Did a carry out for the first time. Moved away from the area so haven't eaten at this location in over a year. Ordered salads, pizza, and toasted ravs. Was ready at the exact time they said. It's Friday night during Lent so we were looking for a place that has some fish or non-meat options. We decided to stop by pasta house and knew we could find something here. I ordered the grande House salad with my dressing on the side. My husband ordered the fish and chips. On my picture he had already ate two, but I believe it came with five pieces of fish and several chips. It was pretty good and that's a lot coming from me because I am not a fan of fish. But this fish, I believe it was cod, was pretty darn good. The chips were really good crispy and very salty just how I like them. Our waitress was great. While not gourmet dining, Pasta House on 9012 Gravois Road offers good food at reasonable prices. The decor is nothing about which to get excited (though it is somewhat redeemed by vintage Vespa posters), and the restaurant caters to a mainly senior crowd. If you are looking to lunch with a prospective hire for your AgTech or bioscience startup, this is probably not the place. That said, Pasta House does offer some healthy and wholesome Italian fare. I had the Pasta House salad with grilled chicken. This is a filling, hearty choice. It has lots of artichoke hearts, which I like, and too-copious onions, which I don't. I asked the server that the onions be held, which made the salad palatable. BTW, the server was a courteous and efficient young lady who went out of her way to be nice. That is appreciated! I am no longer a St. Louis resident. Pasta House is one of those you don't know what you have till it's gone. They do certain dishes that are some of the best I have ever had. Chicken Flamingo, carbonara, and my one dish I love is fettucine with chicken livers and of course the Pasta House salad. Since I have eaten these dishes from Pasta House and have tried them in other cities or countries I can form an opinion of what I miss. :) Where I live now the pasta is heavily East Coast mainly Boston and New York/Jersey. Not saying they are bad just different. I find one of the interesting things here is they will always ask you what noodle you want. This always leaves me with brain freeze trying to remember what noodle I had at Pasta House. Our server was so nice and special. I had the shrimp fettuccine and it is my new favorite pasta!! The shrimp that come with it are HUGE and the mushrooms are cooked perfectly. (I hate it when I get slimey mushrooms in my padat!!) Everytime I bit into a mushroom it made a nice crisp crunch noise... yummmmm!! My husband got the spaghetti with meatballs and he had nothing but great things to say about it! Kids eat free on Sundays drew us to PHCo tonight, but Manager Ben and his staff are what'll keep us coming back. Our waitress was handling a large & rather rude party seated only moments before us. Ben directed us to our table, handed out menus, & began to take our drink order. Shortly thereafter, he brought dinner rolls & proceeded to take our order. In no time at all, Ben was serving us our meal and was 100% spot-on. The food was exceptional, the restaurant was clean, and the overall experience was one we'll never forget. We didn't see our waitress until Ben handed her our check. He did EVERYTHING for us and - I'm sure - let his waitress keep the 41% tip. Went here for lunch with my picky grandma who just wanted soup, salad and an appetizer. She complains everywhere we go so her complaint was that the soup had to much noodles and not enough broth. On to the real review, we split an order of Mt. Vesuvius chicken and fried mushrooms, both were great. Although iv had better mushrooms. I put the chicken on my salad because iv done that for years since when i worked at a different location years ago before it was an option on the menu. I guess i trade marked that and it caught on. Anyway you cant go wrong with the salad because the dressing is so tasty and the greens are so fresh. I ordered for my lunch the red and white combo which is only offered on tuesday I believe. But that is and always has been one of my favorite things because i like red sauce, and cream sauce so this is best of both. Servings were big i ate my salad with chicken and some of the mushrooms and barely touched my pasta so i had that between two different meals the next day. The Pasta House is one of my favorite restaurants. They have, in my opinion, the best Toasted Raviolis around. And the Chicken Flamingo is quite tasty as well. I also love their Salad which comes with quite generous portions (but I always get the sweet Italian dressing instead of the sour Italian which is the house dressing). They do bring rolls to the table which I appreciate and the staff is always very attentive. I saw another Yelp reviewer said Pasta House is better than Olive Garden & I definitely agree with that. P.S. One of my other favorite things about Pasta House is they offer a gluten-free pasta so my cousin can be accommodated when we have family meals there. read more

The food not so much which is very disappointing because Pasta House used to be a favorite. We ordered a roast beef sandwich 2 salads and Pesce al Freste. The salad had ONE Artichoke and the lettuce didn't seem fresh. The fish breading totally slid off and the broccoli with it was brown. The roast beef sandwich was very soggy. Fish and Chips at an Italian "sorta" chain restaurant -- you would pass it right by on the menu. STOP - pass the pasta and all the red sauce in the sea and check out the Fish and Chips at Pasta House. Fish filets are freshly cut and battered with special seasoned batter. Filets vary in size but are always plentiful and hot and the white fish inside flakey, and they are served with a homemade tartar sauce that taste like no other (Dill is in the mix?) and garnished with a couple of lemon wedges. Meal comes with a side of fries, but you can substitute the Italian potatoes - which are potato wedges baked with sliced black olives and cheese (provolone?). better than fries. Service at Pasta House is always friendly and efficient and the iced tea delicious. The (Italian) Fish and Chips -- in a category all their own (back of the menu) and the BEST. read more

The stuffed artichoke could have been cooked longer to get the meat to come off of the leaves, but the breading was plentiful and scrumptious. Also, the server will remove the heart for you once you get down far enough. This is not a first date food! The seafood ravioli had large chunks of shrimp and scallops in a vodka-type sauce. When I lived in St. Louis Hills this Pasta House in Affton was a regular stop. I went on Monday night with my parents for a quick dinner. It was mobbed! Perhaps because Monday is AYCE pasta but honestly I think it's just because this location is really on the ball. I had spaghetti with meat sauce and they ordered the Pork Chops Milanese and the Sicilian Grilled Pesce. The salad was fresh and good and we all went home with leftovers. A couple of the West County locations should take a class from these people! This is how Pasta House used to be in St. Louis. I'll be back. read more
