A treat for a family outing! Pasta House's encouragement of literacy brought us in to redeem our little one's reading coupon for a free spaghetti dinner. I'm in love with their sandwiches--this time I tried Joe's Special Roast Beef, and the roast beef and cheese blend was absolutely delightful. We'll definitely be back on a Sunday so our little one can choose from the kids' menu during their Kids Eat Free Sundays! Thank you for a great family night out and a cozy vibe on a cold, snowy day. The Christmas décor was exactly what my spirit needed.

Great food. Our service was fair. The interior was a decent family dining experience. We like their food, so we will be returning.

Fish and chip meal. It came with five delicious pieces of fish. We had already ate two prior to the picture.

It's Friday night during Lent so we were looking for a place that has some fish or non-meat options. We decided to stop by pasta house and knew we could find something here. I ordered the grande House salad with my dressing on the side. My husband ordered the fish and chips. On my picture he had already ate two, but I believe it came with five pieces of fish and several chips. It was pretty good and that's a lot coming from me because I am not a fan of fish. But this fish, I believe it was cod, was pretty darn good. The chips were really good crispy and very salty just how I like them. Our waitress was great. You could tell she had worked there for several years. The restaurant itself is a bit loud, but it was a busy day.

Vintage Vespa Poster is a highlight of the decor.

While not gourmet dining, Pasta House on 9012 Gravois Road offers good food at reasonable prices. The decor is nothing about which to get excited (though it is somewhat redeemed by vintage Vespa posters), and the restaurant caters to a mainly senior crowd. If you are looking to lunch with a prospective hire for your AgTech or bioscience startup, this is probably not the place. That said, Pasta House does offer some healthy and wholesome Italian fare. I had the Pasta House salad with grilled chicken. This is a filling, hearty choice. It has lots of artichoke hearts, which I like, and too-copious onions, which I don't. I asked the server that the onions be held, which made the salad palatable. BTW, the server was a courteous and efficient young lady who went out of her way to be nice. That is appreciated! All in all, not a bad lunch, and a good value.

Famous Pasta House salad. So good.

I am no longer a St. Louis resident. Pasta House is one of those you don't know what you have till it's gone. They do certain dishes that are some of the best I have ever had. Chicken Flamingo, carbonara, and my one dish I love is fettucine with chicken livers and of course the Pasta House salad. Since I have eaten these dishes from Pasta House and have tried them in other cities or countries I can form an opinion of what I miss. :) Where I live now the pasta is heavily East Coast mainly Boston and New York/Jersey. Not saying they are bad just different. I find one of the interesting things here is they will always ask you what noodle you want. This always leaves me with brain freeze trying to remember what noodle I had at Pasta House. Our server was so nice and special. She was interested in where we were from and how was the employment situation. So we had great service and personal attention. Top combo.

My hubs and I decided to order takeout today. I AM SOOOO HAPPY WE DID!! EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! We share their famous salad and it was delicious as always. I had the shrimp fettuccine and it is my new favorite pasta!! The shrimp that come with it are HUGE and the mushrooms are cooked perfectly. (I hate it when I get slimey mushrooms in my padat!!) Everytime I bit into a mushroom it made a nice crisp crunch noise... yummmmm!! My husband got the spaghetti with meatballs and he had nothing but great things to say about it! It was still piping hot when I opened it at home and I'm super thankful for that! The worse thing is trying to eat cold delivery ! Also ordering was simple and we will be making this restaurant one of our monthly order spots from now on!!

The Pasta House is classic. I've been coming to this location with my family since I was a kid. Service is usually fast and friendly. This place is good for accommodating large parties (we've had lots of family birthday's, mothers days, etc. here). My favorite dish is the chicken flamingo, I get it every single time and it's always amazing.

Midwest Pasta provides fresh pasta and flour to local restaurants. So they make their products in batches -- but anyone can walk in and purchase. Everything is DELICIOSO!! Their customer service is awesome. I stopped in to buy some fresh pasta, and was advised on what might pair best for my meal plan; and because I was traveling got an ice pack to help the pasta stay cooled. There is also a very small display of imported olives, olive oil, pesto, etc. However, the options are limited and display is limited to just a couple shelves. This is not a huge grocery, but it will accommodate small foodies out exploring the Cherokee Street Benton Park neighborhood. Double check store hours. They DO close early. So be sure to check hours and plan your visit accordingly. You'll miss out if you think you're stopping by after work or on the weekend.

I would order this again!! Had plenty for lunch the next day. Not to be left out: the toasted ravs and cannoli. I've had a few T-ravs since moving to StL, and these are excellent. The tomato sauce for dipping, once again, is a real treat. The cannolis? Precious, flaky, and dreamy. I ate one at our table and took the second bad boy home. FIRE.

While traveling through Missouri, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner. I searched…read moreYelp and came across Anthonino's. I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.
