I grew up in STL but haven't lived here in ages. I remember Imo's and Gianino's (which I believe may be gone...) fondly so when I was on my way to the airport after a short visit here, I thought I'd take a quick lunch detour here. I should have let Imo's live in my memory as my lunch was DISAPPOINTING! My pizza was flavorless, soggy, and sloppily made. It would have been nice for the counter guy to point out that the lunch special would have saved me $5 and given me more food, but my bad... This location is sort of hard to find unless you know exactly where it is. The sign is very hard to see at night. Overall, the service was quick but the pizza was not as good as some of the other locations I've been to. The toasted ravioli was great but the pizza was just OK. read more

I remember why I never eat here. The pizza is not the best, but pizza a pizza right. Even when it's bad it's still pretty good. Had a coupon for a free 14" pizza so the husband and I got that and a salad. You can tell the place has been here for a white. I know people love this place so do what you want. Several St. Louis area friends have raved about this place, but not being a pizza fan, and having high standards for food, I was really reluctant to try it. This location was really good. Really awesome thin crust (like a cracker) pizza. If you don't like thin crust pizza, you will not like Imo's. Great, flavorful sauce, all the way to the edges. A bit messy since it's cut into squares. The atmosphere wasn't anything special. I'm guessing they have more take out than anything else. It reminded me of an old school pizza joint we used to go to when I was a kid. Nothing fancy, no specialty pizzas, just good pizza. We went to a location in downtown inside a hotel another time, and it was downright awful! Awful service (multiple issues with fountain machine, which we complained about twice, and they never fixed), the cheese was creamy (Like cream cheese... Whaaaa?????), and there hardly any sauce on it. Stick to a full blown Imo's, and I think you will be OK. But I've only had it twice. read more

Since downtown St. Louis apparently shuts down early, we needed some food later in the evening and randomly chose this pizzeria near our hotel - and given how quickly three people hoovered down a very large pizza, we chose wisely. Thin crust was cooked to perfection and the cheese was just the right consistency and amount. Wish we had ordered two ... I have been coming to this Imo's almost my entire life. It is the epitome of the comfort of home. And since home is Kirkwood, this Imo's means a lot to me. It was always the first place I would head when I came home from college. The pizza is amazing no matter what out of town guests think. Provel - you either love it or hate. I love it. Their sausage is great. The toasted raviolis can't be beat. Salads are wonderful. The prices at Kirkwood are lower than any other Imo's around and their lunch specials can be purchased all day long. I even secretly love the fact that only true locals know how to get into the back parking lot. I love Kirkwood. And I love the Kirkwood Imo's. Its a part of my childhood, adolescense, young adulthood, and now parenthood. It is my pleasure to pass the love of Kirkwood Imo's on to my children! read more

I thought the pizza was excellent. If you like thin crust and pizza cut into squares, this is the place for you! Prices were pretty good and I'm always a fan of the self-serve soda fountains. Don't leave without trying the toasted ravioli. It makes for a great appetizer. All-in-all the food is good and so is the value at Imo's. read more

Have gone to this Imos several times. It's never been a good experience, from poor parking options, to slow service, and a dark, overheated dining area. The high temperature and poor parking are a function of the space/location. The one perk worth mentioning for this store...BYOB! We received a mailer with Imos coupons and planned to use one. At the counter we were surprised to learn the coupons applied to the Webster store only, and Kirkwood would not accept them. A bit surprising since we ordered several additional items at menu price. As stubborn as I am, I called their bluff and we went to Webster. Best choice we ever made. We called ahead, upon leaving the Kirkwood store, and our food was ready when we arrived. The staff greeted us upon entering and leaving. They stopped through the well-lit, spacious dining area to all the tables on several occasions. Parking was reserved and spacious. The list goes on. I prefer Chicago deep dish like the former Jakes. But I knew what I was getting into with St Louis style pizza. Chicago is manly pizza. I'll leave it at that. Pizza was good. Easily the best Imo's location in St. Louis. Each time I visit when I come back home, the service is consistent, pizza is superb and toasted ravioli are on point! I can truly say that I've never had an experience that wasn't great at this location! My wife loves Imo's...we had it for appetizers at our wedding for Pete's sake....it isn't really in my top 5 based on both taste and value. I.e. you can't even tell there is a pizza in the box until you open it. Our Imo's purchases have dwindled to maybe once a month. We ordered a 16in XL today and when I got home my wife made the comment that it wasn't an XL. We measured it and it was only 13 inches. I called the store and let them know and they essentially said if it is in a 16 inch box it is an XL. If I've done my math right, we only got 65% of what we ordered. Guess we will have to cut back in our imos consumption even more. Oh, as far as the food actually was...the pizza was the same as it always is, but the wings were hard, dry, and crunchy. I placed an order with the Kirkwood location and there was an issue when the order arrived. I contacted the store and was placed on hold for a very long time and someone kept coming back confused on what to do. Finally the manager came to the phone. She was very short and not friendly. She had no desire to correct the issue. This is not the Customer Service I would expect from a company like Imos. I will not be ordering from this location again. read more

Imo's Pizza is a rather binomial experience - you either love it or hate it. There is no middle ground. I personally love it! The pizza is served up cracker thin and crunchy (aka St. Louis style) with oodles of provel cheese over the top which adds a tangy taste to the pizza experience. Pizza is basically sauceless and crust reminds me of a cracker. My understanding is that the cheese is a STL original thing. The cheese wasn't terrible, it was interesting. The large pizza is more of a medium and wont feed more than two people. Not worth the money at all. The staff was rude. Driver forgot our soda and asked, "do you need me to go back and get it?" I love pizza, but I honestly think IMO's is kind of gross. You basically get a saltine cracker covered in sauce and Elmer's school glue for "cheese." My husband was raised in Webster groves and has eaten Imos for many years. We were in town for my father in laws memorial. We ordered 3 pizzas for the family to enjoy at the pool. It was the worst pizza we have eaten ever. It was a weird paste and had American sliced cheese on it???? We had Imos from the Webster location just last month and it was delicious. Like a true St. Lousian, I am obsessed with Imo's and find all other pizzas to be incomparable. Made with delicious provel cheese and a super thin, crispy cracker crust, Imo's is simple and an original St. Louis favorite. You probably won't like it, though, if you are visiting from somewhere that also has a distinctive pizza style, like New York or Chicago. read more

I love Imo's in general, but I really appreciate how this location's dine-in area is cleaner and overall more well kept than others. It is a nice atmosphere and the food is consistently good. This Imo's is a little bit older than most... but the food is the same. Thin crust, sweet sauce, provel. You can dine in here. There is parking out back. I'm not a huge Imo's fan. I hadn't had an "Imo's pizza" in a long time so I ordered a cheese pizza to be delivered. There is now a delivery charge. The pizza was not like I remembered. It was smothered in a too sweet tomato sauce. There seemed to be too much cheese, It was a continuous blob. The overall taste was not remarkable.
