Dewey's is great. Amazing pizzas that you can see being made in real time, salads with amazing toppings and dressings, and a properly air-conditioned, upscale dining room. So why the 4 stars? Well, I'm taking a star off for the service. 10 years ago, this place had phenomenal service. Now, it's hard to flag a server down for a refill or the check. I'm not sure if they use "team service" here, but that's the vibe we've gotten. You get one server, then another, then another. Fix the service, get anther star, Dewey's. The pizza here is so tasty and I appreciate that they are offered in multiple sizes! The staff were all very kind, though it was occasionally hard to get their attention. One of my new favorite pizza places. We had three different pizzas on this visit and all were delicious. The buffalo chicken pizza was my favorite. Their house ranch is excellent and we all like to dip our pizza in it. As a family of 8, they easily accommodated us and brought a sling over for our littlest who was in their car seat. All the staff was friendly and service was good. I would say this is a little more of an upscale pizza restaurant...yummy looking adult salads, just a little bit more of a pizazz, even their paper towels in the bathroom had a design on them and were a better quality than your average pizza place. Overall 5/5! For three large pizzas and one drink, including tip, we paid $100. We had almost a whole pizza left to take home. read more

Went here on 7/2/25 for lunch. There were 3 adults and 5 kids. We didn't have to wait long for a table. Looks like they have a decent selection of beer. The menu looked great! Deweys had margarita's now, not cheap but were very good. Had candied walnut salad, always good, then the seasonal pizza my favorite seasonal pizza, however, sadly missed the mark this time. Problem way too much garlic, overly cooked prosciutto, and sparse amount of arugula (see photo below) that did not have lemon-vinegarette dressing (yes I know it should be very light), but this had none. First, the constant hovering--waitresses were circling our table every few minutes, and one even snatched my brother's plate before he was done. Then when I asked for a box, I was handed four pieces of foil... meanwhile, the couple behind me got a box for just one slice. I'm not making accusations--just stating what happened. It might not seem like a big deal, but when I spend my money, tip well, and enjoy the food, I at least expect a to-go box and the space to eat without feeling watched. They "dew" everything right. Sorry, I couldn't resist the play on words. There is plenty of street parking and public lots close. Welcoming environment and you can watch the kitchen creating magic while you wait. It's a hopping spot so you have to get there early if you don't want to wait for a table. Service was really good and the food was outstanding! I ordered the house salad and this simple mix was so good! The flavors blended well. Saturday is Pizza night and we decided on Dewey's for carry out. They were running a little behind so we decided to have a drink at the bar. Nice selection of local beers on tap and a decent wine list. You can see the open kitchen from the bar and restaurant. I was a bit surprised that the pizza oven is a conveyor type. We enjoyed our drinks and the conversation with bar staff and other customers. When our pizzas were ready they were kept in the kitchen until we finished our drinks. A nice touch. The Caprese and the Dr Dre pizzas were both good. I would prefer them cooked a little longer. The Caesar Salad was fresh with crisp croutons , shaved Parmesan and tasty dressing. read more

Takeout from Dewey's is a crowd favorite when we're ordering out for pizza, but I finally dined in after we finished painting at the Pottery Hollow down the street. Street parking can be tough on weekends in downtown Kirkwood but there are some free lots down Jefferson Ave. We ordered salads and pizza to share among the 5 of us. The candied walnut salad was phenomenal and I was so full after splitting half of it that I barely had room for my pizza. Everyone was so kind and the pizza was great! When I walked in the manager and one of the bartenders were decorating for Christmas. This honestly was the worst Take home pizza that we have ever eaten. It's a shame because it tasted like the crust was homemade, could taste yeast. I have been to Dewey's for years, but definitely have never made a review! They have great choices to choose from and multiple locations that aren't too far from home! My favorites are the Porky Fig, Hawaiian, Edgar Allen Poe (without the olives for me!) and Dr. Dre! My favorite parts about the pizza are the fresh taste and the pizza dough itself! I suggest to dine in, the pizza is the perfect temperature and freshness! I've taken pizza home before and it's still good, but I just know what it's like to dine in. Food is always good, even for pick, the pizzas are large, there's always plenty of leftovers and I'd say the pizza is still great re-heated. Anytime we've dined in the place is always packed. There's usually a long wait time for pick up or dine in. The atmosphere is basic for a pizza joint. I'd go early and probably not great for big groups, it's cramped inside. read more

Dewey's is usually very good. It's always busy, so plan accordingly if you're dining in. Usually, the service is good, the salads are fresh & tasty, and the pizza is delicious. My most recent order was for carry out at about 1pm on a Saturday. I arrived about 15 minutes after calling in my order. The host checked in my order and said it would be about 10 more minutes. About 30 minutes later, they brought my order out. The pizza was barely warm. It's clear there had been some kind of mishap with the order and the pizza had beer sitting a while, but I just didn't have time to make them redo it. It was an unusual miss. read more
