Mike Wong was our DJ and MC for our wedding. It couldn't have gone any better. All I wanted was a giant dance party for my wedding and we got just that. We filled out a wedding planning worksheet that was due 10 days before our wedding. Our DJ scheduled a Zoom call with us a few days after we submitted our worksheet. The prep call was about 45 minutes to an hour. We went over our wedding timeline and the specific music we wanted for each moment (first dance, wedding party processional, grand entrance etc.) We also built Spotify playlists for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. We just copied the links into our planning worksheet. Mike understood the vibe for each part of our wedding day based on our Spotify playlist and was able to sprinkle in some other music that matched our existing playlists. My husband and I grew up in the Bay Area and so did most of our friends who were coming to our wedding. Mike immediately understood what he needed to do to keep the Bay vibes going on the dance floor. We had 3 hours of non stop dancing. Mostly family left before our wedding ended and all of our friends were left on the dance floor until we closed. Transitions, mixes and drops were all on point. Our wedding was at a Wedgewood venue so iMobileDJs was our preferred choice for DJ. We got the chance to work with Abel (DJ Cruz), we started working directly with him about a week out from our wedding once we had filled out the questionnaire and decided on all our songs. He was very communicative and receptive to all our ideas and hopes for the flow of our wedding. As both a DJ and MC he did a great job! We had live music for our ceremony, but Abel made sure to have our chosen songs on-deck just in case a cue was missed or anything happened at the last minute. Which made us feel really confident and relaxed about the logistics of our ceremony. We specially requested Arabic music during our musical chairs game and at the beginning of our open dancing time. Since this was a little outside of the norm we helped him source the songs from YouTube and Spotify. Then he did the extra work to make sure it was the correct versions of all the songs and he mixed them to cut off long intros and outros which were low-energy or too repetitive. He did a wonderful job keeping the energy high all night for our reception! He adhered to all of our requests for playing and NOT specific playing songs or artists. During our dancing there was one song that we weren't feeling, so we let him know and he happily and quickly changed it to another song on the fly. Roland (IG@ DjBudPlays) and my husband and I vibed from the start at the venue's wedding fair, and I knew we would be in amazing hands. From messaging on IG to our virtual call to the actual wedding day, Roland was our 'UPLIFTER' and we could not have done it without him. He was open to giving us feedback throughout the process, through multiple communication methods. He went above and beyond by even helping my sister with some music lyrics during her MOH speech.
