This was our first time here. We came after receiving recommendations from friends, and it did not disappoint. Before discussing the food, let's talk about what's most important, and that's our waitress Eve. Our table of four had many questions regarding food as well as wine, and Eve had thoughts and recommendations for everything. It was a pleasant change from other servers when Eve had some recs for things that weren't the most expensive items on the menu (we've all experienced the servers who only recommend the top dollar plates). Eve listened carefully to what we wanted and had appropriate and mindful suggestions. Eve knew all about the wines and helped us pair properly per plate. The rest of the staff that crossed paths with our table were kind and helpful as well. As for the food... the Truffle Agnolotti was as to die for! Omg. Amazing. Full of flavor yet not heavy. Napoli Kirkwood has some amazing dishes. I tend to visit once every few months and the food never disappoints. My favorites are the calamari and salmon penne alla vodka. The service has its ups and downs. I have had excellent service, as well as slow and subpar service for the price point. Overall, I highly recommend dining at Napoli, but service is a hit or miss. read more

we went for a birthday celebration for a group of 5 ladies. Love the atmosphere, fun, upscale casual. The food was amazing! I forgot my phone in car so no food pics. Most of us had the burrata heirloom tomato lobster salad for a first course. It was amazing!!! everyone agreed. We had a variety of main courses. the grilled lamb got high marks. i had the special seafood pasta of the night. scallops, shrimp, morel mushrooms over spinach fettuccini with a white wine sauce (wow, excellent) another had the grilled halibut... great someone had chicken piccata and another had the sauted spinach w the tomato salad for a main course. Napoli Kirkwood is yet another edition of one of my favorite restaurant groups in St Louis. It all started with Cafe Napoli in Clayton, one of my top ten restaurants in the area. At the Kirkwood location I tried the Sea Bass. It's a bit different than what I expected as this one is herb encrusted (perhaps in Panko?) with an asparagus risotto. It was crunchy and delicious. My wife had the Caesar salad with chicken, a basic meal that is not very special but delicious nonetheless. The interior is a modern design. Our waiter was competent and attentive without being over the top. We will be back again to try some more adventurous items. read more

This was my husband and I's first Easter without the kids at home, so we decided to find a brunch spot in STL. Honestly, I didn't know anything before booking a reservation here and landed on this spot based on availability and after reading the reviews. While Italian isn't usually our first choose, this place was really top tier. Our favorite thing in the menu was the Crispy Rice (seems odd for an Italian menu, but try it!). We could have liked the plate if no one was watching. Our cocktails were also lovely and the wait staff were warm and friendly. Service was stellar even though the place was packed. I think this would be a great dinner spot and probably would be quieter in the evening without the large number of families that were gathered there that day. Looking forward to retuning or trying another one of their locations. read more

Wow, this was such a fantastic evening. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and it delivered that chic and class vibe that I love. My friend and I started with exceptional drinks, a classic Negroni and cosmopolitan, then decided to just snack on some appetizers consisting of oysters, crispy rice, meatballs, and fries. The oysters were so good that even after I closed my tab, I reopened to order a half dozen more. The crispy rice dish was also a stand out! Kayla, our server, was so kind and provided great service. Harold was a pleasure as he kept checking in making sure everything was perfect. Heidi and Baeden were wonderful as well. The staff genuinely cared and made us feel so welcomed. Love it! Should have been three and a half... Ok great space, large inviting patio, and attentive service. Why you ask three and a half ? I would classify this as higher end dining, not fine dining exactly but the pricing reflects this. So personally I dont want a monitor in the dining room. Bar fine. Proteins were quite good; liver for me and filet medallions for her. Well seasoned and proper temperature. Sides and salad not so much. Ceaser was over dressed to the point the croutons were soggy. Brussels on the special were under seasoned and quite hard. Side spinach also under seasoned and somewhat dry. Off night? Maby, but the higher the bill the less room there is. read more

My husband had a work dinner here and was excited to take me for date night another time. We easily made a weeknight reservation a less than a week in advance, but I'm glad we made one because the restaurant was hopping when we arrived around 6:45PM on a Thursday night. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and given water and bread. We heard the specials and asked for recommendations. We ended up ordering the meatballs appetizer, chicken parmesan with a side of pasta with pink sauce (mix of their tomato and Alfredo with their homemade noodles) for me and my husband had the eighteen dollar manhattan (that is what it's called!) and penne alla vodka. We ended with tiramisu. All of our dishes were delicious, the sauces are so good! The meat was slightly dry consistently but the seasoning and flavoring was really good. Hubs drink was yummy - and massive. The tiramisu was delicious. Service was really good throughout our meal. The ambiance is great for date night, marbling on the floor (and ceiling) and moody vibes. They had big parties and small, and a partially partitioned off room for more intimate dinners. Would recommend and return! read more

The new Napoli location in Kirkwood located at the James building is a bustling place serving delicious meals. We had a 6pm reservation on a Friday evening and we were seated right away. Our waitress came over to take our drink orders which were delivered to our table fairly quickly. We started with the arancini. I asked how many were in an order and they told me it was 1 but fairly large. We ordered 2, one for each person and quickly regretted the decision as a singular arancini was actually filing. I had the pasta with shrimp and scallops, it was one of the specials that evening and my husband had the salmon. His salmon was fairly low carb with some sautéed spinach which was probably fine after the arancini. My pasta was excellent. The shrimp were huge and the sauce was flavorful. I was prewarned that the sauce would be a bit spicy but it was fine. For dessert, I ordered some blood orange sorbet which was a perfect end to dinner. The place was nice and orderly, good spacing between tables but could get a bit loud especially during busy hours. Staff were friendly and checked on the table regularly. At the end of our main course, the manager (I think that's who it was), made a point to stop by our table to ensure we're having a good dinner. It was a lovely touch! We were at a birthday dinner with a party of 6, including a 2 year old and a 4 year old. We ordered drinks for the children and the manager immediately came over to apologize, stating that cups with lids had not arrived in that day's shipment. The drinks were served in regular glasses. However, 10 minutes later the waiter arrived with the cups with lids. The manager had sent someone across the street to Walgreen's to buy the cups and lids! Didn't get automatically charged a tip, which I ALWAYS appreciate. Why not FIVE stars then, you might ask? The background music. I go to a restaurant for the food and the company. When everybody in the restaurant has to yell to be heard over background music, it just sucks a lot of enjoyment out of the event. I do NOT understand why restaurants do this. Short Update: Went back last week. As good as, or better than our visit in December 2025. My wife and I again split the Chopped Salad. Well dressed and enough for the two of us (served on individual plates which demonstrates their attention to detail and customer-driven focus). I had the Lamb Chop Siciliano paired with their Super Tuscan Red Wine. Three lightly breaded, double cut lamb chops in a lemon caper sauce and mashed potatoes. Unbelievably perfect. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi. Huge shrimp (at least U10) and huge flavor. Couldn't have had a better experience. Will be going back soon. By the way, our companions noted how packed it was for a week night. It's that way for a reason... great food, excellent drinks, attentive service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Celebrated my wife's birthday at Napoli Kirkwood last night and it was outstanding! The atmosphere, although a touch noisy, was classy. Each table had enough space (restaurant was packed!) to feel secluded but close enough to feel the energy of the restaurant...great vibe. Service was top notch...attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. Management stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking. We started with crab cakes which were really good. The birthday girl had the seafood special linguini...wow, awesome! Great mix of seafood plus a touch of spice in the sauce made this dish a bit hit. I had the linguini mare...this one will make you weak in the knees. Man, was it fantastic! Sooooo good. I started with the stacked salad-fabulous! Then to the a sea bass cooked to perfection along with the risotto is a wonderful plate of goodness. Pair it with a Chardonnay! My husband and son had the vodka pasta which the loved. My other son had the scampi..the shrimp were huge! We then moved on to the tiramisu and crème brûlée again perfection! I'm hairdresser in creve couer. I was just telling my client I'm craving a restaurant with wonderful service. I work in service. I'm tired of feeling like I'm inconveniencing my bartender or waitress by just being there. My client went on to tell me about a gentleman middle age that works at your establishment. She said she's had this waiter three times and it's left an impression. Well it left such an impression on me I'm willing to leave a great review even though I haven't been there yet. The restaurant was pretty empty but food came out slower than expected and we had to ask for bread. That said, all the food was really good. The bread pudding was the best part! I've been wanting to check out this place since they opened and figured today would be the day. I saw that they had a lunch menu and called ahead to get the hours so I wouldn't miss out. It's located across the street from Walgreens and is in the building adjacent to the Alpine shop. I parked in what I think may have been the apartment building for the James and assumed it would be ok since that's where it's technically located. When I first walked in, I was greeted by one of the two staff working. He asked that I sit somewhere close since it was only he and the bartender at the time. Although I wanted to sit at a two-top at the end but still in their section, I chose to sit at the bar. The bartender immediately gave me water and I was given a food menu and iPad that had the drink menu by the hostess. Since I took a look at the menu beforehand, I knew what I was going to get. Drink wise, I started out with my favorite: Three Olives Grape with Sprite and a lime. While I planned on trying the Arancini del giorno, they said it was 4 cheese, one of which was provel. (Che schifo!) I immediately said, "nope" and stuck with the Caesar salad and no surprise, the Mezzi Maniche Genovese but with no salisiccia. Shortly after, I was given bread, butter, and oil and then my salad came out. The bread was hot and fresh and I believe is the same one they have at the other Napoli establishments. My salad came out and while it was delightful, the first few croutons I ate were questionable. In fact, they tasted like chili cheese Fritos! While not a bad thing, it wasn't what I was expecting! My entree came out a few minutes after I finished my salad and in true Napoli fashion, this is where they shined. The size of the dish was spot on; not too much but not too little to where you're still left hungry afterwards. The first bite was so savory and it didn't take long before I was hooked. The pasta was cooked perfectly al Dente and the sauce was exquisite! Overall, the place is aesthetically pleasing! Sitting at the bar made me feel like I was in another city. I love that they have a lunch menu but was disappointed in that I was charged a couple dollars more for getting the lunch sized entree at lunch! Both the website and menu say $15.00 and yet I was charged $17.00 with no additions. Obv, I didn't say anything but it does make you wonder. Regardless, I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Parking is a bit of a challenge--you'll likely need to valet, but the service was smooth and efficient. We started with the eggplant Parmesan. It was cold so I wanted something heavy. Came here on a Wednesday night a week before Christmas and it was packed! We were seated in the very back in a semi closed off room where it was extremely loud. We started off with cocktails off the normal drink menu and those were really good. Definitely try the tequila and coconuts if you need to be reminded of the beach during this cold season. We all shared the crispy rice which was our favorite, truffle fries, mezzi genovese pasta which is my favorite, and the seabass. The fish itself was good but the dish probably would have been better if it wasn't encrusted and the balsamic on the risotto kind of threw off the flavors. Since most bars around us close early, we decided to stay and order a round of the holiday drinks. Sweater weather was good but a little strong and I think I prefer an espresso martini without the pumpkin. The grinch was really good. Let it snow was too sweet for my liking. We also got a complimentary raspberry cheesecake to celebrate a girlfriend's bday and it was so good! We ended our night with a lemon drop shot at the bar and some photos with Christmas tree outside. Great veal piccata, as good as I have ever had, perfect lemon sauce balance w lots of capers and mushrooms. Cioppino was good, had good flavor but sadly missing fish, small bits of clams, one calamari ring, one very small piece of white fish the rest celery and carrot's. The pizza was also very good with good chewey crust, plenty of cheese and topping. Good service, while the ambience is quite loud and is very busy with lots of movement of managers, waiters, waitreses etc. So all good but where's the "fish"? read more

I haven't historically enjoyed the various Napoli's, either too corporate or too much of a scene. This is one however is fantastic. Whether it's a lunch for work, date night or family dinner it works! The location is great, parking behind is easy. The service is top notch, definitely designed to be more an evening place than a lunch place but regardless they'll take care of you. Now the important part - the food. Absolutely fantastic. I was thrilled that Napoli opened a location in Kirkwood--it is stunningly beautiful and elegant inside and I loved the lit-up tree, lamps at every table, and general ambiance. The restaurant got really loud and it was hard to hear my friends at the table because there were several tables pretty close to us--maybe because it was packed on a Saturday night though. My friends and I tried the chicken parmesan, chicken piccata, and rigatoni genovese with crumbled sausage pesto cream sauce. They provide complimentary bread and butter. The portion size of the chicken parmesan was HUGE. The waitress said it's one of their popular items right now. I loved the rigatoni sauce which was rich and creamy but not overly heavy. We ran out of room for dessert this time but the menu looked enticing and we will have to try it next time! read more

New location for the Napoli restaurants. Made a reservation and that's my advice. Don't go without one. Very busy on a Friday night. After the devastation that St. Louis suffered by the storm, I felt guilty eating out. However, we stayed and were seated exactly at the time our reservation was. It's a dark and would be very romantic if it wasn't so busy. Very pretty decor. Dark and sexy. It was super loud but people were having fun. Najja, our server was fantastic. Everyone was very attentive. He informed us that the bar was very busy with only one bartender making drinks. He suggested ordering wine so we did. The kitchen must have been very backed up but I didn't care because you see, I'm a people watcher and I enjoyed watching the lady at the bar down her martinis . We ordered calamari and it was good with fresh lemon and two dipping sauces. Crunchy coating and not rubbery. A nice start. I've been to Cafe Napoli (this location is the quintessential people watching spot especially in the Summer and on the patio!) Come see all the beautiful cars and people. Back to Napoli Kirkwood.... I had the special, scallops and shrimp with I think sun dried tomatoes and a lovely wine sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. It was delicious! Partner, he had the pasta with clams in a white wine sauce. I loved his. There is a nice patio outside and plenty of parking. Great food and service as usual at this Napoli location.
