter. We like them all! For mains, my wife ordered the chicken paprikash and I had the fish-n-chips. The chicken paprikash consisted of an entire breast piece covered in a thick paprika-based creamy sauce laid atop a bed of spätzle. I would have preferred a dish where there we chunks of meat, in order to spread the paprikash flavor across more bites, but the taste was quite good and the dish very satisfying. The fish-n-chip had an unusual presentation. The large breaded and fried fish filet was topped with a sliced "slaw" on raw red onions and maybe a celery root instead of cabbage? Their tartar sauce was plenty of fresh dill, an "extra" ingredient we love in a tartar sauce. Their fries are on the thinner side, but very crispy...you just need to eat them quickly or they get cold really quick. All in all a pretty good meal, and a terrific first experience. Our server was the best part of the dining experience (5 star). The brussels sprouts appetizer and chicken schnitzel entree special were quite tasty (4 star), but neither the smoked pork chop nor the shrimp and grits warranted more than a two or three star rating. As for the charred octopus, it was a complete disappointment. Seeing as this is a brewpub, a mention must be made regarding the beer/ale. In my opinion, the rauschbier, IPA, and doepelbock examples that I sampled were not exceptionally flavorful representations of their respective styles. Overall, our evening was pleasant but did not merit a position at the top of our "Go To" list. read more

We just got a table for 2 and it was an hour wait - but we made the best of it and waited at Sloane Pub for a quick drink before Immigrant Son! Ordered the poutine fries and meatloaf (sorry forgot pics, we were so hungry) - both were very good! Great place to come with friends or family for drinks & food. Downside, their parking lot fills up very quickly. Not sure what will done in the future for that, but street parking is always an option. read more

Several of my friends had the chicken paprikas pierogis, and felt they tasted just average, I had the cauliflower "dippers" and they were close to burnt and not real tasty. The fried bread was the star for me, I could've eaten just that. The El Diablo cocktail I had was great, and most of my friends enjoyed the various beers they selected. Service was very good. We were a large group of 11 and the waitress managed to get all of our food correct and correctly charged. We had a good time, I wouldn't necessarily go back there for the food alone. read more
